MajinRob I'll hold off on taking pics with the boxes until you determine whether or not you're going to louse photos from other sources . If you still want them, that's cool, just let me know how you want them taken. I'd still prefer to use your photos, if that's okay. Just photograph the boxes from several angles (front, back, sides, top) and the same with each figure. Also; when I give you credit on the page these images will appear on, would you have a website or email youd like me to link to? If not I can just put "Images thanks to SerenityDarko". Thanks so much.

Low covered a Rihanna song and made it moving and beautiful. Check this out, you won't regret it.

@ MajinRob you can find tons of plain photos of those, if you just google the japanese provided. Especially on auction sites. One note about the bootlegs, some of the Knock off's sets have a copied packing from the original.(no Toei sticker). The most common bootlegged sets are SEAP Vol 1, and Action Pose Vol 3. I was unsure if using photos from auction sites would be in good taste or okay with the person selling the item, so I figured the best bet would be to use official photos provided by manufacturer to websites selling the product or ask those who own the item. What do you think is best? Don't want to step on anyone's toes, but I do want to build a very complete and thorough database for collectors..

I'm like you, in the way that I don't like to open my figures. If they're able to be opened and then placed back in the packaging then thats one thing, but for the most part I don't open squat. If I want to open it bad enough, I'll buy two.

There are a lot of deeply moving things I have read in this topic. I sincerely hope that all of you can have good lives. As for me, well, my reasons are lot more selfish. I collect figures because I'm a materialistic person and I like to have this 3D representation of my favorite characters from this show that I like. I don't have to take responsibility for things like food and water yet so I'm doing it now while I can. When it's time for the serious things in life to take over, they will. I must admit, behind my deeper reasoning for collecting like I do, I really just like having some stuff from a show I love. Hahaha.

Awesome collection! That Toy Fair 2006 exclusive kicks ass, though it is indeed ugly.

I don't have the box for Gohan, but I can do it for the other 3. I would greatly appreciate it! Even if you don't have the box for Gohan, that still helps me a great deal. Post the pics here, or PM them to me. I'll send you a link once they're up on the site.

I am not underestimating the effort he has put at all, nor do I think he's overpricing them. I just can't afford buying two blast effects for the price of 1 figuart. I wouldn't pay more than $10 for them and this is only accessible if they were mass produced. Agreed. It's hard to justify accessorizing your current figures when you still have a collection to complete.

I have 4 of Action Pose ones (SS3 Goku, Gohan with Z Sword, SS Goku vs SS Vegeta) if anyone wants to see those next to anything . SS3 Goku and Gohan are way bigger than the other two. Could you do me a big favor? I'd really like it if you just took some clear shots of the figures and the packaging, against a rather blank background, so I can use them on my website for Dragon Ball action figure reference. I'll give you credit on the page they appear, but I'll also add my site's watermark so they can't be used else where. If not, it's all good, I understand how these things can be. Thanks a ton!

Old thread, hope its okay to post still. I'm 26 and will be 27 soonish. Still get the same enjoyment from the Dragon Ball franchise as I did in the mid '90s as a kid.

This topic is something that hits home for me. Others are sharing personal and humbling stories as to why they collect, or why they get satisfaction from such a thing and I think I will too.
My child hood was great. I was adopted by grandparents out of an abusive home and given the world. My grandparents showered me with love, affection and spoiled me relentlessly. These were excellent times. I honestly wish I could relive them, as things in my life have soured significantly. In the last ten years everything about my life that was good has died, been lost or been taken, in one way or the other. Without going into too much detail; my life was turned on its head many times over.
Growing up I was always nerdy. Things like anime, manga, comic books, Ninja Turtles, music and other things always captivated me. Now at the age I am, my mid twenties, I am without doubt as to why my hobbies are what they are. Like the OP said, I am trying to recapture something that made me feel good during my childhood. Some people don't understand this, I don't expect them too. What I do know is that my hobby makes me feel happy and it doesn't hurt anyone. I'm in a happy relationship and will be married some time next year. My fiancé certainly doesn't think ill of my hobbies. She actually encourages them.
I've thought long and hard about why I collect, why I like what I like and the reasoning behind my hobbies. I hope you do too. If you find your hobbies don't hurt anyone and are ultimately healthy, then why stop? If it makes you happy, then let it continue to do so. For some people, they may find themselves having issues with continuing a collection. If this is happening to you then think long and hard as to why this may be. You might need to take care of something personal and important before your brain will allow you to continue something like a figure collection. Take care of your responsibilities first, then the pleasures of collecting will be all the more rewarding.

Thats an interesting factory error, Kuwabara. Do you think you'll ever open the factory seal and put it back in correctly?
