Cool find Redstar! Do you know if that's a prototype or production piece?

I think or am almost certain it's a prototype! I hope of course keep it that way.

The more I look at Raditz, the more I like him. This one might be a good investment if they don't skimp on the paint job like they did with the Arale last year.

The best figure of Radditz for sure! Him and Nappa are my most wanted of this 2015 edition.

I think Nappa's short legs are supposed to accentuate how "brutish" and primitive he is. He's so massive that he's grotesque, like those genetically modified bulls.
Both his and Raditz's poses and body language reflect the animalistic nature that Saiyans are known for; which is perfect because they are more animalistic than Earthlings due to their ability to become Oozarus. I love both of them because to me, it captures the Saiyans' savage, "barely-beyond-caveman" condition.

Question from someone rather new to figure collecting: what are the advantages to pre-ordering these scultures other than being among the first to receive them? Are the prices cheaper when you pre-order? I know these pre-orders for Goku and Bardock keep "selling out", but I've never had a problem in the past finding these scultures in stores and online long after they've been released at $30 bucks a pop (USD), so I feel like I won't have a problem finding these either. I'm basically asking if it's normal for pre-orders to sell out like that because I was just planning on purchasing mine at one of my local hobby shops.

With figures like this it's really not a big deal preordering them unlike the bigger lines like Figuarts etc. The only advantage would be getting them faster. Other than that there will be plenty online to purchase. Maybe not for long but definitely after release.

Online stores order a certain amount of stock from a manufacturer and put the items up online to let people know they will be carrying certain items. Pre-orders allow a store to gauge how much interest there is in a certain item and if they're popular enough, they usually order in more stock to fulfill demand. Being one to own a copy before others is simply a side perk and is usually not the main reason why some go through the process. In a nutshell though, it simply means more that you want the item even though it isn't currently not released but you will be guaranteed a copy once it becomes available. it works the same with stuff like video games.

Cool, thank you. I know how pre-orders usually work for other things, was just making sure I wasn't missing out on anything special when it comes to pre-ordering figures, like special pricing and whatnot. Looks I won't have anything to worry about. Regarding the scultures themselves, is anyone else put off a bit by Vegeta's pose? The leg positioning specifically? I get that he's in a kicking pose, but it looks a little odd to me when he isn't kicking anything. It looks better next to the Cell sculture, but still a little off. Still, outside of the slightly off-putting pose, it may be the best Vegeta figure I've seen, if only because the face detail is spot on. I'll probably pick it up for that alone. I will of course be grabbing the Goku and Bardock figures because I am a human with eyes. Might grab the Raditz one, too, but will probably pass on the Nappa.

Crane machine prizes usually don't come up in price when they are first released, you definitely should have nothing to worry about with pre-ordering for those. The Scultures4 for example when were new, were about 700-1200 yen in japan. If you make a large order from a shop\middleman that can help you save up on combine shipping or other fees you can get those very cheaply.

Nice that you like the Scultures. Personally, I'll take all six figures. Goku and Bardock I've already pre-ordered. They are all more or less well done. The size of Nappa, Raditz, Vegeta and Cell 2nd form I was a bit disappointed. I'll ask anyway the Cell 2nd form and Vegeta addition to the Pichi Pichi C-18! But a bit into the background that the difference size the figures are not so noticeable!

I'm basically asking if it's normal for pre-orders to sell out like that because I was just planning on purchasing mine at one of my local hobby shops. To be honest, there's no real need to pre-order. Some collectors rave about cheaper prices when they pre-order, but then the idiots stack on the bucks when they get it shipped EMS. Why they would waste the time to pre-order at a cheap price, but then get EMS shipping escapes me entirely. Most people pre-order just to make sure they get an authentic piece, but you can find plenty of sellers who sell after it comes out that are legit sellers who sell authentic merch, and it's usually pretty easy to spot the ones that are trying to sell fakes. So these collectors that pre-order just want to be first in line to get it simply end up spending pretty much the same amount as they were to simply wait for them to come via domestic sellers. SCultures is a hugely popular line, so there will be plenty once you can get them outside Japan. In addition to this, Bandai apparently is going to start selling their Banpresto merch outside Japan, so it's not like these things will be unavailable overseas in the near future. However, with pieces like the Master Stars Piece Gohan coming out, I haven't seen reasonable prices outside Japanese or Hong Kong sellers. Amazon has them listed from independent sellers, and one company is doing pre-orders for $64. It's just some a-hole North American seller who is just scalping prices and stacking on shipping fees to boot, I mean WTF are these people on? I've already pre-ordered mine on Ebay from a legit Japanese seller for about a third of the price with free shipping.
