I guess the size differs from set to set, they don't have consistent scale. i had a cheap bootleg set of those when i started collecting and they were about real works size.
A red flag that should be noted is that the bootlegs actually comes in boxes.

I've seen bootleg sets of the one you posted with the crying gohan.... And bootlegs of a bunch of the older ones like the Vegeta and fusion characters. Had no clue they came with boxes though... |

I think I have that Vegeto, although I didn't know what line it was from. I'm guessing the one I have is bootleg though, since I got it free for ordering a bunch of other bootleg figures, lol. Those customs are....barely ok. I mean they're just part swaps with fake paintjobs. I mean fake in the sense that no one wore those weird colors and combinations. The Cell Saga Tien is actually the best, minus some scrapes and unsculpted shirt. Looks like he's been on here and copied Bran.

Yeah it seem like some of the sets are very big... but other sets like the saiyan\ namek ones i can assure you that they are about 4 inch scale

My jar ended up looking like an Indian guy for some reason. Smashed that thing to bits a couple years ago.
My art teacher hated my guts. And I got stuck with her 2 years in a row lol.
