ive wanted the grit teeth Goku face since the original releases, i cant believe we didnt get it or that it wasnt in place instead of the big grin face which was unneccessary as we had the smiley one.
im sure bandai have had this planned all along. i think it will get released apart from in Mexico because the fans are gonna kick up a real fuss if not
the new face is cool but the belt is still stupid.

Wouldn't surprise me to see some auctions on Ebay of the new face alone. Still going to go for a lot, I'd imagine.

I can see the new face getting casted and sold, same with the belt. Especially, if the belt is just the same one as SSGSS Goku's belt.

I don't see why some people think the belts are similar. The belt on SSGodSS Goku and the bottom half of the gi are all one piece, whereas the Namek Goku belt is a brand new part.

Yeah, this belt is completely different form any other belt we've seen. It's not Krillin or SSGSS Goku's. It's a brand new piece entirely.
Pardon my ignorance but what exactly is the problem with this belt? A few people have been complaining about the belt but I don't see anything wrong with it. Is it that it's too thin? Too short?

Does this open up for our market? Like not this one in particular. Like, maybe we can get a us exclusive vegeta in buu saga clothes or trunks in just his black tank top, or krillin in piccolo clothes (movie 10) or maybe even gohan (movie 9)?

I'd be surprised if they would spend money to make new parts (belt, face, chest) for just one extremely limited run. Those parts will probably turn up at a later point, either as this exact figure, or with some other colors.

Pardon my ignorance but what exactly is the problem with this belt? A few people have been complaining about the belt but I don't see anything wrong with it. Is it that it's too thin? Too short? It has to do with the ball and socket system hidden by the obi on every other Goku figure. There's a gap between the torso and waist that gives room for the torso movement. Normally it isn't a problem as they made his obi rather large to hide the gap...without the obi the gap is visible from almost all angles. Most people put on a Krillin belt and stuck the torso all the way down and left it at that but anytime the torso is moved the belt slips out of place and the ball/socket is exposed. The new belt they made is a bit big (also inaccurate) but it certainly won't be able to hide the gap when the torso is moved (actually the very bottom of the torso can seen in the first promo pic). Back when Krillin was released I made this image showing a potential solution to the belt problem that would require a new torso mold but might severely limit the torso articulation. It's a shame but until they figure something out (IF they figure something out AND release it) then slapping a belt on to the old Goku mold is the best option for his Saiyan/Namek saga outfit.

Those parts will probably turn up at a later point, either as this exact figure, or with some other colors. Exactly. We'll see this mold be re-used again for Saiyan Saga Goku (hopefully in anime accurate colors but most likely manga colors). We'll most likely see Namek Goku as well in the same fashion. I think the only problem with this Mexican release is that it's gonna have a special packgaging, special coloring, and a bonus face. The web exclusive release will not have any of that, but there WILL be a wider release of this. The only reason there would be a wider release is for Japan's sake. Oh and timone317, thanks for the in depth explanation

yeah thanks timone317 for that i said it was like SSGSS GOKU's belt because that is a mixture of sash and belt and thats what theyve done on this namek Goku i thought they were just being stupid but it seems they are being lazy and stupid! its not surprising though that they wouldnt want to make a new mould for Goku (apart from the new bits for SSGSS), theyve got some real mileage out of it, why not keep going!!

I'm pretty baffled for the hate on this figure. Yes, it uses a Goku sculpt. Because it's Goku. Its got a new belt, that looks realistic, and looks like Gokus belt. I don't know what else people would want? Not to use a Gokus sculpt for Goku?

If you dont see anything wrong with it then good for you its not hate per se, its just frustration at the typical bandai behaviour, given the popularity the line has gained i'd hope we could expect more by now, thats all.

I'm pretty sure this will be our SDCC edition. But it's an exclusive for the Mexico event PRODUCT INFORMATION: New version of his suit now with Kanji "GO". Interchangeable heads for different facial expression. One of the interchangeable faces is unprecedented and was designed especially for this edition. Interchangeable hands for different poses. Kamehameha effect! Exclusive package for Mexico.
Retail price 650 MXN ($42.3 USD Approximately). Re-read the text you just bolded... Exclusive package for Mexico. I mentioned before in another thread that I'm half-Spanish and the word "empaque" can also be translated to "packaging" and/or "box" but in a lesser sense it can also can mean "look/characteristics" (as in the English lingo: "That person has the total package"). However, I'm fairly confident the use here is a reference to the packaging. I think this will be the SDCC Exclusive. However, the figure will have a unique and specialized BOX just for the Mexico event (Maybe with the Mexico event convention logo or something else). And there will be a separate SDCC packaging for the Comic-Con version release.

The dislike that I have (and some others) is Tamashii's business of releasing a popular and important depiction of the main character as an event Exclusive and NOT as their "Regular"/Web Exclusive release. I'd gladly trade Ultimate Gohan as the SDCC/Mexico Exclusive and have this as the standard release.

I don't see the point in raging UNTIL everyone is absolutely certain this isn't also the SDCC exclusive (even then there's little point in raging). It doesn't seem ridiculous to think the SDCC is just being added to another region which would be a good thing.
