@m5jagdragonpanzeriv I don't have a detolf but my glass case has essentially the same minor gaps a detolf has. Unless you have a very dusty house, not much dust will accumulate at all. Mine is under a vent so the top gets dusty after about a month and the bottom shelf has a small amount of dust after several months but the other shelves have only been cleaned once in the... 3? years I've had the display case (when I took one collection out and moved figures in). There was hardly any dust inside after all that time. The store I bought my case from doesn't carry them anymore so I'm looking into some detolfs and wall mounted ikea shelves for my newly freed up wall Edit: I also have this shelf to display the bulk of my figures. It's not the best for seeing everything, but I bought it years ago for the design and not for figures. Also, it was a hell of a lot cheaper back then.

I use an antique armoire for my 5 inch figure collection. I need to get a second one or start selling some things though, because I am very much out of space.
Regarding dust, there are three ways to minimize dust in your display cabinet if it doesn't seal really tight. Mine doesn't seal tightly at all, but I don't have dust problems inside it because of three reasons (mostly #1).
1. Don't have it in a place where an air conditioner vent blows toward it. Don't have it across from a window that you open. No air flow toward it = dust only collects on top of it and on the outside.
2. Change your furnace filters in your air conditioner often.
3. Vacuum the exterior of your case and the surrounding area every few weeks/months. Do the air conditioner vent in your room too, and the ceiling fan.

I now use a closet in which I mounted a bunch of shelves to create 5-6 very long shelves across (72 inches across, as high as 95 inches is the top shelf, lowest shelf rests on the floor).
I used to have an armoire from Ikea, but I didn't like the separation of shelves across and my wife let me use the closet if I gave up the armoire to use as our kitchen pantry, which is now one big pantry lol

@m5jagdragonpanzeriv well that actually happened to my detolf LoL. I have to say though, it was totally my fault. I was wiping the bottom shelf when I first got the cabinet and I didn't notice that I was roughly fidgeting it from place so it fell and shattered. Luckily it was the bottom one or else I would've probably had the entire cabinet break to pieces.

Here's my recommendation. Atlantic Oskar Multimedia Storage Rack II I keep most of my figures in their boxes and each box sits a little over the edge but it isn't a terrible eyesore. Each wooden plate is adjustable so it's possible to make room for larger figures/boxes.

Has anyone heard of these, or better yet does anyone have this? They're a new collection from Ikea and it looks like they're completely enclosed (dust proof!). It's also unstained wood so you can paint it whatever color you want

I can see huge gaps where the hinges are, so those will get dust like crazy.

According to Ikea, these things are supposed to be dust proof...but then again they could be dirty dirty liars
I'm gonna see if I can go to this weekend and check the displays out for myself

I'm running into a bit of a dilemma. My Mom bought me an IKEA Milsbo to display my S.H. Figuarts collection in, and at first I adored it, but now I realize that it's really annoying how large the frame is on the thing. There are a lot of figures I can't see from certain angles because their hidden by the framing in the corners, and sometimes when looking at it head-on it still takes the doors being open to really see it all. The Detolf, being all glass, seems more like what I want, but I'm very hesitant because, after doing some research, it seems like most people actually prefer the Milsbo over the Detolf for display purposes. I'm also worried that it may be harder to dustproof a Detolf with its lack of frames (putting foam right onto the glass doors will probably look kinda crap), and my most important worry is space. I'm hoping a Detolf is just as big, or bigger, than HALF of a Milsbo, even if it's just a centimeter or two, because I have some trouble fitting very long or wide pieces like Cell's Kamehameha in the Milsbo without putting it on a diagonal.
EDIT: There's sort of an imaginary line down the middle of my Milsbo. Obviously, there's nothing ACTUALLY stopping me from fitting longer pieces like the Kamehameha effect in there, but for the sake of making sure Cell or Gohan aren't standing on the edge of another scene right next to the Cell Games scene, I would much rather be able to fit it all on one side. END OF EDIT
Can anyone suggest any better options, ideas to make my Milsbo better, or give me some more info that might help me make my decision? Thanks!

For what it's worth, with some display cabinets, you can add foam weatherstripping (like from Home Depot) to fill gaps where dust can come in. I did that to the top of my antique cabinet from the 1940s, because there was a gap along the entire top. It has adhesive on one side and goes on just like tape. For my situation, it worked really well. I would have preferred it been black in color, but I went into the store and just bought what I could find instead of ordering it online. Mine is gray. For a detolf... it might not look very good since you'd be able to see it through the glass. It also wouldn't put up with movement (it's not THAT sticky) unless the movement is the direction that it is designed to work for (being compressed... like when you close a window on top of it).
You might want to see if you can adapt the sweep for a glass shower door to fit on the areas with gaps. You'd probably need to hot glue or epoxy it on, unless there's one that fits the thickness of the detolf glass. It'd probably be worth checking Amazon so you'd have a better variety of sizes and designs if you want to try out this idea though.
