Amazon has the DoD Vegeta for $45 shipped (to the US) And the Trunks for around $80. What I suggest is that you buy them in bulk to save on shopping. Save up and get 4-5 items that you really want, and shipping will be much cheaper. Or find someone based out of The States that is willing to order these for you and ship them all together. It might be even cheaper considering the prices here in the US are lower.
But it's not cool to tell the OP that "he's in the wrong hobby" just because he's being assertive and looking to stretch his dollars. Plus, he has to take international shipping charges into consideration.
That being said, if you don't already have the Master Stars Piece Vegeta, I highly recommend it over the DoD. Way cooler, IMHO. And same price.

...so i took the plunge and ordered the Figuarts Zero EX Trunks from Amazon ($50 shipped.) From everything I've seen and by the dimensions on paper, it should scale well with MSP. Any thoughts?

They actually don't look bad. Obviously the articulation is inferior, but it would be interesting to see exactly how they compare to the Figuarts in that regard. But in terms of looks, one could even argue that that the Dragon Stars Vegeta head mold looks even better than the older Figuarts one. (The one used on PC Vegeta looks like a Datong in comparison to the new one.) But that Goku is a total pass. (LOL)
Either way, I don't see myself acquiring these since I already have their Figuarts counterparts. Here in The States, you can get the comparable Figuarts for around $40 each shipped. Awakening Goku is even less than $40 shipped, actually. And the new SS Vegeta for about $45 shipped to your door. And as an enthusiast, I crave higher quality and are willing to pay more for it. This would be going in the wrong direction for me, personally. Having said that, I think these might "fill the gap", so to speak, for younger demographics and other collectors who may appreciate the price difference more (due to availability and added shipping costs, like yourself.)

Yeah... speaking as someone who has had to go back and collect figures that WERE con exclusives and never had a proper release (Marvel Legends and DCUC both did that occasionally), I MUCH prefer the Figuarts method. For those who want a specific version of Goku with, say, a specific Kanji it works out well, and for everyone else they don't have to pay 5x as much secondhand for a character they can't get otherwise. Frankly, I don't like it when companies manipulate the market value of a product line by limiting the supply. It is an artificial way of creating value for a product and its brand. And it's especially ridiculous when the product and its line is subpar quality-wise (and it hurts me to say that cause I love DB wholeheartedly.) But when you consider the overall shoddy quality in the DB Figuarts line when compared to other similarly priced lines, it becomes apparent that the value of the line is not being fully realized in several respects. People will undoubtedly still buy the products at the end of the day, and "collect", however, the 'collector value' is pretty low making their business model look a bit ridiculous. (For me, this notion was solidified with the latest SDCC Kaioken Goku exclusive, being a re-painted figure based on an outdated mold and bundled with limited accessories.) I think that A) they could make a crap ton more money if they would just make continual re-issues (and re-colors), just look at how popular the PC Trunks and Cell have been, all while satisfying collectors and enthusiasts. They should be capitalizing on the ridiculous DB Figuart re-seller market. They already do this with a number of other lines. And (B) If you make limited runs of exclusives, make em worthwhile with higher overall quality even if the retail prices have to go up. If they both, raise the supply, and raise the quality of the line, it would solve most gripes people have, while also making them a lot more money. But just like Nintendo, they are short sighted and have their heads buried in the sand (for lack of better terms) with respect to overall business strategy. They are failing to realize the full potential, and to maximize the value of the line (from both ends, themselves and the consumers) (f) My point: DB Figuarts, even though they are priced as premium figures, the overall quality (from the paint/lack of shading, outdated molds being re-colored and sold as "exclusives", lack of accessories; effects, stands, etc.) leaves much to be desired. And the exclusives are hardly worthy of being an "exclusive. "Thus, IMHO, highly sought after originals should be re-issued (even if they're re-paints) and the exclusives should be, indeed, "exclusive", and should also be more accessible, and produced in greater quantities, to meet existing demand. DB has a special place in our hearts, and they have us suckered (myself included.) *Goes to buy Kaioken Goku from a re-seller (reluctantly) *

Also.
How well does the SSJ3 EX Zero Goku scale with the Master Stars Piece Vegeta? I understand that the Goku is floating off the stand (about an inch inch and a half?) in a sort of flying pose, but in the pics I've seen it looks rather big, still. i was wondering how they'll look together.
Anyone?
Thank you

Hi,
Can anyone show me how the EX Zero SS Trunks looks next to the MSP Vegeta? (Goku would be fine as well)
All the best

I'm really looking forward to the Saiyan/Frieza saga Vegeta release. Do we know if it'll be a "Premium Color" recoloring or same shades but with the 2.0 mold?
All the best

I agree with jonmichael, I still haven't got around to buying 17 yet (Amazon won't ship him here so I need to set up a stupid re-direct thing... will do it eventually lol) but 18 is a great figure. Enough articulation, joints work perfectly, heaps of accessories and looks great (especially with Android 16 who is also an awesome figure). They're not exactly super expensive on the 3rd-party market either so if they were really going to remake something, I'd rather they did something else first like Piccolo, one of the older Goku figures, Scouter Vegeta or even Frieza (again not in a huge need for a remake but could use a PC edition to lower the price a bit) I've been on the brink of pulling the trigger on No.18 numerous times, and I always top myself at the very last second. i just can't bring myself to pay $90 for it -.- I know it seems silly, I'm not cash strapped but I just have other priorities.

I hope that we get new no. 17 & 18's with the new joints. it's probably a long shot but i hope so There's nothing they can do for 17. But if they want to make a new 18, then obviously the outfit with the black vest, white shirt (if I remember correctly) would be the way to go. We'd need an Semi Perfect Cell to go with that though Still so many options. An imperfect Cell seems like a no-brainer. I've always thought that Bandai dropped the ball in that regard.

I really hope not. 17 and 18 aren't absolutely perfect, but they are great figures. They are much better than Goku, or the other early figures, and don't really need a redo. It wouldn't even be that much of an improvement. That just seems like wasted slots. Save those slots for characters we haven't even gotten, yet. Well, I missed out on the original releases, so a re-issue of the existing figures would be perfectly fine by me.

I don't think it will affect the cost of the SDCC Gohan. That has more going toward value than just the figure, itself. Convention exclusives always tend to hold their value better. It's still the only way to get a clean anime version of Gohan. Now, Manga Gohan...I can see that taking a big nosedive. Lol, makes me a little mad I didn't wait to buy him until now. Does this new Gohan look like he has a slightly larger head? It kinda looks like it might be a little wider than the previous Gohan. I wonder it it could be a nice choice for a "youthful" custom head. Regular release Gohan is $30 in most retailers, I highly doubt it'll go any lower. The new one will be $40+ so it'll be in a different pricing tier, so it wouldn't really influence RR Gohan's market value.
