That's actually the 3rd series of the DB ones, there were 2 produced series for DB. I can't recall the exact assortment, but Yamcha was in series 2. It's a real shame they didn't continue that line, even though the inconsistent scale bothered me and still bothers me lol. It's also a real shame that Dr. Wheelo and Hildegarn never made it into the Movie Collection series, nor did Garlic Jr. or Turles. Its been so long I guess I forgot lol. But yeah, I would have loved for this line to last longer. I vaguely remember seeing the Roshi and Goku before but not sure if I saw the other prototypes. I also think I read somewhere a while back that this line evolved into the smaller dragon ball figures for whatever reason. I think the reason we didn't get the first 3 movie characters in if labs was that at the time lord slug was the first dbz movied dubbed by funimation and they didn't go back and do the first 3 until later but I'm not for certain.

That 2nd series of dragon ball figures would have been amazing. Ox king would probably work for any collection.
I wish the yu yu hakusho toys would have lasted longer. I want that toguro so bad and the only villain they ever made was suzaku

The thing that I find strange is that walmart hasn't picked these up. They sell other bandai stuff, maybe its just a matter of time

I might go ahead and order black from there. But when I was calling gamestops I was told that all gamestops get their big shipments on monday and a smaller on tuesday so I'm going to go on one more hunt tomorrow. Also walgreens gets new stuff Wednesday night. Hopefully someone will be able to use this info and find the figures they are looking for.

Hey doomprevails88 have you been able to find goku black or ssb goku anywhere around you? Those are the last 2 I need and no one seems to have them. If anyone else in Indiana has any leads that would be greatly appreciated. Heck, if you are one state away I would probably make the trip at this point if anyone knows where I can find these. Update: Got ssb goku. I called 28 gamestops and stopped at 7 different walgreens but I found him.

I just got broly as a gift. I'm sitting here looking at all the pieces and I'm not sure if I want to build this lol. How hard is it? Does anyone have any tips? I haven't built any models other than the old irwin ones.

I think the thing with Walgreens is they dont put the new waves out until they sell off the old ones. I collect transformers too and the local Walgreens has had the same 2 on the self since the came out almost 2 years ago. Bigger stores like Walmart will eventually send the old product that doesn't sell back or clearance it.

Oh yeah, I looooved KB Toys as a kid. You could walk out with armloads of Toybiz Marvel and Irwin DBZ and 80s toys from warehouse buyouts for next to nothing...those were the days. We had a "Toy liquidators" in Columbus Indiana that was amazing too! I payed 250 for a loose mint Omega and considered myself lucky. You guys are extremeley fortunate! Oh yeah, I remember that store. I live like 20 mins north of Columbus lol. Small world, I live an hour away from Columbus

Underrated:
striking ginyu, in a line of mostly duds he was really cool and finally gave us a proper sized ginyu.
Overrated:
All the late jakks figures that share the same legs/arms. Don't get me wrong it was nice to get some figures that we hadn't gotten before (bojack) but it came across as extremely cheap and lazy to me.

Yeah they were just an Irwin subline that made the movie, bigger dragon ball, and yu yu hakusho figures. Not sure when they started calling it movie collection but probably when jakks took over.
I still remember the commercial for if labs that played before coolers revenge on the vhs tape. Man I'm getting old.
Another cool thing about if labs is they originally were all hand painted but I have no clue if this carried over to the movie collection or not.

These are all great. If I had to pick one as my favorite it would be Cooler because he's my boy. You got anything new in the works?
