Yeah idk not really liking this whole advanced color trend they have going....I mean yes its great that everyone can get a chance at the old figures but idk. Just doesn't feel like collecting when you know they are gonna advanced color a figure when it becomes rare. I was fine with a one off with vegeta and trunks and even then use your variations on figures for comic con exclusive but now it seems it will become a trend. Thats half the fun of collecting I think is the feeling you got something awsome and rare but oh well. I will see if my enthusiasm stays enough to keep collecting them. i am on the exact same page as you on this topic. It kinda has taken a good amount of fun out of it for me personally.

Advanced Color releases demotivate me as a collector. The rarity factory makes this more fun than it typically would be.

As long as the original figures don't lose value, I don't mind the advanced color.

As long as the original figures don't lose value, I don't mind the advanced color. Trunks has already dipped from being upwards of 3-400 to a ( More sane I guess? ) 200 average. E: And that is with the figure just being announced, and coming with less accessories.

If the advanced version causes the price to drop lower than that, then I'll be annoyed.

Good thing about the PC figures to me is that it'll give Cell a more accurate coloring and SSJ3 Goku a much needed makeover. Vegeta was cool too I guess since they gave him boot tips (inaccurate, but they're there). After these though, they can stop. We don't need PC figures of the Androids, Frieza, and so on. Those would just be a waste of a release slot. Give us new figures and previously shown prototypes.

Advanced colours don't bother me at all, I paid £170 for Cell and £168 for trunks but the advanced colours don't put me off at all. I'm collecting because I like Dragonball not because I want a rare/expensive collection

I collect em cuz I like em and they're not an investment at all. I'm being buried with my figures.

Couldn't of put it better myself lol. id probably even pick up some of the premium colours just because lol. Im even looking in to saving up for the SDCC exclusives. Not because they are going for hundreds on eBay etc but because they are part of the collection. I will ill however be buying as many of Beerus as I can get my grubby little mitts on lol. not only is he an amazingly done character but the figure itself looks beautiful

It is not the price that I have a problem with I have no intention of selling my figures and never have and when I do its because they no longer are fun to collect not because they have hit some price point. But idk to me I feel the line has gotten less fun to collect because of this recollering. Which lets face it is simply used to reissue figures. Hard to explain how this change makes me feel as a collector...hmm so basically it further grey's the line between buying an action figure and collecting an action figure. I enjoy "collecting" ofcourse having the figures looking at the figures and posing are enjoyable and by all means contribute to why I collect/buy this line. But if someone were to take away one of these aspects that make this line so awsome to me...idk I think I might enjoy spending my money on something else more. This is my opinion so not bashing on anyone . Its not the price.

I'm collecting because I like Dragonball not because I want a rare/expensive collection I just hope that they don't have the line overtaken with advanced color releases. As long as we get a good handful of new ( ACTUALLY NEW ) releases, and not Ultimate Gohan's, my excitement won't be going anywhere but up. With all the talk of the advanced color releases being re-issues I'm surprised that we haven't had yet another pointless argument crop up that they are different figures. I'll likely still be buying the advanced color releases just for more options in poses and setups. I'm still trying to get into ACBA stuff and the more the merrier. Especially if we get a good release of Saibamen for crowd purposes.

I bought into this line back in April. I've paid over $1k on this line. Not bragging, just a fact. If the line goes to be worth less than retail? I was just going to keep the figures anyway, so whatever.
I do see how people who are 'speculating' on the ever increasing prices of the exclusives would be mad, but you're investing in action figures, not a high yield stock or something. There are much better things to speculate on.
Advanced Color re-issues keep the line alive for new comers, and helps out people who didn't want to spend $200+ on Cell/SSj3 Goku, and lets them still compete with DaTong.
As long as it doesn't get out of hand and kill off the collectors from the line, then I'm all for it. Like I said before, if we can still get a solid 3-4 releases a year, and even if the other 8 months are filled with Advanced Color releases, that's still par for the course of what the line was getting before.
