Well, I was told Nappa was in Japan, so I imagine they are sitting in some drawer... some office... or some box in a Bandai warehouse.

Quick question! What happens to nappa and that shenron that they displayed at Comic Con? Either they'll be scrapped down for plastic or just put away to be forgotten. What A WAIST!!!!!!!! They should put in on ebay as prototype figuart! They would have so many people bidding!!!!!

They could reuse this Nappa for Spopovich with some retooling lol. Though it's hard to imagine Spopovich being important enough to deserve a figure, when we don't even have all of the main characters yet. Spopovich wouldn't make very many people's top 20 lists, and very few top 10 lists.

I agree. It seems like a lot of people are wanting these specific characters lately on here, facebook, and sideshow: Nappa, Raditz, Tien, Yamcha, Super Buu, Majin Vegeta Hopefully Tamashii will get them all made soon. I'd really like some Saibamen and a kid Gohan if they ever make Nappa, Yamcha, and Tien (with Chaozu). I wish they would wait to produce the Buu Saga characters until Buu Saga is on TV in the US. Them showing off Vegetto/Vegito at SDCC surprised me, because I didn't expect him at all! I was expecting several other characters, just like most of you guys were.I believe I read on another forum that somebody asked about Buu and they were going to wait for the television show to line up to release more of those saga characters.

Tamashii insists about that? So they can release that huge Broly as a web exclusive for 6500 Yen, but not that Nappa.......? Right . . . Yeah the 16 is too short, but it has nothing to the Nappa release either way. Nappa is obviously scaled to fit in with the over-sized Vegeta. And he is accurate to the artwork. But you do understand that making him smaller meaning that the artists need to re-sculpte the entire thing, setting back the entire production run by miles. What was shown was an unfinished prototype. I'm positive that what Tamshii have in mind for the released figure will be fantastic. If Nappa will be one of the releases for 2015 that would be amazing. I'm pretty sure that Tamashii released a statement along those lines last year, yes. Maybe I'm remembering things wrong, but I'll dig through old threads if you don't believe me. I know Nappa is scaled to fit with Vegeta, but I still think he is too big even for that. And since what I'm really going to want is to have him posed with Piccolo and Goku since he has no armour on... He's going to be too big for that. I do know they would have to re-sculpt the entire thing, but I'd be willing to wait another year for a better-scaled Nappa. We had to wait forever to get decent-looking Androids and normal Goku, anyway. I'm okay with waiting. Of course, if he's released next year, I'll buy him regardless of his size.

Like I said gs, if they can release the Broly for 6500 Yen, an even bigger figure; there is no validation to say that they can't release Nappa. That statement is obviously rubbish.

@m5jagdragonpanzeriv, this would explain that. Gohan posted this from a sideshow member who works for Bluefin: "As some of you may remember, I was able to work at the Tamashii Nations booth last October for New York Comic Con. Well they asked if I could help them again for NY Toy Fair and of course I said yes. I just wanted to report back with some news after speaking with one of their reps from Japan (this was a different guy setting up all the displays). He seemed to be about my age (26) and was very friendly. He said that Android 17 is next in the lineup with Kid Buu most likely following up after him to complete the main villains of the series. Super Buu and Fat Buu are much bigger versions and from what I gather, those bigger figures aren't favored by Bandai for production. He said Nappa and Shrenon are no longer a consideration." ichiGO KUrosaki posted this: "He said Broly is a 1st trial on big size characters and if it does well, they will consider other big characters, including Nappa. For Buu they obviously can't reveal anything but he hinted that if released, it will be around the time the series hits the Buu saga on TV (Toonami)."

Tamashii insists they couldn't release him because he's such a big character and he'd be too expensive. I'm pretty sure that Tamashii released a statement along those lines last year, yes. A distant associate pass on a tip he heard, you call this 'Tamashii released this statment'? Tamashii in their products lines offer some huge 25-30 cm Web Exclusives such as Biollante and Destroyah, the Chogokin stuff, for prices range of 100$-250$ and even higher. It would make sense that the Broly will come before the Nappa, to sort of test the market response for it (Being a more iconic character). I don't see any reason that the Broly will have weak sales, the db line-up of the Figuarts have been having very strong selling, and most of the Web Exclusives become no longer available and raise in price within very short time period. Even more so due to the low releases in the assortment. And again, given that they can release the bigger Broly figure, there is absolutely no reason or valdition that the Nappa can't be released as a product in their line-up. Unless that Tamashii Web Exclusive Broly will be a total failure, which I very doubt it would be.

