I'll definitely give San Andreas a go if I can find it cheap. If I like it then bring on GTA 5 EDIT: Dang EB games has San Andreas for $8 at the moment. So just confirming GTA fans that San Andreas is the best one to get besides the new one?

I'm not one to push my personal taste onto newcomers. Not trying to be a bitch just saying what I like doesn't translate to "best" for everyone, if it did then everyone would love GT.
Still if you want my opinion for the 3D era (if you don't then just stop reading) I'd start with 3 then go through to Vice City then San Andreas to get the overarching references. But if you don't give a damn about that and want a bit of RPG customization then San Andreas is perfect for that.
Just remember one thing, "ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS FOLLOW THE DAMN TRAIN, CJ!".

Too bad there isn't a steam sale going on right now, cause I rebought the trilogy for $12 a few months back. Ah the joys of PC gaming. Keep us posted on how it goes. We won't be too busy enjoying the HD rendition of Los Santos not to help you out lol (I'm so lying) Edit: dbzunbound: I started to hate Smoke just for that mission alone and it only grew with time of course. Still I had more trouble with Zero's mission with the little planes. I suck at that RC crap in every single game lol.

God I hated Ryder's mission, bitch can't even defend himself but rags on CJ all day. I gave up on Zero's first mission on PC a few months ago, I just couldn't do it again lmao.

Still fun though, IV is the only one whose missions I never screwed up. Just don't die is often the only criteria lol.

IV's heist wasn't my favorite but it was a higher point of the game so I'm looking forward to doing more of it in V.
Really wish burglary missions would return though. My favorite thing in SA was robbing rich people's houses in SA.

Lol ashelia, i hate that mission with smoke too, i replayed GTA san andreas and found an easier to way to get it done: just go up the ramp and jump and the train and bust a cap on those guys! and yeah im gonna have to agree, GTA IV seems easier compared to the other ones. me personally i think vice city was the hardest, every little thing you can cause the cops to come. the car handles suck big time. wish i could get GTA V right now but im gonna have to wait till it drops.
games on my want list at the moment:
NBA 2k14 GTA V Metal gear solid 5

Just paid off my pre-order for GTA 5, can't wait until midnight!
In San Andreas, the only mission I remember is the train one that Ashelia mentioned. I loved San Andreas because everything was interactive. You could get fat by eating fast food, or buff up at the gym, there were bicycles, more than 1 aircraft (GTA IV only has the stupid helicopters), and that one had the most cheats. The cheats on that game kept me entertained for years without ever doing any missions.

I'm going to go get San Andreas today. Plus while I'm out I am going to hit Game Traders as they say they can order in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the Wii.

Bt3 has got to be one, if not the best, of the dbz games. Lucky you!
