It's just so people can pick up these figures they missed. Especially Black, who sold out and spiked in price faster than anyone else. Quoting for truth and to reiterate.

Regardless of quality, I cannot in good concience support a company like Demoniacal Fit. I do hope that Tamashii is compelled to increase quality and range of characters as a result. Thats the only way to win. Why not Cuz of the "stolen molds" thing?. If something as big as a Hollywood movie production can listen to fans and stop filming to rework what the fans concerns are about aka Sonic, then why can't the same happen when voicing our frustrations with things like this? As others have pointed out its laziness plain and simple. I have no problem giving my money to a company that creates an in demand quality product that bandi tamashi wont! You're comparing apples to oranges, but I do see your point. To address this point properly, would require an in depth explanation of how companies like Bandai work. It'd require an in depth discussion and explanation of the process by which a product is produced. I'd like to skip all of that and try to explain it in short; the reason is that Bandai is a company that holds profits above all else. As they are publicly traded and their biggest concern is making sure the stock holders are happy. Now to address why I do not support Demoniacal Fit or other unlicensed manufacturers: a.) They hurt the industry. As I mentioned above Bandai is a publicly traded company, whose #1 priority is making sure their investors (stock buyers) see a return on said investment. If Bandai starts to see a decline in sales with a certain line of figures, they might axe that entire line. They have to respect and protect the "bottom line". Think about how many figure lines have simply stopped seeing production over the years. It doesnt take much to make the "bean counters" at a company decide to chop something from their line up. b.) Bootleg/counterfeit/unlicensed toys have a recorded history of producing products that are composed of carcinogenic (cancer causing) materials. Also common are lead based paints. They use these materials because they are cheaper. They also dont have to abide by the safety regulations that legitimate manufacturers do. c.) It undermines the intellectual property of creators like Akira Toriyama and the laws that are supposed to protect these kinds of property. d.) It bolsters and contributes to what is an already out-of-control counterfeiting industry in China. This industry has robbed the world and its innovators of billions of dollars by stealing intellectual property and then producing products with cheap, some times dangerous, materials. This is an issue that affects many different industries in the world. In essence what I'm saying, is that innovators and creators work hard to make a product. The Chinese counterfeiting industry steals it (be it a mold or intellectual property like character designs) and produces it with exploitative labor, dangerous materials and zero regulation. They then profit from this. This is unethical. Do I understand why people buy these counterfeit figures? Sure, I do. What I hope is that Bandai works harder to produce a wider array of figures and a higher level of quality, without raising the price. This is much of the motivation I see for people buying these figures and Bandai could stop it in its track by working harder to compete.

Very cool that you thought to reach out and email Derrick at Bandai, even cooler that he replied so swiftly.

I'm hoping they removed the BAF so they could invest more into better figure sculpts.

Watch them celebrate 10 years by reissuing the manga versions of Piccolo and SSJ Goku Reissuing an "exclusive" doesn't make it very "exclusive" anymore.

They need to hurry up and announce ultra instinct Goku and SSB evolution Vegeta. I'd consider the UI Goku to be a certainty. Maybe not this year, but its a "no brainer" type of figure.

The only figure I can think of that I want to see released this year (or at least a prototype) is Raditz. Oh and "Farmer with Shotgun". I'd buy two of those.

When are the new 2019 expected to hit the stores ? Seeing them on YouTube is making me want them. Expect them around March. Give or take a few weeks.

The 1992 SBCs were made in Japan, not China.
