Are SDCC exclusives announced beforehand? Or is it a complete surprise. What were the past practices?

They give ya hints before it's release but we won't know for sure until it's out. Gohan was like a cereal bowl or something, piccolo was a black outline, and idk about Goku. Someone who had the chance to work with them at toyfair said it was going to be vegeta though, and in a recent interview the guy said "we had piccolo, gohan, and Goku... Who do you think is next?" And the interviewer said vegeta and the representative replied with good guess.

The cheapest option would be that Arlian Vegeta. I know this version is known among the fans and collectors, but is it popular enough to be a SDCC exclusive? Also, Scouter Vegeta has just been released, it is easy to find. I'm not sure if people already want another Saiyan Saga Vegeta.
They are probably planning something bigger like nice extras and stuff.

The only repaints I can think of is aralia vegeta and ss3 Goku, unless they wanna go manga repaints?

Cell Saga Vegeta looks basically the same on both versions.
Perfect Cell has some differences, but most people don't notice it. The one we have is manga colored.
Trunks has some minor differences too.

They could redo ss3 Goku in colors that don't suck, but they'd be better off doing that when they release Buu.

Right now I'm way more interested in what'll be the next SDCC exclusive. I hope it's another Super Saiyan Vegeta. Not paying the ridiculous price for him now. Lucky to get SDCC Gohan and Piccolo when I did. Have they dropped any hints as to who the next exclusive is?
