please don't buy black please

So glad to finally have these! I'll do a write up with some pictures a little later, but the basic gist of it is that it's a mixed bag. Vegeta is outright terrible, and Zamasu looks good but literally can't move his legs forward. However, Goku Black is the absolute shining star of this wave, and I would say is a very good alternative to the Figuarts. Merged Zamasu is not great when you put him together, but could possibly be improved with some doctoring, which I'll look into later. While I vastly would have preferred his non melty faced form, he still does look excellent.

Alright, starting off, I made some modifications to Merged and regular Zamasu. Their lack of being able to move their legs forward was killing me, so I popped off the legs and came up with a solution.


I straight up carved out large chunks of plastic to make some clearance for the hips to move. Now you may be saying to yourself "that looks god awful, I don't care that it allows the legs to move, it aesthetically ruins the figure." And you would be right...if not for the giant skirt piece that completely hides the hideous hack job.

This is what Zamazu's legs look like straight down.

And all the way forward. It's not the greatest range of motion in the world, but mind you 
A. There's a skirt piece that hinders his movement. And
B. He couldn't move his legs forward at all before, so I'd say that's an improvement.

Just look at him go now!

I also cut a seem in the front of Merged Zamasu's skirt, and it really helps the mobility. I gave him regular Zamasu's ki blade as well, and I think it very much completes the look.

Man I am stoked to finally have a figure of Black, he looks great! His range for his legs isn't amazing, but I'm also not compelled to try and "fix" him, if that means anything. He's also got a major improvement on the floating shirt pieces by his shoulders. Blue Goku already took a step in the right direction, by making them floating pieces instead of being molded onto the arm, but they were made of thick, barely bendable plastic. This made it very difficult or even impossible to get Goku into certain poses. Black's shirt pieces are nice an gummy though, so they don't get in the way of any posing. Like I said before, if you can't get your hands on Figuarts Black, but still want a 6inch figure of him, Dragon Stars Black is pretty cool.









They may not be the best Dragon Ball figures, but I'm still quite pleased with them.

If there's anything you guys want a picture of with these, let me know. I have a decent amount of Figuarts too, so if you would like a comparison, I can do that too.

That may be a bit of a hack job, but it sure looks like it improves the figures!! I wish these figures had better looking feet/boots. They are a bit bulbous.

I've been looking for Rose, but haven't seen one yet. It's definitely getting harder to find these. I've checked a Target and Walgreens in a different part of town and they didn't carry these figures. The Target near me doesn't, and the Walgreens near me still just has 3 SS Vegetas and the 1 Frieza I returned (because I didn't find a buyer on ebay). I checked a different Gamestop a couple weeks ago and they just had Zamasu and the white haired SS Goku.

The distribution of these kind of reminds me of ~2004 when Jakks DBZ figures stopped being carried by just about every retailer except Toys R Us. It made them impossible to find outside of TRU in my area, and I never went to TRU, because it was far from where I lived.

I've been wasting my time driving to places and they are on freakin' Amazon at a lower price than they are in stores?!

I order mine just a few days ago and I got them for that price, I didn't need the Black figure, just the baf piece so I'm thinking of selling him on ebay for like $15-18 maybe even Vegeta blue.
