Given the news that Bandai America is losing the Power Rangers license, and that they won't have a booth at New York Toy Fair, I wouldn't be surprised if this line dies. Honestly, my bet is that Bandai America shuts down all together while Bluefin continues to distribute Bandai Japan's products

Man, Trunks is my favorite Dragon Ball character but that hair really bothers me. The face is ok, though, so maybe if they do a base-form Trunks I'll pick that up, just to give the line a shot

It's an incredibly easy fix. Krillin comes with leftover Gohan faces. Just take the eyes from Gohan and put them in the spare faces that come with Krillin

If you just want a Trunks, get the Saiyan Armor Trunks. I have him and I love him. He looks badass even in the most vanilla poses If you want Trunks in his main outfit, I'd personally wait for a 2.0. IMO the original Trunks mold is one of the worst looking in the entire Figuarts line. I also have the Figure-Rise Trunks, and he's nice except for the sword. He's my second favorite in that line after Perfect Cell

cmon figure rise, step your game up, figuarts just released a bunch of new prototypes make different characters please, or at the very least make different versions of the characters you want to compete with figuarts with. As a long time Gundam collector, I can tell you that Bandai Hobby and Tamashii Nations really don't care if their lines overlap. For example, in October 2010, Bandai Hobby released a model kit of the Sinanju in the High Grade Universal Century line, and then just a month late Tamashii Nations released their Sinanju as part of the Robot Damashii line. Also, in general Bandai Hobby won't reveal a bunch of prototypes that may or may not get made the way Tamashii Nations does (although I guess they did when they launched the Figure Rise Standard line last year). Most of the time, when they show something off at a hobby show, it's in the pipeline and will be out in a few months.

Maybe its just my imagination, but anyone else think broly looks kinda smaller compared to the figuarts version? Proportionally they're very different. The Figuarts has a smaller head and broader shoulders.

In no particular order
Bardock 1st form Freeza Cooler SSJ Grade 3 Future Trunks Future Trunks (DBS)
I would have voted for Future Trunks 2.0, but I feel like he's pretty much a given, since Bandai basically just needs to remold Time Patroller's upper chest, slap on Xeno Trunk's head, and then give him a new sword and sheath
As for figures that aren't on the list 2nd form Freeza Mecha Freeza King Cold

I'm guessing Piccolo is going to come with an alternate SSJ head for the previously released SSJ2 Gohan, the way Broly is coming with alternate faces for SSJ Goku and Vegeta

That wasn't an intended feature. He has those parts because the kit re-uses runners from SSJ2 Gohan. If you want the slippers you'll have to somehow make them yourself.

For me it's a case to case basis as to which I prefer. For instance I think Figure-Rise Trunks has a much better sculpt that Figuarts Trunks, and I prefer the buffer Figure-Rise Cell to the IMO rather scrawny looking Figuarts Cell. On the other hand I think that this year's Figuarts SSJ2 Gohan looks better than Figure-Rise Gohan
Also, believe it or not, the Figure-Rise models played a role in getting me into Dragon Ball. Unlike most people here, I did not grow up with Dragon Ball. I am however, a long time Gundam fan, and I've been building those models for years. When Bandai started putting out the Figure-Rise Standard models last year, I kind of thought "oh hey some of those are actually pretty cool" and so I decided to give Kai a watch.

Eh, for me, the Figure-Rise Standard models fill the "cheaper alternative to Figuarts" role better, but then again I am a Gundam fan who builds a ton of models anyways
