The whole "buy it then sell it if you don't want it" thing sounds like it could work with the way prices raise on these figures, but what if you buy it sealed, then open it, then decide to sell it? Seems a little riskier to me. But I don't really look into the prices much, so whatevs.

I'm not in the scalper business, I am just a old fashioned action figure collector. I say just buy one now, see how you like it, and then buy more later. If you don't like it, well just throw it outta the window or keep him on your shelf. Simple as that.

I'm thinking about joining the scalper business because the prices obviously won't stop going up and if you can't beat em' join em . I was going to try to buy from scalpers but I looked at my money then the figure and I personally decided it's not worth it.

in this line there's no huge difference in price wether it sealed or not. as long as it's in a good condition, you can sell it for just a little bit less than sealed. Huh. That's really interesting. Looking at eBay (Which I've been doing more in the past few months than in YEARS previously) there are not many sealed figures up in the market. When they DO come up, there usually isn't much if any premium put on them though. If you're ONLY looking for sealed figures, that aren't retail, you're going to be hard pressed to find good options. I'm thinking about joining the scalper business because the prices obviously won't stop going up and if you can't beat em' join em . I was going to try to buy from scalpers but I looked at my money then the figure and I personally decided it's not worth it. It's a somewhat dangerous time to "start" that thinking, as they have now announced effective re-issues of older figures. The "Exclusive" rule is no longer as hard and fast of a rule as it previously was. So while in the short term prices will inevitably climb on figures like Broly, 17, and 18; Figures that are staples like Krillin, Freiza, and Cell are more likely now to have "Advanced Paint Ver." releases. The only reason that I would bank on Broly, 17/18 not getting any kind of new release is soley due to their more recent release. None of the figures really have garnered the prices of SSJ Vegeta and Trunks outside of SS3 Goku though, so that is still something that is up to consideration. Tamashii may not care about caving to requests on this front until the price becomes so exorbitant that the line inevitably suffers due to collectors not being able to collect all of their characters for at least REASONABLE prices.

30 Vegito's. Damn!
When I start working again I'll start scalping, but not to that extend. I'll probably get a spare on the side like I did with Broly.

If we can't stop em, join em'' No, don't do that. Simple, wait untill something like the advanced colors or re-issues. Or, if you still have some sense left in you like me, you'd know 200 dollars is not worth for an action figure.. Consider it collectible, a piece of art, anything, but in the end, it's an action figure, a good one. And 200 dollars is not worth it. I mean, it's not hot toys. I know my opinion is not popular at all, but I do hate scalping because I think it's cheap as hell. Just me though.

Tamashii may not care about caving to requests on this front until the price becomes so exorbitant that the line inevitably suffers due to collectors not being able to collect all of their characters for at least REASONABLE prices. I'm thinking it may actually be as good a time as any to enter the scalping game. Not condoning it, but think it is a good time. These 'advanced repaints' as I understand are still exclusive and the exclusive rule still stands so eventually these repaints are gonna shoot up like the originals. Then what? Are Tamashii gonna come out with the 'super mega repaint extreme number one!' After that to once again get around their own exclusive rule? Where does the repainting end? Right now with the sheer number of figures coming out, entering the scalping game would be a decent move if you're looking to make some money and the only way to stop it is to remove that exclusive rule all together, these repaints do nothing long term, they're a temporary demand-aid and that's it. I've entertained the idea of scalping when I first read about these figures and their prices. I bought an extra Broly, and extra Gohan and a few others with the intention of holding onto them to see if they make some money, but I found buyers early and was happy to offload them for what I paid. Buying like 30 and then moving them seems like too much effort for me though, haha.
