That person sucks at posing, aren't all the hands he puts on backwards for the most part?

Yeah, Goku needs to go to the plastic surgeon and ask for a hand job! It is here! *Super Kami Guru Voice* I don't have to to take a whole lot of pictures today. I'll see what I can do over the next few days. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this figure. I think quite a few of you will be disappointed, to say the least. Honestly, this is what you all secretly wanted to see anyway!

He has two very different skin tones and it is a very stark transition between colour one to the other. Also, the grey colouring on his boots, instead of yellow. My figure had a very small tarnishes from factory. Basically every aspect of the figure is meh!

According to elothk (the chinese who makes awesome custom figures and a member from sideshow forum) the chinese version has a lower quality while the gold sticker version has a better quality. I aways thought that this quality difference doesnt exist and the gold / silver thing was only related to the distribution... but he said he already owned both version of the same figure and the differences were there. He also did not buy his goku from the chinese local store. He got his goku from japan.

It's never been proven or disproven so it's just a theory. No one has bought both versions of a figure other than caps but he hasn't said anything about their quality. Elthok used to say that on the old db fourm, it really is up to you if you want to believe it. You'll just need more time/cash for a gold one.

Couldn't you just compare a Manga Gohan to a SDCC Gohan? They're about the same It's prolly just a repaint though ain't it.

He also did not buy his goku from the chinese local store. He got his goku from japan. I like elot, I respect elot, but in this instance I think he may be wrong. I can see them doing separate high quality releases for the web exclusives but even then it doesn't make much sense. Why go out of their way to make superb figures for the domestic market? Can you honestly see Bandai doing that while considering the overall quality of all the figures released so far? I think he wound up with a very well done SS Goku out of chance, nothing more. It has to be coincidental. I can't take pics right now but I bought a gold version SS Goku and the silver version to see for myself if it was better and...well honestly all I remember is the head fit on the neck peg much better on the silver version. No two factory releases will ever be the same, some figures will undoubtedly be good and some will be bad and I believe elot stumbled upon a very good figure. of course...if I saw some hard evidence to the contrary I'd believe it but for now I still think it's purely speculation. The gold releases do have appeal though and can be considered exclusive since they're intended for the Japanese buyers...but again, I doubt they're higher quality figures. Couldn't you just compare a Manga Gohan to a SDCC Gohan? They're about the same It's prolly just a repaint though ain't it. SDCC figures are exempt as they are automatically silver versions since they're US exclusives. Every other figure has a few different versions, a gold version (Japanese market), a silver version (international), and...a few others...green for Europe? I'm not 100% sure so I can't say.

timone317 Exactly. Every Figuart is sculpted by the same people, assembled and packaged in the same factory and sent out to retailers by the same people. The only change that is made is applying which sticker the box will go to. Gold for the Japanese and Silver for International.
