Congrats M5. There is something I don't understand though about these figures and sorry for my ignorance but what do you do with them? Do you like customize and paint them or do you just pose them as is?? for actually collecting them children are just supposed to keep and trade them, like plastic trading cards almost. as an Adult collector i have no clue

You are 100% right Roshi, The original marketing of those type of Gum figures were as a painting kit trading figure. This particular series called Kinkeshi Dorakeshi and were sold in vending machines by Bandai in 1989-1996. Series flyer show a painted set.

Do you like customize and paint them or do you just pose them as is?? This! I mean no disrespect towards the fans who collect these but honestly, I do not see the novelty in collecting these. Sure, they are much detailed for their size but I fail to see anything beyond that. EDIT: Ah, now it makes sense.

Ooh that's very neat. Must've been the dream of a customizer come true. But do you paint them too? If so then we need to see pictures.

I collect them for their novelty, rarity, uniqueness, massive character selection, minor characters, vintage feel. It's the kind of vintage item, which is appreciated for reasons like those. I would not paint them though, it will ruin the original condition of the piece.
