Wait, what? They're starting a separate line of 5" figures? That's very interesting news.
This is tough. I've had absolutely no interest in the Dragon Stars line for various reasons - and let me be very clear, I'm not saying these are better than Figuarts, these still look lower end. BUT...these have implemented a couple of things I desperately want to see on the 2.0 Figuarts figures.
1. The butterfly joints on the Goku. They are PERFECT. Let me say again, PERFECT. They have the same color as the gi, meaning that these will blend in nicely with the rest of the gi when they are moved. Compare this to most Figuarts figures where the butterfly joints match the color of the arms and it creates a big break in the torso sculpts. (It isn't just a problem with 2.0 figures, the 1.0 figures also had this.) Not only that, they are OUTSIDE of the torso rather than tucked away inside of it. I feel like the 2.0 Goku mold is flawed because the butterfly joints are tucked too deep inside of the torso. That leaves the arms stuck at a 15-degree angle and there's nothing that can be done about it. Here, there doesn't appear to be any restrictions on the arms, and if that's the case, it's a major improvement over the way the 2.0 Goku arms were designed. Also...the biceps aren't slumped over to the side. Great to see.
2. The design of the waists. It's so frustrating seeing this because this is EXACTLY what I want to see on Figuarts figures. T-style joints for the legs with thigh articulation added, BUT the waist is all one piece, and it creates the appearance of a fuller sculpt. It looks SO much better than the five-part mess that most Figuarts figures have now.
Boy. I don't think I'll be able to skip these. They aren't better than Figuarts overall, but from a functionality/articulation standpoint, they definitely seem to be. I'm impressed.

Holy crap. I am so excited. They are coming out in June! What a great birthday present for myself!!
Please, oh please Bandai. Make Caulifla, Kale, and Kefla! And don't do something stupid like make them look sexy/objectified!

Vegeta looks like a freaking giraffe. Goku is perfect. Broly is a little small, but I’ll buy him.

They all need some work, but I think these prototypes are standing funny because they are made of super lightweight plastic and difficult to balance. I am only assuming that based on them being knock-down drunk looking at New York Toy Fair.
Hopefully the production Vegeta looks less like he is wearing Zarbon's thigh-high boots. And less long-necked. If Broly isn't made at the right size, I don't care, I'll just buy the Dragon Stars one, even though the sculpt of this one looks a whole lot better. I don't need out-of-scale figures in my collection.
I think we can safely assume that UI Goku, Jiren, and SSG Vegeta will be in wave 2. That's my prediction at least. If we're less lucky, it'll be SS Goku, SS Vegeta, and somebody else.

Wait this is the 5 inch scale figures, I could have sworn I thought they were making them like that 12 inch line, like jakks/irwin figures.

Does anyone know if these will be available at Wal-Mart? I picked up a few other Dragon Star figures there about 3-4 months ago...

I can't get any news out of Bandai at all regarding release dates.
I really want to know when these are entering stores and what they will actually be called. Surely they will have SOME sort of title to them.
I really hope this line is successful because I really want Universe 6 characters for my collection! Goku Black and others as well. I truly hope they scale well with Irwin/Jakks.
I haven't seen any on ebay yet, but I don't exactly know what to search to find them...
