I preordered mine from eKnightMedia. They said he releases May 30th, and that they’ll send a payment request when he gets to their warehouse and he’s ready to ship. Still haven’t gotten it

Well, not every collector happen to live in US or Japan to have the chance of buying them as soon as it's up for preorder, paying the retail price.
When I tried to import from Japan I had to drop 100% of the product + shipping in fees, that sucks.
When they are web exclusives they already arrive here expensive - and if I don't buy'em quickly they go up even more.
If shenron was a web exclusive here I doubt he would still be on retail..

The exclusives have been the way they have been for a long time now. It's just that production seems to have not grown with the growing number of collectors and popularity of Dragon Ball since Super came around and it's starting to cause the supply and demand price increases much earlier on now. If you want your figures, pre-order them on day one from a trusted retailer (day one being the key piece of information there) and you more than likely have nothing to worry about. With the way these figures keep scaling up in price though, I can see how preordering on day one may not always be an option for some people and that sucks. This is the same stuff that happens with other collectibles as well. I was heavy into Funko Pops for a long time (thank the lord I don't collect those anymore) and it was even worse than these. If you weren't on the website the second an extremely popular exclusive went live, you were SOL and stuck paying scalper prices. It could be much, MUCH worse for Figuarts.

This is probably my favorite outlook at the current situation. Thanks for this!

I apologise for the very newbish question, but what would the best place to pre order Trunks be? I've never messed with web exclusives before, and don't plan on making a habit out of it, but Trunks is a must. Seeing the fiasco that was Goku Black though, I would very much like to find the most stress free way of getting my hands on him.
Also, I just want to be sure, he is not up for pre order yet, right? Or have I already missed the boat? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

If you order early from Big Bad Toy Store, Entertainment Earth, Xavier Cal Collectibles, Ageless Geeks, etc. you should be fine. Just don't wait.

Cool, guess I'll just have to habitually check back here, to figure out when he goes up. Thanks man, that really helped!

Welp, I guess I should tell you guys to never use Eknight Media to pre-order a figure. I thought it was weird that they still haven’t sent me a payment request, I email them and ask what’s up, they tell me they emailed me a request but since I didn’t respond the item is now sold out. I looked through my email and didn’t see anything. I’m actually pretty pissed lol. Here I was like “oh yeah, I got my Goku Black early! I won’t have to pay scalper prices”.
But yeah, they’re sure quick to respond to emails but are completely unreliable.

Majin Vegeta is up on BBTS, currently, will sell out though soon!
I got him just now.
Gotenks is sold out already?!? I pre-ordered him as soon as I saw he came out, but this line is really popular for expensive figures especially.
It's good though, as that means more characters will be made!

Committed the ultimate sin of paying scalper prices. I had to. It’s Black. I hate myself now gn
I’ll probably sell my SDCC Vegeta since I don’t particularly like it

Mine was in my junk folder, and I just happened to look through it on the last day I could pay for it so it worked out for me. I've had a good experience with them though, I put in my pre-order for Frieza late too and they still ended up sending me one. That's too bad what happened to you especially since its Black, maybe change to a different email address...

I've seen nothing but good things about eknightmedia, except for one thing.
They have have pre-order cut off dates, but if you keep reading, they over sell pre-orders purposely.
They say they order more than they need, but lots of people never get what they order.
It's apparently a good site if you order before their listed cut off though. Real merch, reasonable shipping and times otherwise.

Yeah, my Paypal was actually tied to another email, but then again I also went onto that email and I still didn’t see anything from them. Also yeah, it sucks extra hard since it’s Black. If he had only been up to like 95 bucks I would have been (sorta) fine paying the raised prices. But, I ain’t getting him for any cheaper since I got screwed out of buying him for retail price, so I just gave in. He’s one of my favorite characters so I definitely needed him. Oh well lol
