For those of you who liked my Burter custom I made from Jakks King Cold years ago, it looks to me like Demoniacal Fit Captain Ginyu would be a great base for making a 5 inch scale Burter that's better than the Irwin one! Adrenaline ssj2dakota PGV http://instagr.am/p/BpbLzv7nXIO Where is the Banan from? That's what I want to know.

Adrenaline They did a great job, but he would be enormous in your collection. Somewhere around Jakks General Rilldo size probably, which is too large for a 5 inch scale Banan. I wonder if any customizers would sell me Banan's head though.

Dragon Stars build-a-figure SS Broly is EXCELLENT with Irwin and Jakks figures!!! A massive improvement over SBC SS Broly! (I put his necklace in freshly microwaved water so I could conform it to his shoulders, and then put him in the freezer for a permanent hold). Global Bee Toys Vegetaman (Saibamen) are excellent too. Very expensive, but high quality. I paid like $148 for the 6. It was painful. Still is. But they can be had cheaper now than that. I finally received HG Girls Mai. The first one I paid for back in July wasn't sent till September, when I was moving, and it never ended up coming to my new address nor my old address. So I bought again, from a guy on Facebook, referred to me by the first guy I purchased Mai from in Japan. This time she came and I rather like her.
She's very well painted and thankfully she isn't sexualized hardly at all. Her boobs are bigger than they should be, but the pose is full of attitude and there's not a hint of "this figure is embarrassing to own." So I like it. Her head is small compared to Irwin and Jakks figures, her height is ok with me, and her feet wouldn't take too much modification to allow her to stand without her base.
Her pose is nice, lots of attitude, but she cannot stand without her base because of the foot placement. She can... but with her foot placement, she wants to fall backward.
Here's my old WIP custom Mai with a DWC bootleg Mai head and a DC Comics Black Canary body. To be honest, I think I would rather just sculpt Black Canary's body to have Mai's DB clothes and just make the custom that way. I bought this DB Super Mai with the intent of making a DB Mai custom since no 5 inch scale figure exists of that. But looking at my old WIP... it wouldn't be that much work to just sculpt everything...
Like HG dead Yamcha, the box she came in was much bigger than necessary. False advertising to the max.
And here's the Facebook post with all those images... in case somebody can't see the pics above... because Facebook will eventually kill the links as usual.

I've been wanting to see a comparison pic of this SS2 Gohan with Irwin/Jakks for years, and I just happened to see this photo on Facebook from a post some random person made in 2015. I can't remember what the set was called that included this SS2 Gohan, but I think it was made by Unifive. LarryKoopa didn't you recently buy a figure from the same set as what this SS2 Gohan and Old Kai came in? Anyway, as far as non-custom SS2 Gohan figures go, I think that's the very closest you'll find to one that scales well with Irwin/Jakks. It's about 10% too small based on how he looks with King Kai and Bulma... but that beats the Irwin and Jakks versions, that look like they are 24 year old men instead of 11 year old kids. Obviously the Old Kai/Elder Kai/Dai Kaioshin figure is very small and not to scale with the other figures. Editions Atlas in France made him, and he scales very well with Irwin/Jakks. Most Editions Atlas figures scale very well with Irwin/Jakks, but I'm sure we mentioned that years ago in this thread. Here's a nice pic I found in the last year or so of a group of them though.

And I was supposed to take a picture with that Gohan next to some Irwins that I just never did. If you promise not to flay me alive, I promise to eventually get on that. I can take one of him next to the Goku that came with the Stomp Cycle.

Those are brand new and not out yet as far as I know. I have my fingers crossed that SSB Goku and SSB Vegeta will scale with Irwin/Jakks. Dragon Stars Broly should scale with Irwin/Jakks as well... but that one in the 5 inch line won't. Here's the thread specific to the 5 inch figures. dragonballfigures.com/thread/3839/bandai-america-dragon-super-figures

Based on that height chart I made (see bottom of this post), I think Dragon Stars' Berzerk Kale scales pretty well with 5 inch as long as you force her legs into her hips as far as they will go. And the Broly is pretty good too, if you extend his legs as far as they will go. The other Dragon Stars Broly scales pretty well with 5 inch too. The more I look at the DB Super: Broly figure, the more I want to shorten his boots and beef up his inner thighs... I did it in Photoshop, and I think it would look just fine being a bit shorter than the old Broly design. I'm pretty sure Broly wasn't as big in the new movie as he used to be. The figure looks kind of awkward with such long shins and with calves that are bigger around than his thighs. Here's what I did in Photoshop... I nearly doubled the size of his thighs and I took a pretty big amount of height out of his boots. Shown here, Kale and Broly look pretty good with 5 inch scale. Just have to push Kale's legs all the way into her hips and pull Broly's all the way out of his hips to make him as tall as possible. Since he's wearing a skirt, I might put some hot glue in there to make sure the joints won't slip and he doesn't lose his balance and fall in my display. He needs something similar done to his ankles, because he has a tendency to lean forward. Unlike Kale, he doesn't have a joint in there that you can rotate to correct the angle... he just has a ball joint without any adjustability. Kale's legs look a bit funny when you shove them all the way in, but the only adjustment she could reasonably have is the sole shaved off her feet. Kale's character design doesn't have soles on her boots. And it's adding to her height minorly. I probably won't do that adjustment... Here's DB Super Broly unmodified in Photoshop. Note the long shins and skinny inner thighs. Here's the scale picture/height chart I made yesterday and posted in the Official Character Heights thread, since I've been using that for character height comparisons the past few years.

I bought a couple Gogeta figures from oldphan on Facebook. The two in the middle. I've always considered the SBC Gogeta to be too tall, and my bootleg HSCF too short. The UFS (Jakks rerelease) and official HSCF are much better. I will likely customize the UFS to be SSB Gogeta from the Broly movie, complete with a much needed face resculpt. The figure had the typical ripping forearm the Japanese UFS and Jakks rereleases typically have, but only on one arm. So I super glued that. The HSCF Gogeta I soaked in boiling water and repositioned. The bootleg shows pretty much how the legit one looked. His right foot was turned in and he was looking down. I dunked him in cold water and then put him in the freezer for half an hour, so he's fresh from that. I'll fix the belt separation later.

Am I the only one who thinks Jakks Super Buu is really tall?, like his antenna reaches the top of King Cold's head, and King Cold is among the tallest figures I own that are not Limit Breakers! Bonkers!
