I always thought that these action figures were made to be online exclusive.
They are simply more special, than lets say the WWE mattel action figures, or stat wars action figures, or the hasbro marvel movie stuff that comes out each year, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc and goddamn etc.
These figures are unique in that way, and that is what makes them good but at the same time just a little controversial for some people, and it does get bad with scalpers but oh well. I like seeing them as web exclusives more because it gives them their own epicness.

roshisurprise, no need for conflict at all! This is a public forum after all and we all have the right to state our opinions and participate in civilized discussion. I understand that there have been heated discussions before but trust me, I'm eager to hear your reasoning for what you believe, this is a conflict free zone!

Just like with other companies like Figma and Revoltech, these are high end collectibles, not just action figures or toys. I don't expect re-releases at all since the brand itself is that of an exclusive figure manufacturer. These announcements are just the company's way of saying, "Alright guys, here you go. Don't expect this often, last chance to get em". These aren't your regular Jakks and Irwin toys, THIS IS TAMASHIIIIIII!

Anyone that was around when this line first started in 2009, and seen how the first three releases skyrocketed at that time like crazy and went completely out of stock.(Piccolo and Manga Goku were going for 120$+ at the time) Tamashii must have realized the huge potentiel that this brand have, and that's why they decided to make the releases limited from that point. If you know anything about the collectible market, Bandai do control almost the entire toys and games industry for the franchise, it created a perfect statution for them to sale brand under the exclusive branding.

The idea of if scalpers drive any business and help a line is up in the air, people can have their own opinions. But, the poor sales of the line are a fact. As is the fact that Bluefin had to convince them to sell the figures in Western markets. I even recall reading an actual representative on another forum flat out saying the exclusivity was due to the poor sales.
It's not just the DBZ figures, either. Go onto any of the numerous Sentai or tokusatsu forums and you will see the issue of poor sales and low popularity causing web exclusivity being brought up all over. Take into account all of what they do, and not just act like DBZ is some exception to their business practices.
I am just talking about the original decision on web exclusivity, though.

as far as not selling well at retail i will share how i got introduced to the line.i was walking through a bargain hunt(discount store for those that dont know) with my girlfriend looking for bar stools.we went through the toy isle and i saw the arlian vegeta for $22.first thought was garbage since it was at a discount outlet and there were so many accesories plus the only dbz fig i could find so i left it.fast forward to me doing some research and i realized i screwed up.went back to get it and it was gone once i got caught up with the line i paid almost $80 for arlian vegeta.i dont know when the shift in value happened but i now preorder atleast one of every figure now wether i really want it or not.

Get em at retail when you can and if you don't want em later on, you can always sell em for more than you paid for it. Nothing to lose.

Kamen Rider is a different beast compared to Dragon Ball though. It has been going near-nonstop since 1971, continually introducing new characters, concepts and ideas year after year unlike Dragon Ball which when you really look at it, hasn't had the best track record in terms of staying power.
