Does anyone know what the deal is with these SDCC at home bundles? Are they the exact same figures that have already been released and in the same boxes?? Or are they putting the existing figures into new boxes? Roshi, Kid Goku, Bulma, King Piccolo Exact same figures and boxes. Nothing new, just bundled together for the price. Interesting that you found a bundle with Roshi. The current bundle I found has Tao Pai Pai instead.

I would say it's a custom. The glossy purple on the body is slightly darker and doesn't match the metallic purple on the arms and legs. Plus there are bubbles or creases on the sides of black border of the RR logo. That makes it look like a sticker or decal that is not factory made.

Quick update. I spoke with the guy at DC and he wasn't familiar with either of the Goku figures. He was only at Irwin the last year or so, and it sounded like these figures might have been before he was there. One interesting thing he did mention is that there was a playset of Dr. Gero's Lab that they made a model of with the intention of producing. He said he might have photos of it somewhere, but wasn't sure. He also mentioned a couple of sculptors who also worked with Irwin Toys, so I reached out to see if they know about the figures.

Branjita I may be able to find more info on this. One of the companies I work with is DC Collectibles. The Executive Director there worked at Irwin until they closed. Next time I go in, I'll see if he has any info about this.
When Andrew posted this in the FB group yesterday, my first thought was similar to yours, that it was just a 'custom' model made for internal use, but not meant to be a final sculpt used for tooling in production.
Also, the prototype Goku figure that Capsule x Nike found is not painted, but cast in that tan-ish color. I'm pretty sure it was an Irwin Prototype and not JAKKS. I'll ask about that figure, too.

Looks like there is going to be a base form Trunks. The head sculpt on this looks much better than the SSj version. . Where in the world did you find those pic? Are you still in the industry and doing the paintwork? Yep, still painting prototypes. Not any DB, though. Like doomprevails88 mentioned, it's from ebay. I just didn't want to post a link in case someone was going to go for it.

Thanks for the heads up, doomprevails88. I received the email from Photobucket the other week, but I too have been waiting to see what a good alternative will be. I don't have that many photos, so I may just end up using Imgur.

It is from the DragonBall Part 2 keshi/keshigomu/dorakeshi gashapon figures. In the series it is known as フクロウ(中国帽).

I don't know anything about the "Tao Pei Pei" figure, but it looks like it is wearing one of Yamcha's outfits. Attachment DeletedThe Gold Frieza and Goku Black are from a newer line of gashapon called Ultimate Grade. Frieza is from Part 1 and Black is from Part 4. Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted

doomprevails88 That is a cool set. I really like the Roshi! According to Google Translate, the manufacturer is Toy Maker. Looks like that is what the TM in the bottom corner stands for. The small black text next to Roshi's feet says something like "Oolong pencil sharpener", though the figure looks more like a pencil topper. If you want to find out more about it, I'd contact this guy www.instagram.com/retroworldkorea/?hl=en . He is a seller in South Korea who deals in vintage toys, including DragonBall. EDIT: I'm pretty sure this is the seller you bought this from off eBay. Branjita The Oolong doesn't look like a bootleg of any keshi I have seen. The sculpt looks too different.
