I've been collecting DragonBall toys since the late 90's. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff. I've owned 5 SBC 3-packs and a slew of other rare items, but this thing is like FAP Yardrat Gokou status.
Unlike the Yardrat Gokou though, we know for certain this figure exists. I'm one of the few that believes Yardrat FAP Gokou was nothing more than a prototype, but we've all seen loose Kami's. I even own one, but never have I seen pictures of it carded.
Some of those later AB figures are tough to find MOC, like Saiyan Saga Vegeta, form 1 Freeza, Yamcha (probably due more to popularity than rarity), maybe even Roshi and Yajorobe-- but Kami, not even a single image.

Hi all,
I came across the "new" AB figures back in 08 for the first time, and was on a hunt to get them all. Tracked down a loose set, and almost a carded one. Not looking to buy, but wondering has anyone seen a Kami on card? I've never even laid eyes on a photo of one.
A local dealer back around 2010 or 2011 (who stupidly acquired a bunch of my collection) was asking me how I got these figures, and when I pointed him to eBay France has been consistently selling loose ones for years. He always has a Kami, even has one now on eBay, but I've never even seen him post a carded one...
Any luck with the pic?

Very valid points, and I understand completely but speaking for myself, I live in New Jersey, so it's impossible financially for me to go all the way to California for SDCC. Even if you do live in San Diego, you still have to pay the cost of the ticket to get in to Comic Con PLUS the cost of the figure. That puts the figure around $100 for the lucky locals. It's actually cheaper for me to buy one off of a scalper and have it shipped directly to me. For international collectors, it's hard enough to get regular releases and no matter which character they release at SDCC, they ALWAYS have to deal with scalpers. There's also the online retailers that get the surplus and Bluefin that sells them directly for a small markup after a short while. These are perfectly good options for the international crowd as well as the American market. When it comes to the new sculpts, they could at the very least re-tool an existing figure slightly to give us a different form of it to meet demand for specific characters. For example, Cell Saga Vegeta (boot tips/black hair/SSJ Hair), Cell Saga Trunks (would only require new heads/boot tips), etc. There's also the collectors that already have Android Saga Vegeta, Trunks, and SSJ3 Goku. A repaint might not even be worth it if they already own the original release Just my 2 cents Where you at in Jersey Prodigy? I'm in Morristown myself

I myself don't want too many Buu saga figures, Mystic Gohan, Majin Vegeta, Veggeto, that's about it. I just fear we'll only get Buu saga figures as for the last while we got Android saga ones. That would suck to see them get that kind of one-track mindset. While I'm sure many would jump on Buu or Gotenks, I'd rather see Raditz, Bardock and Tenshinhan. But as a pseudo-completest all I have is a bootleg SSJ3 Gokou that needs to be replaced..
..speaking of bootlegs, logically, SSJ Vegeta would be the best choice for those looking to compete or those stuck with the Datong as a placeholder (such as myself). I think the inclusion of non-SSJ hair as faces would make this a killer release, but there's 2 things that I feel would hold it back. 1) a figure like that should get a mass-release. Not fair to non-con goers or those who have too many bills to overpay for a figure, and 2) they did a Vegeta last year, so I don't know if he'll get two in a row.

True-- didn't think about that! Will add the God Gokou too, even though I know purists would want a slimmer body mold for that figure.

Hey all--
For the sake of pure speculation and fun, what do you all think, or more so, what are you hoping the next SDCC figure will be?
We know these figures aren't new characters, don't undergo new tooling and have stuck with a theme of going anime colors as opposed to the mass-produced manga colors. Of the current releases that haven't already had an SDCC release, Krillin, both Androids, Broly and Freeza don't offer too many opportunities for repaints. Krillin could have his eyes fixed, while Freeza could go a lighter shade of purple, and I know there's been Broly releases with greener hair from other companies, but these would all be pretty lackluster releases for a comic-con exclusive. So from what was left, I narrowed it down to the four biggest possibilities:
Perfect Cell (anime) Trunks (manga) SSJ Vegeta (or non-SSJ Android Vegeta, or include hair/faces for both) SSJ3 Gokou
All of these are earlier releases that would allow newer buyers to get these characters in their collections. For the purists, the color schemes could be different enough to warrant a re-buy, well, at least in my opinion.
Remember- we won't know until probably June. None of these may even be offered, and there could even be a chance (a tiny one, hopefully) that Tamashii could skip an SDCC release altogether. Hoping that won't happen and it's one of the above!
Thanks for guessing!

Threw my vote in! Tenshinhan and Yamucha are musts!! Would love to add these guys.
My other 2 most desired, well, not so much for others: Cyborg Frieza and the Namek (shoulderless) Vegeta. That's my favorite Vegeta look, don't know why, just always has been. I have the Jakks version (which was too blue), the HG gashapon, the HSCF, the Real Works and the Super Collection versions of this armor. The Super Collection is one of my all-time favorite figures from any line.
For the fifth, I'd like a Kami or a Bulma, but know those aren't really the Figuarts standard, so I went with Nappa hoping that prototype doesn't go to waste.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate the feedback. I figured as much, that there was probably the Kai logo under the DBZ sticker on the US releases, I just needed to be sure before I dropped the 300 plus!
Currently in my collection I have:
SDCC Gohan SDCC Piccolo SDCC Vegeta Gokou SSJ Gokou Saiyan Saga Vegeta Kuririn Android 17 Android 18 SSJ Broly Manga Piccolo Datong SSJ Vegeta
I did order that bootleg SSJ3 Gokou as a placeholder, so that should be coming to me, and I'm working on buying a Trunks and Frieza soon. That'll leave Cell as the last figure I need, but officially, I'll need Cell, manga Gohan (who I'll get when they re-release), a real SSJ Vegeta and SSJ3 Gokou, and SDCC SSJ Gokou. I think I'll have to make due with the two bootlegs and possibly never owning an SDCC Gokou though.

Hello all. I was an old member of the DragonBall Toy Island waaaaaay back in the day and have been an avid DragonBall collector for years. While I've slowed down a bit, I couldn't resist the Figuarts line any longer, and last summer I bought the Gokou and the SDCC Vegeta. Since, then, I've picked up a few more, and now I'm closing in on finally having a full set.
As I'm ready to take the jump on Trunks, I noticed some overseas have the "DragonBall Kai" logo on the front of the box, under the figure. While most releases I know of have a "DragonBall Z" sticker in the place, I'm wondering if the 'Kai' is what's under all the stickers? The Toei sticker, Tamashii and BanDai logos are intact, so I don't think it's counterfeit, but with the Datong versions and now this new SSJ3 Gokou bootleg out there, for the $300+ Trunks cost, I just want to make sure what I'm purchasing in genuine.
Thanks so much!!
