The reason why I wanted the newly SDCC Goku was because it is indeed anime accurate. And its the Goku that I remeber that got me into DBZ. Although I watched some of the DB series but lost track of it, but then got into DBZ and this was the Goku that started it again, so as soon as they announced it as a figure it was a MUST for me, but then the stupid Mexico exclusive ruined it. Then they announced it as SDCC 2015 exclusive and again it was a MUST for me and so I got it on the first day of SDCC on ebay. Didn't want to wait for Bluefin or anything as something might come up and ruin it for me again and sure enough crappy staff at the Tamashii booth, scalpers raided the booth and now either or not if Blufin will have some up on sale on their own site. Again, glad I got mine off of ebay as soon as I did to avoid all this run around and such. But thats my reason to get the Frieza Saga Goku. Not sure of why everyone else was and still is going nuts for the SDCC 2011 Goku as its just a simple repaint? But I think its due to it was the very first time to get Goku in a orange gi as the standard reatil SS goku is yellowish.

I'll honestly be pretty surprised if they don't perform an exclusive release for this figure. They did so with sailor moon, I don't see why they wouldn't do it with Goku with the insane demand he's been having. I'm not into the Sailor Moon line so I might be wrong, but I've heard that they sell it as a web exclusive because it didn't sell well in the SDCC. Unlike Goku, who got out of stock really fast. I agree with you completely which is why I couldn't holdback from getting the new SDCC Goku as well. As far as the 2011 SDCC Goku, its the hair and shading that do it for me. I know many may not like that aspect of the figure, but out of the 20ish figuart DBZ guys that I have, he is my crown jewel besides the fact that he has the highest street price as well. Coot |

The design for the Normal Goku figure is the definitive one for me, even though the first one I saw was Namek Goku, the one I saw the most was the Goku from the Cell/Buu saga's. And in terms of 'anime accurate', I know it's a popular opinion that the variety in gi shading is bad, I personally think due to the lack of consistency in the animation, that the fact that there are a variety of different shades of Goku's gi is itself 'anime accurate'. Not only that, it provides a bit of variety when it comes to large collections, especially considering how many Goku's there actually are. I reckon it would bug the crap out of me if all of the Goku's in my collection had the same color gi.
I've voiced my dislike for this figure mainly due to its price and that damn stupid belt many times, and i've been looking on ebay every now and then for a decent price but I just can't pull the trigger on it. I paid big for the likes of SS3 Goku, SS Vegeta, Trunks, SDCC Gohan, etc. because I understood that I was late to the line and if I wanted those figures i'd have to pay the big bucks. Unfortunately though, this figure pretty much straight away costs more than the SDCC Gohan I got earlier this year, and that makes it almost completely unjustifiable for me.

It is a month after SDCC. Still there isnt anything on bluefin premium. Should have gone there myself to pick a couple of them or buy at the first day of SDCC. Well i paid 260 for 2 so not that bad. Seems like idiots of bluefin totally sold out everything on SDCC and wont be on their site. So for those of you dont have atm, there is only one way getting it at paying scalper price.

I think with the demand that has been built up over time for this line and an SDCC figure that is quite popular that this was going to happen to some extent. I think they should of expected that a situation like this was going to happen, but I cant blame them completely as they probably havnt had a SDCC exclusive get sold this fast with so much interest. Not that this Goku is the grail, but back when the 2011 SDCC goku came out, I dont think many people knew about the DBZ figuarts line and he probably didn't fly off the stands as quick. Since then they have had some decent SDCC releases, but this Goku is the first I would think that many would want off the bat due to how popular this look is in the series. I would like to believe that this year has possibly opened up Bandai's eyes in future releases of their SDCC figures and hopefully they will start/continue to limit the SDCC exclusives like I think they started to do at the end of this past convention. With that being said, I too think this is somewhat of a fluke with this SDCC and it is probably a little early to throw in the towel. Coot |

According to BBTS, Bluefin is still going to distribute them, there just isn't a solid date. Not sure why, but that's what I was told.
