I got curious, and decided to look at Sideshow and see what people were talking about. Interesting to see people talking about my time at A-kon. Kind of a shock to see that what I ended up not being allowed to say here (had to text Adrenaline to edit posts here because I couldn't get a fast data connection on my phone at A-kon) is still written on Sideshow.
Makes me wonder if Bandai Japan truly monitors DBF, or if they monitor Sideshow, and happened to see DBF because my topic was linked to on Sideshow and discussed for several pages. Odd/interesting. I guess on the other hand, they may have requested I remove it from here... and didn't request people remove it on Sideshow... because they don't monitor Sideshow, but do monitor DBF...?
Confusing. Wish I knew the answer to that.
It's interesting/funny that they had a poll and Yamcha was tied for the lead there too. This deserves a special emoticon LOL.
Silrian and a few others constantly bitched at me about my Yamcha bias by listing him as the first choice in the polls on DBF.
The amount of bad mouthing me behind my back concerning my polls sure is annoying--claims of bias, all because I left out several versions of characters already made (Vegeta and Trunks). Unfortunately that's like the pot calling the kettle black. It's actually kind of funny, because several pages will go by, and my biggest source of criticism,
Silrian, realizes multiple times it isn't too easy to make a comprehensive poll. "**** and then there's gotenks ssj or ssj3? I'm not gonna make another ****ing poll for that, just gonne write down they should add both ssj and ssj 3 hairstyles. " It's funny, because he bitched at me over... and over... and over... and over... and over... and over again about my pretty damn good poll, and here he is writing post after post of apologies and excuses for all of the mistakes he made.
Karma. I also forgot how much of a bully that guy was, but am reminded while reading his posts on Sideshow.
Here are some of the current polls if you guys have accounts and would like to vote:

www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?145150-Poll-Which-of-these-versions-of-DBZ-characters-would-you-prefer-as-SH-FiguArtsI voted for Nappa, because he makes the most sense to me right now. In the other one, the only preference I had at all was for Tien to not be in his white t-shirt. I'm disappointed my preferred adult Gohan isn't available as a choice. I'd rather have him in his blue gi. I think I left him off in my polls too though
. If people want Ultimate Gohan, Bandai should just include an Ultimate Gohan head/hair/set of faces with a blue outfit Gohan, and then people can put that head on their Goku bodies. Such a waste of money (and 3 to 5 month wait for a new DBZ figure to be released) just to get the same body yet another time with just a different head. And why Tien is specified to be in his white t-shirt is pretty weird. He doesn't ever fight in it other than when he is blasting Perfect Cell during the kamehameha struggle and when the Cell Jr's are kicking him around. Otherwise he's just standing there in it or removing it (DBZ movie 9) before fighting Future Trunks. I'd rather have a shirtless Tien, and if possible, a snap on green sash that goes over his shoulder. If not possible, shirtless is fine. If Bandai makes Tien and he's wearing his Buu saga outfit, I'm just going to be upset!
But I would imagine that's extremely unlikely.
Some people reference another poll on there, but I didn't see it.
It's interesting to see what many of the people on Sideshow vote for and say; particularly the people who aren't members of DBF. I think a lot of these people are fans of a lot of different series and aren't as DB/Z/GT focused as a lot of us here. From a research standpoint, it's interesting, because they represent the regular DBZ fans, while the members of DBF tend to be obsessed DBZ fans. Put another way, the people on there (who aren't members here) are possibly casual fans of DBZ than hardcore DBZ fans like many of us. Their polls end up with a lot more votes for Gogeta, Vegito, and Great Saiyaman than we get here, and I'm curious if those votes are coming from casual fans or not. Now... before somebody takes offense to that... I'm not saying that as an insult, because there are surely more casual fans world-wide than there are hardcore fans. Making both types of fans happy is the goal, because then Bandai makes the most money. Ex: Making a figuarts Ox King wouldn't make casual fans happy, but would make a few hardcore fans happy... but not sell well enough to actually make Bandai any money.
From my time at A-kon, I mostly interacted with casual DBZ fans. Only a few were hardcore (*cough* like our friend
jcub who I met and he hasn't posted yet *cough* lol). Most of these people I met watched a variety of anime and collect a lot of different things. But there were quite a few who only came to look at the DBZ figures, and walked off after looking at them or buying them.
Something I wonder about the results on Sideshow is whether or not people are able to have duplicate (triplicate... quadruplicate...) accounts on there. On DBF, we screen who joins, and if there is a duplicate IP address, we reject them. So our polls should be pretty accurate without cheaters. Silrian says "Ohoooo Vegeta tied with Nappa now, 35 votes in one day, great. Hope it's not a BS load of fake accounts." So that's why I brought this up. I hope their results are accurate or I just wasted a bunch of time analyzing the results.
This is a pic I found there. I saw this Shenlong sticker on ebay a few months ago. It sure looks cool in the background.
It's cool that the owner of these figures painted their clear display stands black.
I stopped reading at page 1871. That topic is exhausting to read.
