If you could find a gen 1 Hummer with a little work that needs to be done, you'd be doing good. The price on this vehicle will only go up. I'm serious about the Mecum auctions. In the first couple days, this is going to make my cry, 1980 INDY 500 CAR WITH THE ORIGINAL UNTAMPERED RACE engine,...$9,500!... The nose cone alone cost $20,000 to make! My experience from seeing 10's of thousands of cars for sale. Mecum auto auctions is as big or biggeer than Barrett Jackson, it also has a lower commission. The first couple days your wallet will start to roll its eyes with the sell prices. After the first couple days the sell prices come back to reality. They have actions year rounde eventually covering the whole U.S. Warning! You're eyes may bleed looking at this link. Atleast, if you see what I see. mecum.comJust to make matters worse I went to that auction the next day and saw that race car. It only had minor projectile damage from racing! I couldn't locate the owner, I would have thrown some offers if he was there. That engine is worth $60,000. Let's make how bad I feel worst! It was an Oldsmobile engine capable of maintained speeds of 270mph, probably more. The INDY racing has since lowered speed limits for safety and foreign cars that can't maintain the same performance. INDY race cars in the 80's where racing at speeds of 280mph. Maybe you could always get a Ford tractor through their vintage tractor auctions. Lol Sign up on the Mecum site. They have sell prices of any car you can think of. You'll be able to see what cars you want for the price. There's hundreds of completely different cars you could afford out there. It's a good tool to use with Kelly Blue Book. |

If I had my choice for a car around the 10k mark, I'd try to find an Honda S2000. That's just me though. I like my imports. I am not sure how much they are now, but some were around there when I looked awhile ago.

get a cavalier, they are cheap, good on gas and cost low on insurance. even with upgrades you can probably get one under $6000 (I pasyed $300 for mine but it was a fixer upper)

ni ssan 350z, nissan 300zx, hyundai tiburon, hyundai genesis coupe (over 100k miles), g35, acura rsx, mazda speed 3, mazda rx8. If you want to go really fast pontiac fiero 87 with a buick regal 3800 super charged engine swap. car will be about 3-4k motor will be about 3 to 4k.

Naw shifftymking I've had a 2000 Chrysler Concorde for the past few years. This'll be my second car. I wont actually get the car until spring next year when my mom and my step dad bring it to me from their house up in Maine. |

Congrats getting your car. I just finally got my first car ever. Its a 2008 Ford Focus, had about 57,720 miles on it, got it for like $5,700 from a private dealer. Its not a Mustang but its a great car! Looks and feels brand new. Got such a great deal on it. The thing I'm most proud of is that I'm financing it myself, the gas, insurance, everything.  |

I'm splitting the insurance with my parents, which is probably gonna be friggin ridiculous just because it's a mustang. But congrats to you too man, I saw the pics you posted of your car and it looks just as cool as mine. Nice color especially. Come to think of it gas on your car should be better than mine too... I think I might've made a mistake. |
