Another unsuccessful hunt today  checked several targets and walmarts no kaioken goku... i did find dragon stars gamma 1 and gamma 2 for a decent price, so guess its not that bad. the hunt goes on |

Huh guess that’s why we didn’t see an announcement prior, wonder if it was a case of stores putting them out early
Really interesting that he’s outright a Walmart and Target exclusive, means the budget figures there at least do well enough to warrant it.
Him releasing this month alongside Metal Cooler is interesting. Makes me kinda wonder if they’ll handle future rereleases of Goku, Vegeta, and possibly 4th Form Freeza and Adult Gohan this way. Like give them a new coat of paint in a form that already has a figure and throw it out as an exclusive budget release. Would be a good way of making sure the most typically in demand figures are easily available (they had to have taken notice when something as basic as Blue Vegeta one that anniversary rerelease poll), while allowing them to continue releasing the more collector oriented stuff outside the budget line
Idk if I’m even making sense but this figure fascinates me lol

The boiling pot water will steam the spoon wood. I hope this makes better sense. Metal Cooler looks great. This is what I’m having for lunch:  |

I find it funny we're getting this in the same week as Metal Cooler, who released just a few weeks after LSS Goku did in Japan, since all three of them appeared in Movie 6 (Goku obviously didn't appear in his Namek/Freeza arc gi, but he still did use both Kaio-ken and Super Saiyan there.) Watch them re-issue SROE Goku and announce Proud Saiyan Prince Vegeta for the hell of it lol.
That aside, Kaio-ken doesn't look too bad from what I've seen, but this is a really bizarre way of re-releasing him, since the original was the same price and a regular release at that, so there's no reason they couldn't have other than maybe the paint? Idk, if I find him then I'll probably get one, but if not I still have the one from three years ago.
Metal Cooler looks pretty good from what little of him I've seen so far. I've heard he's got a sort of slippery feel, so maybe that's some sort of repellent Tamashii are using to avoid getting scratches and finger prints on him? Either way, I'm not touching him without gloves when mine shows up.

I will not be handling my Metal Cooler once he shows up. He looks to me like a pretty special Figuarts who will become hard to replace should anything happen. I want to be careful with this one.

yeah to me it seems like a fake. Tamashii's goal is to make money. It doesnt make sense to release a figure and not make an announcement to hype it up.
although... several people has claimed it already.
This would be a lot of effort to fake/prank a quite niche audience... lol. Is there something I'm missing, like where people got duped with KO's from Walmart, or something? Otherwise, I don't quite follow that trail of thought |

If/when they get around to doing Lord Slug, Goku’s “False Super Saiyan” form will no doubt be a retooling of this figure.
