I'm hoping they removed the BAF so they could invest more into better figure sculpts.

I'd also rather see that money put to more accessories. If I'm paying $20 make that figure worth $20. Don't give me a $17 figure with a $3 part that I need to buy five other figures to not be completely useless.

I don't mind BAF also. I actually enjoy this line and have managed to get them all so far. Waiting on the new waves.

I actually enjoy this line and have managed to get them all so far. Waiting on the new waves. That's great for you, but the problem with a BAF is that it only benefits those who were gonna buy all the figures anyway. It's a detriment on everyone else, and lot of people buying Dragon Stars are cherry picking to suppliment their figuarts and don't want it. Just sell me the figures straight up and I'll buy them.

Not sure what the issue is if some ppl are just buying to supplement their figuarts. They can still do so just ignore the extra body parts or sell them on eBay like what people are doing. For people like me it's just extra joy. Want just the BAF? eBay sells individual parts or as a whole. Let's look at the wave with piccolo in it. No BAF yet still they couldn't give him his cape and turban at 19.99. So who's really winning and losing here. If you really think about it, the BAF idea made Bandai profit. More money they make, the more figures you will see. Now that people will skip out on figures like piccolo we'll see how they'll do with this wave and onwards.

Well, being able to buy Berzerk Kale for $23 plus tax would be better than having to pay $60+ on ebay for her, or $142.89 (with tax) for a full set of figures, just to resell the other figures for $13 each ($78) without their BAF parts like I did. In the end, I spent approximately $65 for her, but had to do a lot of work and shipping to sell the other figures. So I can definitely say I'd love to not have to continue doing that process. However, if that prevents them from giving us other large characters, I'll be disappointed. Well... not if they are 5 inch scale because they didn't make them large enough to scale with other Dragon Stars figures...

Also, do not forget that even though people are chasing and paying money for BAF, it is directly supporting Bandai to create and continue the line. If sales are poor they will not continue.

Nah... Nah, I don't think that makes sense. I gotta agree with Bran and others about BAF. I kinda look at it this way. If what you're saying is that BAF parts are for the people who are already collecting every figure in the line, but also that people buying every figure in the line for the BAF parts helps out Bandai, let me propose a small thought experiment here. My sister the other day, she was looking at the Figure Rise SS4 Vegeta, and she was like, "I wonder why they don't do a BAF style thing and include half of SS4 Gogeta in here so then you'd have to buy SS4 Goku, you'd basically feel compelled to buy two kits when you might have only wanted one." But my mind immediately shot this down because... Well, it would of course be nice to have a way to build SS4 Gogeta, but the way that makes the most sense, is to actually sell it as a third kit. Because then, someone who only wants to buy Gogeta will just be able to buy Gogeta, and they're not losing out on a sale from someone who looks at it like, "Oh, you have to buy BOTH of them just to get him? I don't want both of them, I just want Gogeta. Nah, forget it." But anyone who really wants to pose Goku, Vegeta, and Gogeta together, they will have to buy more than just the two to do that. A Non-BAF method, I think, ensures more certain purchases, and that would be the same with simply having more figures in the line instead of BAF characters, like a straight up stand-alone figure for Kale, or Broly, etc. I think the current arrangement where people are buying all of them, reselling them, it's really messy and people end up losing a lot of money on it, as Bran said (I did the same thing for Kale), and I don't think it's a whole ton more money than they'd lose by just selling the 'BAF characters' as their own figures. Even with figure lines like Marvel Legends, I've never liked the BAF system unless it amounted to truly huge characters you couldn't get otherwise, like back in the day when you'd get a giant Sentinel out of it. If the BAF Shenron was anywhere near the size of SHF Shenron, for example, it might seem a little more worth all the mess and trouble. But... it just doesn't, to me.

It is what it is it's been a marketing tactic for figures across many lines for decades. I agree that the baf figure itself could be made into a 19.99 figure and would love that. But I also agree that the build-a-figure does give incentive and it does profit the company that makes our beloved DBZ figures. It's only been recently that Dragon Ball Z figures even made their way to North American retail stores i.e. Walgreens, target, and r.i.p toysrus lol so we will see how sales are after these 2 waves. Personally for me if he/she looks nice I get them but will be passing on half of these 2 new waves and I never bought these for the baf peices.

Lol honestly am surprised to see it past the first two after seeing what Vegeta and Goku looked like. Wouldn't be surprised if the shenron baf helped sales because if it completely bombed I wouldn't expect anything after it. Cost money to produce, marketing and shipment. Piccolo is worry some but I think Goku Ssj4, will carry it's weight.

I was gonna but all those bitches to build (Super) Broly. Now he’ll probably be less impressive and I ain’t buyin’ none of ‘em. Nobody wins. Edit for clarity: I’m still buying the Broly figure, but just him.
