They've shown off a Majin Vegeta prototype so now I can die happy. I seriously can't wait for Tien and Yamcha though and that kid Goku looks incredible. I may pick up SS3 Goku just for the new body sculpt but idk.

timone317 I always thought it was strange how they changed Goku's boot colors for the full color manga, anyway that's a pretty nice chart, you did a great job documenting the different color palettes. I also found it strange how during the android saga Goku's stripes and bootstrings colors got reversed (well technically speaking the bootstring became a washed out tan color istead of yellow). This last thing has nothing to do with colors but it's pretty interesting that Toriyama started drawing Goku wearing knotted bootstrings during the Namek/Frieza arc where previously they were more like ankle bands.

Vegeku I don't think he meant it like that, the figure they've shown looks like it's using manga colors and I think prodigy was just saying he wanted it to have anime colors like the original release, not the cel shading. Just minus the hideous spray tan of the original figure lol.

Only thing I'm not happy with is the color of his belt. It was purple in the prototype and now it's blue. Everything else looks great Why would you want his belt to be purple? Goku's Gi is Orange with Blue tones, wouldn't a purple belt just make it look inaccurate? In the anime Goku's wristbands and belt are a brighter blue than his boots and undershirt and when he turns super saiyan the wristbands and belt appear to be a bright purpleish blue color where as the undershirt and boots just appear bright blue. This gets progressively more noticeable with each super saiyan form just as his gi gets more yellow. They seem to have abandoned this cool effect in DBSuper and most recent DBZ animations, which is why you may not have remembered it.

I just noticed that the Shodo Neo Super Saiyan Goku figure has the same head sculpt as the battle damaged Super Saiyan Goku Dragon Ball Styling figure.

I'm really hoping they do too, maybe then Bandai America will start making other lines as well. What I'm really hoping for is a fully articulated 5" Irwin/Jakks scale line MajinRob

MajinRob Yeah I've seen those, the Dragon Stars figures are all right and those snap off armor figures would look good with a little paint work. The rest of them look pretty gimmicky though.

Figures keep getting worse. I'm surprised these aren't American figures. They look like the crap we get. I agree, it seems like the only figures we've been getting in the US lately are weird, poorly sculpted, mini articulated chibi figures. I don't mind chibi figures if they look good, I actually like DWC/WCF and Tamashii Buddies. But these look just as bad as (maybe even worse than) those Loyal Subjects DBZ figures.

That's pretty cool, that game has some pretty sweet character artwork, it doesn't surprise me that they'd use it instead of making new character portraits. It sort of reminds of how older figure packaging would just take pictures of the characters from the anime Branjita

Alden I'm pretty sure he uses Gundam Panel Lining markers. I think he's the same guy who painted the ssj Goku and he used those when painting that figure.

gp That sucks that it came broken, I'd definitely contact them about it, they're a very trustworthy seller so I'm sure they'd be cooperative about it.

The lines actually were present on the original figure. The lines are there to show how big the purple sections on his face are supposed to be. The reason you can can see the lines on this new figure and not the old one is because the purple sections were painted slimmer on this one.

That Trunks is a work of art, I seriously can't believe it's not an official figure.

tsarquise If having a high body count determined how important/iconic a Dragon Ball villain was then Majin Buu would be more iconic then the likes of Frieza. In anime/manga personality is everything when it comes to villains and that is something Nappa was severely lacking in. Don't get me wrong I don't hate the character I just don't think he was very memorable compared to other villains. You seem like a really cool guy but we both obviously have very different opinions, so let's just leave it at that before we get too off topic. After all this thread is about the figure and not the character himself.
