Inaccuracies aside loosecollector did some great work on that...I'm a big fan of his customs. Here's a Buutenks custom made by cracker...most will remember him as the guy who painted a few prototypes for Jakks (hope he finds his way here). Gonstead may like this. This one? Yeah, it's boss! I've got to make me one of these someday...

Did anyone else see this? Figuarts Battle Damaged SS Goku CustomThe asking price is absurd IMO. It looks OK but $175? I can't even tell what this guy did with the arms...it looks like he drove nails through the elbox joints. It annoys me because I know it could've been better. I've thought about using Jakks torsos on Figuarts figures before but never bothered with it...then I saw that and had to see what could be done. That way I can add the shirtless torso and still keep the Figuarts arms. With enough time I could combine the two figures into a quality custom that at least looks like a Figuarts figure. There's actually one other torso I could use that might be cool. I don't really see that happening...mainly because the Bardock parts are already being used on another custom and I also have no idea what I'd use for the waist and the legs. I don't see the Goku happening either since I've been dealing with so much lately...but who knows, I may hit the Goku one day. It seems like it's begging to be made.

They aren't bad. Just horrible shaping to the cloth belts. At least it was a clean job and something he can easily take off and redo, but still. Probably could have painted the ends of those nails or pins too.
Your idea to combine the Jakks and Figuarts parts is incredibly ambitious, but I wouldn't stop you. You seem to have very good engineering skills when it comes to this stuff. The part that sucks though is having to repaint both skins since they're different shades. Painting a figuarts figure is so tedious and almost bothersome because of all of the joints and fear they'll strip when posed. I remember dealing with that on my Figuarts Birusu custom.

The joint are definitely intimidating but chances are I wouldn't touch them. If I do this I'm simply going to remove the shirt pieces on the shoulder, fill in the holes where the pieces went, carve down the Figuarts torso until there's nothing left but the parts holding the shoulder joints and the neck, get rid of the Jakks neck and then fit the Jakks torso onto the remnants of the Figuarts torso...then I'll sculpt a new abdomen that blends the Jakks and Figuarts parts and repaint everything to match the Figuarts skin color. I'd probably have to repaint some knee joints and that would absolutely suck but I think it would be the only truly difficult part.

Lol... $175? What a joke. Especially with those Frankenstein elbows. It is a great idea to mash the shirtless body on SHF Goku, though. From angles where you can't see the differences in plastic colour and the metal rods in his arms and the horrible blue socks that are supposed to pass for clothes... I have to admit. It looks pretty damn good. And seeing your ideas of dissecting the torsos and putting the innards of the SHF body into the Jakks to keep the articulation... Is pretty damn cool. I'd absolutely love to see if you can do it someday! Hell, I'd love to own that.

Yes, at first glance it does look awesome and I'm a bit surprised by how good the Jakks parts look with the Figuarts body but what this guy did just doesn't seem acceptable to me. He lost about 1 cm of space on the torso since he just put the Jakks parts on and left it. It can, SHOULD be done so much better. I don't know why it's bugging me so much. Guess it's that $175 price tag...it's a shame someone might end up with that and lose that much money.

Sorry to say it, but despite it actually being an ok custom I suppose, when someone asks $150 for it, it gives me the right to call it whatever it is and that would be crap.

Something is way off on that SS4 Gogeta. The tail and hair are bad. Almost looks like the tail was run over by a steamroller lol. Definitely not worth $150
