I used to love watching Godzillard movies as a kid. I never paid any attention to the plots or what the people said. I just waited until two nukular monstrosities were destroying sheetrock buildings. So cash.
But I love the American Godzilla with Ferris Beuller.
That's not sarcasm.

You know the 1998 american Godzilla movie was the only Godzilla movie that was released not by Toho, it was considered such a bad take on the franchise that Toho actually added a scene in one of its later films explaining that the monster that attacked new york was actually a different monster called Zilla. In the 2004 Toho film Godzilla Final Wars, Godzilla actually kills Zilla with his atomic breath.

I'm guessing what I watched was a remake movie? Another thing to research on.

Not sure if anyone here is a fan of Fight Club but I found this pic hilarious, although the figure itself is amazing

Definitely not a Brad Pitt head but pretty close.

I knew the American Godzilla wasn't made by Toho, but I never saw Final Wars, so I didn't even know the whole Zilla thing. Pretty cool that they even mentioned it, let alone used it in the movie. Their CGI wasn't nearly as good as the American one though. Odd seeing as how Japan is all about the tech. But then again, why bother on such a short scene when the charm is in the giant monster costumes anyway.
I'm looking forward to the new American Godzilla movie coming next year.
And that Fight Club figure looks pretty cool. If it's not a Brad Pitt head, I wonder where it came from. One of those N'Sync dolls or something? lol

I agree, the classical films performed with the kaiju suits has a unique charm that CGI can't recreate. it's really a shame that modern audience are adjusted to everything that is clean and polished up, and animatronics, miniatures and stop motions are a dying art. sometime it just look better when there is something in front of the camera.

Max Factory are also doing a heck of a job with their Figma line too don't forget Not at all, max factory has done an amazing job with their figma line, I'm a huge fan of their guyver biofighter line as well, immaculate sculpting and detail. On another note those nycc pics just gave me a mini collectors chub haha, black armor zero, moster arts, vegeta, s.h. batman...take my money now bandai! Not like they don't already. If I ever change my occupational field I'm seriously going to push hard for any pr or marketing job at bandai japan

I wonder if we will be getting more DC characters in the Figuarts line? It would be nice with Figma doing the Avengers.

I hope so, I dont know how they do the property break down, often multiple brands turn out products of the same franchise. I mean hot toys does marvel and dc, we had the bandai movie realization batman and spiderman, we had s.h. figuarts ironman and war machine, same thing with revoltech figures, Its sort of confusing at times in regards to the rights of merchandise, but hey as long as they're turning out awesome figures I'm not one to complain

Honestly, a lot of CGI doesn't look as real as it should. As a non-dumbass human being, I know it's all fake. But practical, if done right, will always trump CGI. The newer Star Wars trilogy would've been so much better with more practical effects. But not the Episode I Yoda... no. Not that practical. lol.
