This is most excellent M5, a few things need to be switched up \ edited whatever. The series with the gold shenron is actually it's own thing, not a kuji line. It was a separate lottery called the "Garapon". There is another flyer, that proceeds the first one with the Oozaru's that I've spent years trying to find that shows the actual kuji Shenron and it's limited versions of Gold and silver. I believe the Goku on the bike is also part of this elusive series dating as far back as 06-07. Also, I believe I have the actual official flyer for the Namek / Frieza set as well. Excellent work though dude.... That damned flyer with the vegeta oozaru has eluded me forever! Edit: I realize what I just said might be a bit confusing, it breaks down like this. The original kuji release had the Big Shenron in it, it's double chance counter parts were a 1 of 100 gold version and a 1 of 100 silver version. They differ from the garapon lottery versions shown above. The original Gold kuji version has black eyes, a different shade of gold, and comes in an orange box, just like normal shenron. The silver is packaged like this as well. In the Garapon lottery... The gold Shenron was the standard version, and was limited to 1000. This one, is solid gold, with gold eyes. It comes in a blue box. There was a double chance for the Garapon as well, which is the Gold and Black, red eyed shenron above. We need to find the damned flyer for that original Shenron release!!! Kudos for putting this up guys If it's not too much of a request, could you maybe also put down a list of the items available for that year's Kuji corresponding to the images? Also, what was the double chance version of the Baby Goku in space-pod and SSJ3 Goku? That Garapon double chance Shenron is just

Oh man, this is just pissing into the wind anyway, just look for the Toei sticker in the back of the box, and don't buy from stores in China anyway. I think that the bootleg box is just smashed, not that there is height difference between the bootleg to the original. Those cheapskates have started counterfeiting Toei stickers too, IIRC. And no disrespect, but in the pics, the bootleg box does not appear to be so smashed that it would impart such a drastic difference in height. Could you please share a hi-res pic of the back of the original box? burdocksan, just curious, I found a seller that seems to be selling a Ver.1 Medicos Goku (based on the white backdrop color in the pictures). I'm kinda hesitant due to the fact that it is a Chinese distributor (I heard that mainly Japanese distributors sell it...), and not really sure about the reliability of the website. What do you think?? Link of the distributor/figure Looks legit to me. If possible, ask the seller for some pics of the back of the box showing the Toei sticker. Does DHgate offer buyer protection?

Some notable differences between the genuine vs. bootleg versions that I observed from these pics: - Original version has a straight, in-your-face stare while the bootleg one seems to appear to be looking slightly downward (although this can be attributed due to the placement of the two figures
- Original version has a yellowish overall hue to his hair while the bootleg has an overall orange hue thereby lending the original a distinct color contrast. the same applies to the translucent/acrylic variants too. Original is distinctively yellow while the fake has an orange hue.
- Similarly, the body on the original has a pale flesh tone opposed to a reddish tone on the bootleg.
- Original ver. has subtle weathering paint app on thigh compared to the more pronounced finish on the bootleg.
- Ki auras: In the original, the first variant(solid hair) shares an almost similar color to it's fake cousin. Whereas in the acrylic variant, the original sports a total yellow coloring with no orange shading whatsoever unlike the bootleg.
- Ki Auras again: In both variants, the original has striking, translucent auras but the bootleg have milky or opaque ones as hinted by Branjita.
- Box: The original is slightly taller than the bootleg. I can't see any lens distortion to render such a drastic difference in height and both have been placed on an even, flat surface. Also, the black bar printed down on the back of the box for the specs and legal info is thicker in the original than the bootleg. This is done to accommodate the Toei sticker which is yet another well known way to spot a fake.
- As Ketchup originally noted, the original comes with a white backdrop on the inside of the box while the bootleg makes do with a blue one.
I'm sure you guys must have observed these differences but I just thought of summarizing it up. Hate that it wasn't the real McCoy, but at least you kept a positive outlook and even added some pretty cool details! Nice work! He shoulda got the Desktop McCoy instead!

That Goku is veeeeeeeeeeeery nice. You gotta show us your collection!! ^^ I don't have any collection left now man. It's just these two and a couple of Goku and a Krillin figures. As I'd mentioned elsewhere, I suffered a setback some time back and got out of everything completely. Now it's just DB and nothing else*!! * except SS Wonder Woman just open it, I will open mine and throw away the box (when i get it eventually) That looks good. Feelin' the need to look into the others too!

The item is located in Japan and so is the seller. I think you should proceed with the purchase. It seems legit to me. Ichiban Kuji items aren't as bootleged as retail items. If anything goes wrong, Paypal got your back. I did check out the link. As lexy said, the fact that it's in JP is probably a good sign. Most japanese collectors and sellers look down on the sale of bootleg product. Also, I don't think I've ever seen a knockoff of that particular figure before, BUT that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. My personal opinion though is that it's more than likely authentic. As for double chance Kuji's . No they don't make a limited version for every release , they typically do it for The A or B prize from a specific set. Here's some examples : the original Kuji SHENRON has two 1 of 100 releases in gold and also silver. The Goku oozaru was releases as a 1 of 100 in gold and also as a 1 of 20 black version. The list goes on to include Kaioken Goku, Wander adventure Bulma, Frieza in his chair, Broly and a few others as well. Typically a figure getting a double chance version simply alters the paint applied to the figure and in a few cases the materials used to produce it. The only one I can think of where they actually went balls out and really modified the actual figure itself , is the goodbye Goku figure. The double chance versions has massive translucent angel wings added to it, and got a completely new box design. It should also be noted that almost all double chance versions past the first few, DO NOT HAVE TOEI STICKERS ON THE BOXES, but should include paperwork and a letter from ab presto stating it's significance and authenticity. Thanks for the valuable info Caps. The seller responded and sent me some pics today. I have indeed taken note that the double chance versions ditch the Toei sticker in favor of a certificate of authenticity. My source? Ebay listings by some member named Capsule x Nike! I'd indeed love to own that goodbye and Kaioken Goku double chance versions. Got any pics that I can upon?

While that is reassuring, the seller still hasn't replied back.

Don't even get me started on the itch I have to go right now and unbox him. But this figure is too special for me to give him that kinda treatment. Maybe I'll get another one just for that. And it's a matter of time before you give in too. Resistance is futile. Believe me this

What a story man! Yes this is the one I was talking about. It is indeed a marvelous piece. I wish I could be lucky one day to find it with a decent price. Haha! I can't even describe the uneasiness I was experiencing during that long wait. I used to email HLJ like crazy and yet they would patiently reply with '"We'll keep you informed" template. I even had started contemplating to get him off Evilbay. I'd used my colleague's credit card for the purchase and one fine day, he walks in at work and says that his card has got charged for purchase at HLJ. Spent the entire day reminiscing the way I got him I haven't opened the box till date!

The normal release? These pics I put above are of the normal and only release, lol. When you said Mecha Goku, I thought you were referring to Mecha Goku figures in general, lol. The other one I was thinking was this (the Museum one) and this Ichiban Ok, my bad. I thought you meant that there are two versions of that figure - a normal release and an Ichiban release. Thanks for clarifying. I very well understand that not all merchandise have the sticker on the front window. Which is why, I asked the seller specifically for a photo of the top of the box to confirm its authenticity. So far, he hasn't replied and I haven't paid him. Should I keep ebay in the loop about this?
