What's going on with the mouth? Are you making his mouth open? If so, I think he needs more chin sculpted I think. Something that helps when sculpting Yamcha's hair is to do it from a 3/4 angle like this and then figure out how to make it look right from the front, and then try to make it look right from the side while it is still moist enough to do so. If you don't, just like Goku's hair, you can end up with hair that only looks good from the front. The reason I mention this is because the Gohan head you're using had that exact problem when Irwin made it. It looked ok from the front, but when you looked at him from the side, it was like... what happened here? So I don't want you to fall into that trap. I think you've already planned for how it will look from the side a little bit, but it's something to constantly check. I think you might be falling into the trap of making it look like Bandai SBC Vol 8 Gohan's hair, which isn't very accurate for Gohan or Yamcha. This picture I've created for you and attached should help you see some problems, the biggest of which is the lack of "lump" on the back of his head. I covered up the eyes because the giant pupils are distracting lol. I'm really critical of Yamcha customs since he's my favorite character, so I wanted you to see what's happening here. Basically, you're doing a good job, but you aren't using enough clay. I've made a comparison to the anime for Saiyan Saga as well as a Toriyama drawing for Frieza saga when his hair was even longer and bushier.

Im changing the mouth. Originally the head was going to be used for another custom but I changed my mind. I have been taking in the consideration of what it will look like from the side, i've been looking at that yamcha figure I posted earlier of the one with the blue undershirt as a reference of what it looks like from all angles. Im prolly gonna close the mouth and make better longer eyebrows

So that's what the Gohan head was for! I was wondering why you were modifying that lol Touching on what Bran said, a lot of the back of his hair will end having to be sculpted based on how you think it would be because aside from the obvious strands or chunks sticking out around it that you see in images, there's other separation points that we can't see. It's not like sculpting SS3 hair which I think is easier. But since you're in the beginning stages, I think you're on the right path! It looks good so far.

So far, all I can think of is to cut down the third strand on the left like in half and then sculpt a 4th one below it at about the same size.

Looking good so far! It's very, very difficult to sculpt! Like Goku, his hair is very difficult to conceptualize, especially that hump on the top of the back of his head!

Dang, dude, I think that looks really good! It's gonna be tough to sand, but it looks great, nonetheless.

Really good so far. Just add some more hair over the shoulders so he doesn't look like he has long horn steer horns on his shoulders and you'll be on your way to getting him finished!

That is amazing. Better than mine. Luckily, I still need to make a Frieza Saga Yamcha, so I can use this as reference. Just an awesome job.

Some more progress on the yamcha. I think just alot of sanding and painting is left, but still haven't got a cell saga head yet. Making interchangeable hands was actually way harder then I thought. What ya guys think so far? Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

A little more hair over the shoulders and he might be good to go! Right now they are coming across as antlers, so maybe put an extra spike laying on his right shoulder (left when looking at him in the pic) so they aren't both 1 up and 1 down. His gi doesn't dip that low in saiyan saga, so you might cover some of that up. Alternatively... This will be difficult, but if you can manage it, it would be better if his pecs ended at the bottom instead of being so long like you have now. Basically that will require cutting a triangle out of the bottom of between them. Difficult. I'd cover up the bottom instead.

Sweet! My 2 recommendations are the same as Bran's. Though for the hair, I'd say add a small strand just above the shoulder "antlers" so the large gap isn't so open and possibly shorten those long strands on the shoulders.. Then yes, you must add some shirt on the chest.

I was reading the manga and took this pic for you. It's Namek saga but it's still useful.
