The Super Saiyan 3 Broly from the Hybrid Grade gashapon line has turned out to be one of my favorites to own, but it has always been ridiculously expensive.
I'm just curious to know who else owns it or what their opinions on it might be. o.o

I would like to own that Broly, but it's cost has put it way down on my to-own list.
I have the EX Broly which is an expensive figure but I wanted it bad enough to shell out around $100. The HBG SS3 Broly is also an amazing looking figure. I wanted it as soon as I saw it and would have been willing to pay around the same, but I'm not sure if I have seen it for less than $200. I often see it going for $350!!!
I hate these crazy price points because they skew are sense of the products value to us.
If I were to look at the EX Broly without knowing anything about how much people are buying and selling it for I would guess it was a $60 figure at most. But knowing the market for the figure I was able to convince myself to pay $100.
With the HBG Broly I would guess it was maybe an $80 figure, so I don't see myself dropping $200 on it.
I always wondered how much it cost when it was first release though. ??

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that SS3 Broly much larger than HG gashapons?

i.imgur.com/Lr1OUdu.jpgBy a fair amount, yeah. He's pretty farkin' huge. You could originally preorder him for between $60-$80, but after his release those prices could not have gone bye-bye any faster. He's amazingly sculpted, of course, with my one minor complaint being his color palette (a little too green, too orange, too pink, etcetera), but with his minimum price usually being $200 it's very hard to justify a purchase now unless you're a Broly superfan or want to complete the Hybrid Grade lineup i.imgur.com/CBO60H5.jpgJust get me a Super Saiyan 3 Vegetto and I think we're all set.

You can only hope they re-release him again, just like the Medicos Goku, so scalpers can put their figures up on their a$$.

If I had known it was going to get to be so expensive, I would have gotten one when it came out

i.imgur.com/CugQ1Jo.jpgThe real selling point to the figure, I would think, is the hair. The prices are ridiculous, though. I absolutely blame scalpers, just like what going on with Dragon Box 2.

The figure looks fantastic, but it's so weird that it is so HUGE! I'm tempted to say "I wonder what it would look like in a Bandai Real Works collection?"
But the answer would be "Well, the painting is so much better than Real Works that it's going to make Real Works look like crap... even IF it is probably to scale with them"

It truly is the largest DragonBall gashapon I have ever seen, or am at least aware of. It dwarfs the HG EX Broli by a wide margin, and it's even bigger than the HSCF version of SSj3 Broli. A gashapon that's bigger than a non-gashapon. I- it just boggles my mind.

I believe it was a crane machine prize, doesn't technically fall under the category of Gashapon.
