Okay guys, so a member from the Sideshow Collectibles board is volunteering at Taashii's NYCC booth and he managed to ask quite a few for us. I'll pass the news along to here. I'll give a warning though, quite a few members on this board will probably not be liking what they're about to hear, at least to some extent.

I was able to ask some of the questions you guys asked and surprisingly they answered quite a few. The biggest thing I gathered was that there's a lot more that goes into which figures they decide to release than just fan requests. There's a ton of market research, R&D, etc that they must satisfy before going ahead on a final figure decision.
Which leads me to Nappa. They're not sure they are going to release him actually because he is a very large figure that requires a lot of tooling which would drive the MSRP way too high...especially for a character that is not nearly as popular as the other saiyans.
They said the saiyans are the most successful figures in the line which is why we primarily see them over all other characters. They actually have MANY prototypes created already but haven't shown them because they don't know which one's to put out yet. We are more likely to see a Vegito, Gogeta, Majin Vegeta or even a SSJ4 Goku(!) over a buu first. Villains aren't as popular in Japan which plays a major role.
They are waiting to see the results of the NYCC poll to see how the east coast fares against the west coast's SDCC poll to determine the future of new characters.
They are very interested in releasing a Goten and Trunks 2 pack! And in regards to the overall success of the line, it is one of their most successful lines out there and isn't going away anytime soon. So just be patient guys. There are tons of characters to get to unlike MMPR; it's just a really involved internal decision.
I would guess the reason the androids weren't there was because it's still up in the air what to do with them. They just want to show the definitive releases which as of now ends at Goku. They also mentioned that they just wanted to get this normal Goku out now since they've been showing him for 3 years already. It would have taken even longer if they had chosen to go with a different gi/sash.
Hope that answers some questions.
So there you have it, thanks to this guy who really came through for us. If you get a chance thanks PwnStar511 yourself. Clearly the line's doing well, which is great, but you can put off the whole debate on smaller characters (deserving releases or whatever), especially villainous ones, because it's very unlikely to happen.

Except for not having a Buu in the foreseeable future it all sounds good to me. Shame about Nappa though but I can understand about not wanting to price themselves out of the market. I'm still sure we will see a Yamcha and Tien as they are important heroes to the show and as they said the heroes are more popular. That they aren't against releasing smaller characters as multipacks is great. Also that the line is doing so well is fantastic as it means we will be getting a lot more figures before it ends. I'm sure there is going to be a fair bit of debate about this but I am happy

Damn, good point Aussie, they are genuinely considering 2-packs, hadn't really realised that one yet.

fair bit of complaining...there's nothing to debate really, it's not like a string of posts can change any of what they said. The only thing I can really complain about is a possible SS4 Goku...do not want. GT can wait, especially since it seems we're in for main character variants already (counting Gogeta and Vegito as variants to Goku and Vegeta). BUT...I like the fact that Majin Vegeta was mentioned.
figured as much with Nappa and that's pretty much what I've been saying for a while, it just came out too big. Disappointing but...eh. Personally I don't care about him. I really don't. I'm kind of confused as to why they're so reluctant to show anything, I think it's been established these limited production figures WILL sell. I'm not saying anything about Tien and Yamcha, regardless of what's been said on here and the Facebook feedback it doesn't seem worth discussing until they show a prototype or something.
(refuse to go to Sideshow...I can already see the whining about Nappa, but it was cool of PwnStar511 to go to that much trouble)

About Nappa; I've been saying that for ages now. It's just common sense really. As for the part about the R&D for possible future releases, all I can say is "bollocks"... common sense strikes again! Of course Goku is more popular than Kid Buu, it is a show chronicling his adventures. The show is about Goku, it doesn't take a genius. If he can get us a solid release date for Krillin and Goku I'd be chuffed.

ashboi89 it's not confirmed yet. I think Pwn speculated on the twins himself, but they're not present at SDCC that's for sure, so that's too bad. I'm gonna be really disappointed too if we don't get them after having seen near perfect protos. But since the line is apparently confirmed to be one of their most successful ones, I think we'll see them popping up. Branjita I'd keep my expectations low, just saying... They've now blatantly come out and said they're mostly interested in saiyans.

Silrian I loved they gave him insight on the line but it was dissappointing.Never had an 17 and 18 figure before and i was looking forward to them they should have just shown more saiyans then but definitely excited for the goten/trunks 2 pack (if made) hopefully they get packed with a lot of accessories because they are gonna be SMALL. We pretty much all know that saiyans are the ones that sell the most but tien would have been nice ... i dont really like yamacha he just seemed so useless. No defining moments for him.. except getting stabbed throught the chest by gero blown up a saibamen oh and tien broke his leg in dragonball.

I'd call that pretty defining moments for the character. I wonder what the release after Goku will be though, like, all bets are off it seems.

Just as I figured about this line from the start. It will be like the other lines that have come and gone like the hybrid figures where they just make 50 Saiyans, Piccolo, and a few villains.