For what it's worth, what The Great Saiyaman just copy and pasted from other people's posts is in line with things I was told at A-kon when I was asking similar questions. In other words, I was told the same thing. Since I'm not the source of that leak, I'll go ahead and agree with it . My memory from nearly exactly 2 months ago is starting to fade, and Adrenaline edited the Nappa stuff out of my post that contained information I was requested to remove (but I don't think Nappa was part of what had to be removed... but we did it back then just in case... so I'll retell what I remember...). So if I remember correctly, Nappa was cancelled due to fears that he would not sell in the quantities they wanted to sell. Bandai Japan only wants to produce main characters they know will sell well, and Nappa is large and would be more expensive. I was told that there was a Broly prototype and that since he was thought to be the most popular large character, he would be the one they test the waters with. (The removal of Broly stuff I typed was something that specifically had to be removed from my post, but since he is announced, I no longer have to hide that). Good sales of Broly could potentially open doors to other larger characters. Shenron was also cancelled due to fears that he would not sell well because he would also have to be expensive. I don't remember if I was told this, or if the representative just agreed with me, but Shenron was too skinny and just not a great representation of the character. I really liked the Shenron prototype when it was revealed last year, but after thinking about it, he really is inferior compared to the non-articulated options like the ichiban kuji, taki, and that other large one because of that body that never gets fatter. So, anyway, even though it seems like a pretty dumb decision, considering Nappa seemed like the most popular figuarts prototype ever (at least on DBF), they simply have no plans to actually produce that one. Now... I don't want to speak "definitively", but that is what I was told. I would love it if they changed their mind. I'd buy one if they produced him just like he is, but I would prefer an armored version. From my perspective, it would be nice if he was a little bit smaller, because he was made large like that because that is how he looks when he fights Goku. He wasn't drawn as big when he was wearing armor. He gained about 100 pounds of muscle for whatever reason during that fight with Goku. Information you get from me and other people who talked to Bluefin is only as good/accurate as it is at the time it is given. In other words, in the two months since I was told things, things may have changed. Example: At A-kon, I was asked what I thought about Vegito as a character. I wasn't told there was already a prototype. I was just asked what I thought about him as a character, so seeing Vegito at SDCC was a surprise. I believe what I told him is still in that A-kon topic, but if it isn't, I said something along the lines of "He's a character that mostly casual fans like just because he's powerful. He only fights one enemy and is only in a few episodes. I don't think he's in very high demand, but he might sell ok to people who really like super saiyans." I haven't been told any information by them since A-kon, so the things I was told are kind of outdated. I'm not sure why they haven't been communicating with me, I'm surprised and disappointed to be honest. :/ What I do know is that there are supposedly other prototypes that exist, and they are mostly characters you would expect. I don't want to throw myself under the bus by saying who they are, and don't want to throw the people who told me under the bus either by telling, so I won't. But they are characters you would expect. But on the other hand, no, they are not Tien and Yamcha. I was told they are not in the two year plan, so if you want them, you need to be vocal and let Bluefin, Tamashii, and/or Bandai Japan know who you want. Nappa is another character who is not definite either. I will be starting the new polls for voting on figuarts characters you want later this week, so that's how we will help show these three companies who we want.

Yeah you told me to delete the Broly mentions, and I decided to delete your mentions of Nappa as well, to be safe, but I remember exactly what you said. He was canceled indefinitely. In other words, no longer on the table. You can take that as permanent or not, but the fact Broly is getting a release has got to be a promising sign. As for the prototype's size, he is too tall, but I like the muscle mass on the Nappa. Since I need an armorless one, I thought he represented Nappa against Goku pretty well. If you remember, Nappa freaked out on Goku and bulked up big time.

@m5jagdragonpanzeriv, I didn't say I was %100 sure that Tamashii released a statement. I remembered hearing it, I remembered hearing things from Tamashii. Things got jumbled up in my head. Of course Broly will have good sales like many of the other large Tamashii exclusives. I personally never though Nappa was a very popular character, though. At least nowhere near as popular as Broly. I can see why people would be hesitant to release a large character if they might not sell well. In any case, I hope that Broly does well so that they will finally release Nappa, no matter his size.

If not for TFS, I wouldn't be nearly as fond of Nappa as I am. I'd still say he's one of the best big characters to make. Certainly better than Spopovich or something.
