Hey, guys, please support my book series. I think you'll be pleasantly entertained, and if not, well, that's okay, too. I've put thousands of hours into this series since 2011 when I began writing, and since 2014 when I made the first publication. Volume 4 was released in October, and took a whole year to write. It was written in memory of my dad, who passed away in 2015. My custom time has been replaced with this, and I have been hoping it could provide a little side income post-release, and eventually, a stable income. I have been wrong on that, as my books have received little attention, though good attention (Volume 1 has 8 reviews, and a 4.8 star rating). I tell everyone with an interest, that "it's the best series you haven't heard of."This year, I plan on writing volume 5 and do some customizing, too, but it would certainly make me feel better knowing I was getting some additional support. I want some feedback, too. Even if there's something you don't like. It's better than silence. But hell, I gave it a Dragonball-feel, so you may love it! I'd appreciate it very much! The paperback is only $10 for each, and $3 for the kindle version only. If you don't have kindle, just download it. It's free. Here's the link to purchase them. www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=plates+of+kokoroThanks, guys. PS: If you didn't know, our very own Branjita designed these awesome covers

Also, Adrenaline , this is what I meant when I was talking about the neck peg. Look at that thing! it's absurd! If Vegeta's is even half that long, there is NO reason his head should sit that low. That's insane. I wonder what benefit it was to them to make it that way. In Vegeta's case, I guess he at least has plenty of neck if anyone wants to go through the trouble of adding filler in there and raising the peg to raise the head lol

I understand. At our age, work gets in the way of fun. But what you got is still impressive to say the least. If I win the lotto, I'll be sure to share a little wealth. Seeing all this and being on the site more makes me want to customize again. We'll see.

It's true that Bandai doesn't care about making the same character in different lines, but dear mother of God, it still makes no sense.
These model kits would be hotter if they released 17 and 18 in their Super outfits, and just focused on different characters that the Figuarts line hasn't made. This would allow collectors to integrate both lines into their collection, as oppose to making them compete, and forcing collectors to pick just one (because they have the same characters).
Just imagine a Figure-Rise Ginyu Force. Insane.

Awesome. I have a special place in my heart for collections that are similar to mine, or at least base themselves around the 5 inch scale Did you reach your 2017 goal of 350 figures? I had 500, but after two selling periods, I am probably at 400 now.

I get it, but the standard practice of "playing it safe" still has its own risks. I'd rather take the risk of creating some badass sculpts that no one else would make, and either flourishing or failing as a result. I mean, come on, a Magetta figure would be so freakin cool.
As for the Dragon Stars Vegeta, it's the worst one of the entire set, and might look better with a neck and a Trunks head, since Trunks' physique is probably more similar to Vegeta than Goku.

Like it or not, cheapness will get you burned. Jakks recycled body parts and look at what happened to them. It's fine to do that here and there, but if you overdo it, then that's a BAD move. Jakks didn't give a crap when they gave Tien, Broly, Bojack, and Goku literally the same body on multiple occasions. And we noticed it, then the line fell apart. They even began re-releasing Irwin sculpts.
The way I see it, coming out with brand-new sculpts in the first set is not a bad financial decision. To me, it's an investment. In fact, the first wave WAS technically all new sculpts (of course they re-used some in wave 2) But while new sculpts are a risk I admit, they are an investment that tells buyers that they actually give a damn about their products.
The Irwin main articulated line didn't recycle anyone until they re-released Goku in their Series 7 line from the original Series 4 one. Every figure to that point was an entirely new sculpt. They went on to make 65+ figures in 12 series, and only recycled that 1 figure to my knowledge. I think that's a proven good move.
There's no point in saving a buck by re-using the same bodies if it's just going to lead to a suspension of the line.

Well, I did suggest that if Goku and Vegeta were SS Blue in waves 1 and 2, then they'd be selling better. A normal Vegeta is just pointless when there are so many new characters to make. BUT, I would have skipped the movie arcs (especially since Figuarts made Beerus, Whis, and Golden Freeza already) and instead, I'd have began with universe 6 in waves 1 and 2, especially since they were airing dubbed.
Could have gotten Champa, Hit, Cabba, Frost, Botamo, and Vados in waves 1 and 2, with Magetta as the build-a-figure across both waves. (We didn't need Shenron, and Magetta would be such a cool figure to build. Botamo would only sell to complete the team.) Not only would Figuart collectors buy these, but those that can't spend $60-70 on one figure would collect them as well, if mommy gives the a-ok.
Then waves 3 and 4 could have featured SS Blue Goku, SS Blue Vegeta, SS2 Trunks, Zamasu, SS Rose Black-Goku, and SS Blue Vegito, with Merged-Zamasu as the build-a-figure.
I just feel that would have been such a better start.

Considering the influx of Gokus and Vegetas from all various lines, I wouldn't call them heavy hitters in these first two waves. MAYBE if they released them as SS God or SS Blue, then yes, but every time I see these figures, it's just tons of Gokus and Vegetas. Normal form and regular SS don't sell like they used to. Safe to say Beerus is the catch from those waves. As for Freeza, he'd sell better if he was Golden. No? As for the price range, $25 is still too much for a kid's figure. I think the moms are probably going with option C, which is "NO" lol As for the other lines (Marvel, DC, Power Rangers, Star Wars) do they have the variety of figures out right now like Dragonball has? You probably know more about them, but if I were a betting man, I'd say no. Dragonball has a pretty extensive array of figures and statues out now, and in various scales (except the beloved 5 inch )

But it IS trying to be Figuarts.....it's like Figuarts-Lite. It may be following a structure to Marvel Legends, but that doesn't mean collectors of these will buy the Marvel Legends figures, too, just because they're similar. Again, kids just getting into Super are going to have a hard time convincing mom to spend $25 on 1 figure. And with only 3 per set, the options are still limited considering how many new characters there are. You know what would give them a chance? If they made only new characters. The 1st set should have been the Universe 6 arc, and gave us Hit, Cabba, and Frost right off the bat. Safe to say the SSGoku and Vegeta aren't flying off shelves. I think we can agree there.

^Which is exactly why they will fail IMO. The line will be suspended within 2 years. You can hold me to that call lol As I have said before, trying to be too much like Figuarts will be their downfall (they actually scale better to Figuarts than any DB line of figures out there). But considering their scale is close to Figuarts, have similar articulation/sculpts, and even have similar packaging....Figuarts will still run them into the ground, and no, the price difference won't be enough to keep it running because $25 is still too much for little kids who want mom to buy them a new figure at Toys R Us. My mom did it for me, but they were $8. This series has NO chance to survive, UNLESS they make characters not currently in the Figuarts line. Even then, they are behind and time is short. 3 figures per series won't cut it.
