If your talking about ebay then its normal people always overpice things on ebay.... on actual toy sites there going for their retail price. Not only that, they're selling pre-orders for figures that you can still pre-order on regular sites. If you check the "where do you order your figures from" you can see a lot of suggestions on where to get figures pre-ordered. I just used toyzinthebox.com upon this forums recommendation.

MORE RAMBLINGS!
I forgot, I also am very into the Dragonball Abridged, and especially their Renegade for Life let's plays. Love that Vegeta, favorite character ever.
I'm also really into Dragonball Kai, and have been keeping up with the Buu saga as it's come out. Apparently only one more episode to go, then it's the long wait until the new series starts!

Didn't see the introductions forum before, and figured that I should probably at least post something in here, at least while I'm still new! A long time fan of Dragonball in totality. GT, while not the best, and some of the dialogue is truly cringe worthy, even still had cool designs and concepts. Otherwise I'm totally down with all 3 series. Loved the new BoG movie, and looking forward to this summers release! Let's see more about myself. I grew up a little early for Dragonball/Z's release in the US, but caught it before taking a bus to middle school in the mornings when it first started airing over here. I'm a HUGE video game nerd, and have gotten into all of the Playstation 2 era DBZ fighters that were 2D fighters. Rented the Tenkaichi style 3D games several times over their iterations and just could NOT get into them. Finally it *Clicked* with Xenoverse for me. The name Drowning Rabbit is from college. We played together as a team in Counter-Strike (1.6, calling back to the turn of the century here! ) and we had an idea to have our names be <VERB> <ANIMAL>. Well of course everyone chose something badass/deadly, like Stinging Mongoose, and Pouncing Tiger, I was more going for an amusing title, so I made a sad non-threatening name... and here we are! Aside from my other interests, the more interesting part of why I'm here? The S.H. Figuarts line of DBZ figures. I hemmed and hawed over spending $40 on the Frieza figure for a year when it was in stock on Amazon and ultimately gave up. I recently saw the Broly that was released and that sparked my interest, in seeing how articulated they are. Well, now I'm on a quest to .... well... collect them all I guess. I'm not looking for sealed, sitting in a box figures. These figures are meant to be played with and posed. My real drive is to get them into dynamic poses, and do photography sessions with some really nice setups. Including both with a plain desk kind of display to show them fighting, or otherwise interestingly posed, and also outside, fighting atop a "Mountain" or something. My wife is a photographer and regularly does a photo a day on a site called BlipFoto, so I was looking to do something similar. Some days will be mundane, sure, just figures contemplating stuff, but other days could be epic. I'm just starting my collection, and trying to NOT get bootlegs where it can be avoided, but I mean, I'm not going to pass up paying $30 for a figure vs. $300 for the same mold and decently similar quality. Speaking of, today I have the SDCC Vegeta "KO" version ( Datong knock off I assumed ) coming in and I'm super excited to get it. First S.H. Figuarts that I'll have! Then tomorrow, apparently legitimate SS Goku, Broly, Piccolo (Manga) come in as well. Got all this years releases pre-ordered already too. I'm diving in head first like Pete Rose! Well I've kind of rambled enough I guess. If you're looking for someone who enjoys DBZ on Steam or PSN, my ID is DrowningRabbit in both of those places as well. However, of note, I play Xenoverse on my PS4.

I actually went with TITB since everyone is giving their service high praise. 1st time trying them, hopefully they come through. Exactly why I went with TitB as well. First time pre-ordering from them. Otherwise I've just been lazy and using Amazon.

Picked all 5 cause way not, then Recoome since his fight is the most memorable to me. Even tho I picture him battle damaged with his butt showing. Third would go to Guldo cause he actually had a backstory. Jeice and Burter seemed to just "be there". I'll have more fun with ginyu frog than the captain himself, he had way more personality in that form. Newbie brother love right here. I went the same way. While Captain and the Frog would be amazing, I'd have to go with All or at least Recoome. Recoome is my favorite of the bunch, but I'd easily buy them all regardless.

