And considering the size of Nappa, he would possibly end up being the largest SH Figuarts figure of all time released if he was indeed put up for commercial retail (Barring a couple other figures though).

I agree that I wouldn't mind paying a higher retail price for Nappa but all we can do is dream now

Pwn gave another update: Hi guys,Back from day 3. It's been really enjoyable working at the booth! I spoke a little more with the one of the lead product managers who works at Bandai Japan. Nothing ground breaking to share of course but he was very friendly.Basically there's no decision as to who's next after Goku...it's totally up in the air and like I said, will depend on heavy discussions after this con. He was telling me the difference between Japan mindsets and American mindsets. He said in Japan they just like the normal, main characters. They really don't care for miscellaneous characters. When I said American's really seem to like Brolly, he said "Why!? He's just a villain in a movie..." haha. I told him that people love that he's an evil Super Saiyan with a cool design and is very strong. He said, "hmm, interesting."He said Majin Vegeta is very cool because he is also evil but much more popular than Brolly. He's interested to know more about what we think and asked if I could ask the community on your thoughts for future releases. I told him that American's like more variety instead of buying the same character with different variants. He gave me his card so I can email him back with some helpful feedback from you guys. This could be a great opportunity to have our voice heard:) In light of Pwn's connection, he's decided to make a thread with a poll so he can pass that feedback to his newly acquired contact as a descent representation of the community. If you want to vote in this poll you'll have to make a Sideshowcollectors.com account to post. Here's the thread: www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=135105

so japan prefers normal characters. ugh how many signatures can we round up on a single entry of a figure to show our interest . leave it to japan and we will get Goku (x5) Vegeta (x4) gohan (x3) with no villians. I would understand no villians for certain series but DBZ shouldnt be one of them.

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised Japanese fans only want boring blonde hair Saiyans, especially when you have tons of more interesting characters to choose from. And the fact that the guy he asked didn't even know Brolly was popular over here just shows how out of touch they are with what American fans want.

I've been quietly laughing at most Nappa posts I've seen...they don't want to release it because of how large it is and how much it would cost...what have most people been saying since it was shown? "Yeah, this is nice, but where's the alternate torso with full armor?" I think that's absurd...we could be talking about a figure that would go for at least $75, and people want them to squeeze in another torso with it, possibly sending it to $90? Idk...maybe they can make a scaled down version to help with the cost issue.
Soooo...no point in hoping for movie characters. Major bummer but there are still plenty of others I want from the main series...World Tournament Gohan in his blue gi, the Goten/Trunks two pack that's apparently happening, Majin Vegeta that also seems to have a good chance of coming, Kid Buu...Vegito/Gogeta (good chance)...
Really cool of PwnStar511 to go to this much trouble...I'm still not going to Sideshow to say that or to put in any votes on the poll...and really, what's the point in that or any poll? Even with the possibility of direct fan feedback being sent to them it seems Bandai has a "take it or leave it" mentality on the line. I'm too deep into the line to bail on it and I'm not stupid enough to suggest they should ignore the japanese market and only cater to us but damn...more Figuarts Zero and less minor characters with articulation.

timone said it best. It's take it, or leave it w/them. You know something, they are really starting to annoy me. I love this line, but I'm seriously thinking about boycotting krillin. Since they don't seem too concerned about adding other non saiyan characters. Why would I want to add a non saiyan to my collection, if all they want to throw at me are saiyans. They are starting to sound like a bunch of idiots over there. I don't care about other polls either. What's the point. And if I remember correctly, Broly was on one of their last polls. And now they're acting like he's not important. GET A CLUE BANDAI/TAMASHII!!!

Don't boycott Krillin just to make a point. I think that if he sells well it opens up the chance for the other Z Fighters in the future

Wouldn't buying Krillin help show interest in non-saiyan characters? The reason why they were hesitant, was because non Saiyan characters weren't selling that well. I'm confused. Well, I love the line, so I'm going to continue supporting it. I didn't want Saiyan Saga Vegeta, because I really only want his Buu Saga look, but wanted to support the line. I wasn't going to buy Frieza either, because I'd rather focus on the Cell and Buu Saga, along with original Dragon Ball Series with Kid Goku. However, I'm really like them since I got them. If I can afford it, I'm going to try to get them all!

It kind of makes me mad thinking we may get a SS2 Goku (just an assumption) instead of a Tien. I'm not as crazy about Yamcha but I need a Figuarts Tien. I almost wonder if some sort of protest would work. Get a ton of people to buy multiple Krillins to get the message out that we want Tien/Yamcha...but then again who wants more than one Krillin, and who has that kind of money, AND who knows if Bandai would even care.

I'll probably get hate for this, but I really feel this is being blown out of proportion. First of all, I don't get where people got the idea from they'd be getting a massive roster of first, second, third tier characters etc with this line. It's a deluxe prestigeous line, that's just started and tends to focus, in all of it's liscenced sublines, on main characters. Secondly the fact the Pwn spoke to a few product designers, as great as that is, doesn't mean their word is rule. Tamashii as a whole might end up making different decisions and they've clearly, explicitely set out to collect fan requests and input. I'm sorry but imo people are getting near to the point of arrogance here. I'm glad people from tamashii are even remotely being interested in what collector communities have to say. We, people on this board, on other boards, only constitute a smaaaall percentage of everyone who buys these. The majority of Buyers probably barely care enough about the show/have enough money to collect more then a few of their favorites, especially considering their price. It's pure common sense tamashii would focus on the main characters, who tend to often be saiyans. If you dislike saiyans, I really don't get why you'd watch DBZ at all (DB, different story, literally).
Now take a step back, stop demanding all kinds of stuff and just ask yourself, is there anything of interest for me this line has to offer? If so, what could realistically get enough widespread appeal to get here and are their ways to perhaps influence this? Turns out, now there are. Opinions differ on the measure of it, maybe Pwn's news was a blow to what you hoped was the case, but then that might be a reasonable correction of your own POV, because Pwn made it clear Tamashii puts a hell of a lot of research into deciding what they release. Multiple releases have also bern pushed into existence directly by polling the customers. So before you start calling them idiots, try to contemplate whether your own POV might hinder you from a more neutral business perspective. If you think saiyans aren't EASILY the most popular DBZ characters and with it, the most wanted, maybe you might be the one who's out of touch withe the AVARAGE DBZ fanbase, instead of Tamashii/bandai. Not to mention the fact that DBZ does have a different status, apparantly, in Japan.
I'm sorry if your favorites seem far and away in having an SHF release, but honestly, as much criticism as I might've expressed on certain releases (one upcoming in particular), I still think they're overall doing a great job, trying to interact with the fans and making versions of DBZ characters I'd never dared to hope for years back. So that's my pov, take it or leave it, vote or don't vote, whatever, do as you please. I'll be over here, appreciating that which does get released. Yes, I am that annoying 'glass half full' type of person (usually).
