What figure(s)?

What I do is...

I put Vaseline on the character's ear and surrounding areas that the scouter will be touching.

I use a little bit of Apoxie Sculpt, sculpt the scouter, and shove it onto the character's ear.

I use permanent marker in the color the scouter needs to be, and color on the front and back side of a piece of clear plastic packaging (like from a figure or anything else you buy and throw away).

I cut out that piece of plastic in the shape of a scouter lens. I then shove it into the Apoxie Sculpt.

Let it dry, paint the scouter, and you're done. The Vaseline keeps it from sticking to the figure, and if the figure has a big ear, you won't need to stick a stick into the Apoxie or drill a hole in the head.

Ok, well, what I said will work, except with Vegeta, since his ears don't stick out much, you'll have to use a piece of plastic, a toothpick, or some other form of scrap to make a peg, and drill a hole in his ear or behind his ear to hold the scouter.

I like to use the trash portion of what model kit pieces come on. I think this trash portion is called a "tree", but I prefer to call it a "skeleton". But anyway, those pieces of plastic you'd normally throw away are usually exactly 1/8" so you can use a 1/8" drill bit on Vegeta's head to make a hole, and use a piece of the tree as the peg. I cut the pieces of the tree off with wire cutters.