This poll is still relevant, right? It's still open and it's supposed to last until July 2015? There hasn't been new posts for like 4 months, so...I dunno. Of these, my most wanted is definitely Videl (she's probably my most wanted overall actually!) Pikkon would be awesome. As would final form Cooler (how does his "base form" have more votes? The final form is sooo much Cooler!!!) Well us newbs can keep it relevant! I would love Fat, Super, and Kid Buu. Majin Vegeta, Trunks, Goten, and Mystic Gohan go without Question. We need Whis and Beerus action figure as well! Particularly since they're also going to be in Fukkatsu no F. This is the first poll on the site that has been open still I totally would want Majin Vegeta, but had to vote for Fat Buu with Babidi. But has there really been a mixed release for the Figuarts stuff like that? I mean technically it's two characters? It couldn't be worse than the Rocket Raccoon Marvel Legends release, which had almost 0 articulation.

Very good news for the new collectors. Piccolo is a must have, very well done figure and not expensive at all. Literally JUST won a Lot of 3 figures, one of them being Piccolo. I feel like I didn't really get much of a deal at this point. Piccolo, SS Goku, and Broly, for $170. Still cheaper, but still! This would be Brand new in box.

I think it's been said, but does Toyz charge your credit card on pre-order? One of them did. I'd rather not that as I'd rather have that cash now to try and grab a older figure off eBay or something instead of just paying up front for months down the road. It's not a big deal, just easier to justify it to the wife and all. The way I see it, is I'm gonna spend that money either now or then, so doesn't matter when it gets spent. I feel better paying for pre-orders now and just not have to worry about it when it comes out. To answer your question though, Toyz does charge now. Animeisland has an option for 20% down now and the rest later. MHToyshop has the option you're looking for though. You can either pay now or pay later. For them, the shipping is charged at the time of shipping no matter which option you choose. Good point. Ordered from Toyz since they had the 4 pre-order figures in stock. ( SSJ Gohan, Super Cyan Goku, Ult Gohan, and Golden Frieza ) Thanks for the tip!

I live in Jersey so it might be around the same. I thought about it and even with the cheapest shipping (usually 5 bucks) it's still cheaper to go with Toyz. Just pre-ordered from Toyz I think it's been said, but does Toyz charge your credit card on pre-order? One of them did. I'd rather not that as I'd rather have that cash now to try and grab a older figure off eBay or something instead of just paying up front for months down the road. I don't feel any need FOR him. He never did have a US official release. It was actually released in the US with the Dragonball: Raging Blast 2 PS3/360 game. But nobody bought that so I guess it's kind of moot.

Here is my current collection as I just started the beginning of this month.... Got three more coming next week SSJ Vegeta,Android 16, and Vegito. So ridiculously jealous of your Freiza. I just started actively collecting this weekend. I have Broly/SS Goku/Piccolo/SDCC Vegeta (Knock off)/Goku (May or may not be a knock off?) on their way. Also pre-ordered Vegito.

I just started a collection this weekend. I got what I deserved I guess with Freiza. I always looked at the Freiza figure for $40 and hemmed and hawed over it, not buying it. Now it's upwards of $2-300
Looking to actually pose/use them for a photo project and have fun with them so USED eBay listings are OK with me, but I was going to start creating a spreadsheet to track prices historically for it.
Might actually be a good portfolio piece to put online too. (Have to look at any eBay API's for completed auctions)
ASIDE from that, stream of conscious thinking and all. >.<
I ended up picking up: * Datong or other 'KO' knock off of SDCC Vegeta in original colors * Goku (Looks legitimate, but shipped from China, has the proper "Dragonball Z" and Ban Dai logos on it. Not Dragonball Kai. * Lastly I won a lot that had Broly, SS Goku, and Piccolo for around 180 shipped. I was decently pleased with that one as I looked up the prices and it looked like Broly was extremely expensive at around 100, while SS Goku and Piccolo look to be hitting around $60-70. (Shipped from CA as well, so I don't have to wait a month)
E: Just looked and there is an API for ebay completed auctions... I have a new project on my hands. I know there are price history sites for Video Games/Movies and such, couldn't find one to see history of figures, specifically these. I looked due to my sudden interest in the figures.
