Anyone else paying any attention to this?
I know a lot of people don't take Mortal Kombat seriously but personally I've been pretty impressed with what I've seen since MK 9.

The last Mortal Kombat was EXCELLENT! Merging the three games storylines into one with the alternate twists was perhaps the best MK story to date.
Looks like they took a page from that and are following through with it on MKX! Was that Scorpion in human form I saw for a split second? Or another Shirai-Ryu ninja?

totally agree. I loved nearly everything they did with MK 9, especially the "movie" featured within the game. I'm so glad they seem to have done the same thing for MK X. As I understand it... Scorpion is still a wraith but has escaped Quan Chi's control and now exists as Hanzo Hasashi. He's still able to tap into his wraith abilities whenever necessary. Something similar seems to be happening to Sub Zero and it's still unclear who has taken up that title (I'm hoping that Noob Saibot also found a way to break free from Quan Chi, I think that would be interesting). |

I loved MK9, and the way they did the story was very very well done. Same with Injustice. They made me actually care about the story in a fighting game. MKX looks cool...but, I'm very confused. Pretty much every other character should be a wraith, except for Johnny and Sonya and Kano. Although, they have randomly revived characters in the past. Like Johnny in MK3. I can't wait to play it.  |

Looks like the alternate timeline "Deadly Alliance" is canon in some capacity (well, that's at least how I'm looking at it, I know it isn't likely but it's very interesting to see Scorpion and Sub Zero seemingly on the same side). Also the roster looks very cool so far, it has all of my favorite characters covered. I'm loving how they're treating this as a sort of remake of MK 4. Wiki page with the roster |

Looks pretty cool. I don't even really care for Project M that much, but I like using character and stage mods with the regular Brawl gameplay, and those new stages are awesome. I also like the new mode where you can have different characters for each stock. SSB Wii U had this, but it was limited to the crappy Smash Tour mode.

I LOVE PM. Legit is super awaesome and i love how easy it is to replace character models in it. I had a goku model to replace captian falcon. it was ssweet

There's movesets for several DBZ characters(and a lot of models over regular characters like the one you mentioned), and a handful of stages.
Eventually I'm going to make a pack that has all of the available DBZ characters and stages that people have made. Probably throw in a couple of guest characters like Naruto and other stages as well.

i personally think those look terribly stiff. I sooner just play PM with brawl skins haha. Loved playing as Lucario with a kid Buu skin haha

I think Project M is worth checking out just for the Turbo mode. I absolutely love playing Turbo matches and making absurd combos. I'm not saying I was dissatisfied with the fights in vanilla Brawl but Turbo matches are more in line with what I want to see/experience. I thought about sharing this next video when I saw it last year, guess I never got around to it...this turbo match is one of the best things I've ever seen.

Unrelated to Smash but on topic...the first 25 minutes of the MK X story mode have been revealed. It seems the game begins right where MK 9 left off and will eventually see a timeskip with expository flashbacks thrown in. I really can't wait to see the rest.

Loved playing as Lucario with a kid Buu skin haha Yeah, but to be fair that video was from 3 years ago(and that Vegeta was just a skin over Wolf). Moveset hacks have greatly improved since then, as seen with Project M's Mewtwo. Now with the Brawl Ex clone engine, you can have up to 100 different slots on the roster, so you don't even have to replace any of the default Brawl characters like you had to in the past. |
