I wanted to share my progress on my 5 inch scale collection in the past few months. I’ve been getting really back into Dragon Ball again after hanging out with more friends who are getting into it. For reference, here is my childhood collection, plus a few random figures I owned.  After roughly 5 months of collecting, here is where it is now!  Some notes: -The Dragon Stars Krillin will eventually be customized into a 5 inch Yamcha. -One of the Buu Saga Vegetas will be turned into a Majin -Im so happy to have the Jakks 2 pack “clean” Frieza, I was looking all over for even just the battle damaged one with the tail, and lucked out finding one in a lot. -The collection is still a work in progress! -Not pictured is Dragon Stars SSJ2 Goku, Majin Vegeta (who sadly broke..) and Figuarts 1.0 original releases of Piccolo, Gohan, and Trunks who all live on a separate shelf. The collection is looking good! Since it's still rather small, it's a great idea (if you can swing it) to buy someone's entire collection off ebay for $500 or so. It's the best use of your money, and you'd only be paying the one shipping charge. It's best to wait for a collection that comes up with a bunch of rare Jakks figures in it though. King Cold, Semiperfect Cell, Raditz, Saiyan Saga Vegeta, Bojack, and a bunch of other important ones are too expensive now-a-days to buy individually.

futureztrunks67 , you have a great collection! I have a lot of 5 inch dragon ball figure now but i don't have some of yours (frieza final form, kid gohan ssj; the one with better articulations; the angry normal form goku...), it's so cool to see them here! Every day, i watch the sales hoping to find a new figure that i don't have... it's like an infinite quest! haha! Don't stop, friend! Branjita is right, years ago i bought someone's collection on ebay. It was a great collection boost for me! What display do you have in mind? You have to do something!

Thanks for the kind words. Branjita Yep, that’s been the plan, i’ve been buying mostly in lots, thats how I got the Frieza’s and the various Jakks figures seen there. The only ones I’ve gotten individually are the SS Goku, Trunks, and Jakks Vegeta as I wanted to make sure those were complete. I want to collect most of the “main” characters and forms first before moving to specifics, like Saiyan Saga Vegeta. Maybe i’m just too used to Dragon Ball games I played as a kid where one base form Vegeta represented all his forms throughout the series. futureztrunks67 , you have a great collection! Hah, yep, been scanning various listing and lots with figures I don’t have… As for collection, sadly right now they are sitting in a bin, spread apart to avoid paint damage, but hopefully some day i’ll have the space for all of them.  My only shelf space right now is reserved for Transformers. |
