These do look like an interesting line. That commercial was pure gold from an advertising standpoint, I really got a kick out of that, very entertaining.

Great thread, this is some very interesting information. I am collecting some of these, and it will be helpful in knowing what I want to get if it was sculpted by someone who did one I already own that I really like. Thanks for sharing!

I've just started collecting again recently, so I missed out on everything from 2007-2015. In the old days, before the Irwin/Jakks era in the USA, I was all about the Super Battle Collection. I completed that set (Loose, mint display pieces) and had them all on a shelf for many years before I finally packed them all away for space. Those were mostly static, aside from being able to move the arms up and down at the shoulders.
Now that I started collecting again, I am all about Banpresto. My "new" collection began with "The Figure Collection". I have all of those now, and am sincerely hoping they continue the line with more Z and Super characters. I really like this line a lot, and believe it is my favorite.
I have now started getting some of the Master Stars Piece collection, but I'm a little late to the game with these guys, as many of them have been around for a while. I am not planning to try to complete a collection of them, as there are already too many I missed getting at a reasonable cost. So I have decided to collect the Super Saiyans from the series only. I currently have the re-issue Super Goku (King of Coloring I think it is called) and I recently purchased Super Saiyan 2 Gohan (First version, not the bloodied battle damaged re-issue). I am trying to get Super Vegeta now, but he is already climbing in price, so he may be the only older one I purchase. I don't care about Vegito (I don't know why, but Vegito figures have just never really done anything for me) and I don't really want either of the base form Gokus because no one else besides Trunks is available in a base form figure in this line to go with. I may get the Super Saiyan God ones down the line, but I'm not sure yet, I haven't decided.
I'm starting to look at Banpresto's other lines now. Scultures have been around for a while now, so there's really no way for me to track down a bunch of them at reasonable cost, but I may take select pieces from it in the future if I see any that I want. The main ones on my radar right now that I'm considering collecting are Dramatic showcase and Resolution of Soldiers. I also have my eye on Genkidama Goku, the resemblance to the anime counterparts on those are amazing. So yeah, TFC is my favorite, but I have all of those currently, so I'm starting to look into some of the other lines to see what I like.

Well, for whatever it is worth, I returned to the community recently. If you guys even remember me, I don't know. I was one of the mods on the original board, and tried to keep it going for a long time after it changed ownership, but it was run by people we couldn't seem to contact. Loki and I could control the message forums and main page news updates, but updating the content pages with pics and info of newer figures was not accessible to us. I think we all drifted away from there because it was a sinking ship that we never knew when it would be shut down. I will say I am happy to have found this revived forum recently, and to see many familiar screen names. I do notice that there is not as much posting, but I am trying to visit a few times a week now and participate some. I dislike facebook and social media in general, so I'll stick around now as long as you guys do. I've started collecting again too, so I have incentive to check in frequently.

Oh shoot, that Kami & Junior set is really cool. I want those for my collection, I don't even care what scale they are. I'll find other figures that scale to them.

Has anyone got these Dramatic Showcase guys yet? I'd like some comparison shots with Scultures or DXF/TFC for scaling purposes if possible. I've been eyeing these for a while, and if the Cell and Ginyus are going to scale up with TFC, they may very well be future purchases for me.

I want to get this figure I think. I wonder how much Gamestop will charge for it?
Edit>> I Pre-ordered the USA version, it says the release date will be November 1st, if anyone was wondering.

Ah, I now own a MSP Son Goku as an additional reference point. So these guys are bigger than TFC, but smaller than MSP. They still look cool, I may look into getting them if I see them for a good price. I like the Banpresto stuff the most so far since I got back into this hobby.

That is one of the best likenesses of Goku I have ever seen. What scale are these guys in? Any comparisons with other Banpresto figures for comparison?

Minus the newer AB figures (Kami, Yamcha, etc) which I never completed that set, but the original AB Super Guerriers is a set that I also own all of them. However, almost my entire set is loose. It took me many, many years to track down most of them back in the day. A few of them I did get NIB, and I knew they were super rare to find, let alone still in the package, so I never opened them. Kibitoshin was one of the last ones I got to complete the set, and he was still in a sealed blister bubble. I think Android 13 was the last one I got if I am recalling correctly, but he was loose from another collector. It was the best I could do with the funds I had available at the time (he was one of the most expensive ones back when I was collecting them). I think maybe five or so of mine were still in sealed packaging, and the rest were loose but mint condition display pieces. Definitely was a cool set.

I had the Cooler test paint one from the very set that Goku you have is a part of. I still have him somewhere, but he somehow fell off a shelf and his foot broke off. I was so bummed, he was the one of a kind guy that I had in my collection of those figures, and mine had to fall and break. Gosh I hadn't even remembered that until I saw this thread just now. That was so long ago.

I do believe they were leftovers, more figures made than vehicles to pack them with. They were already released individually in... Series 5 I think? That series had yellow hair, then they released the gold repaints of the same molds with the vehicles later on. Were these the only three released this way? I remember the packaging popping up, but I already had them from the vehicle play-sets I believe, so I didn't really pay much attention to them at the time. There was a Yardrat Goku prototype Irwin that never went into production, but someone actually purchased the prototype when it was sold on ebay. I distinctly remember that. (Maybe it was Soda? I saw him mentioned earlier in this thread, is he around on the newer board? I haven't talked to him in many, many years. Had his phone number at one point, but that was so long ago..)
That prototype was cool, if they had actually produced some of it and sold it at the end, I would still be interested in it even now.

Well guys, I wasn't sure if I wanted to collect MSP figures, but I was out running errands today and stopped in a couple shops I hadn't visited in ages just to look around because I had some free time later in the day. I was surprised to actually see MSP stuff at retail, when I assumed where I live that it was online order only type of product. First shop I went to had that cell-shaded looking MSP Super Goku. They were really proud of him too, had him in a glass display case with a price tag of $89.99. I thought to myself, "Well, cool, I finally get to see what the scale is on these in person. That cell shaded look is kinda lame though, and who would pay ninety dollars for it?" So, whatever, I saw one, which was cool, but nothing that got me too excited.
Then I went into another shop on the other side of the plaza, and they had some Dragonball stuff too, but most of it was ridiculously priced too. Figurearts Android 16 for $70, WFC (I think that is what they are called, those little chibi looking guys?) for $18 apiece. (I just shook my head at that for the size), then there was a bunch of other anime stuff messed up on a shelf and I saw a MSP Super Goku behind some Sailor moon stuff. It was $35, so I thought "Yeah, that's decent.." and picked him up. I believe it is the re-issue one, came in a white box with a multi-colored swirl behind him. After I got out to my truck, I was afraid maybe it was that funky cell-shaded one I'd seen in the previous shop, but thankfully that wasn't the case. It is the one with the corrected colors, blue instead of teals like I believe the original release had.
Anyway, I was pretty impressed with the figure for the price. I don't think I am going to try to collect them all like I did with "The Figure Collection" scale guys, but I might pick up a couple of others just for display. This is a pretty cool line.
>> Edit: So I decided I might like to get the Vegeta MSP to go with my Goku. I'm having difficulty finding one at a decent price, and when I do see some at a decent price, I'm unsure if it is a bootleg or not. (I know from reading here that bootlegs of this one are somewhat common.) Any help would be appreciated. I've been out of the collecting game for a long time. I remember way back when I had a whole bookmarks folder of reputable sites that I ordered my SBC guys and such from. I need to know some reputable guys to check out for some of these guys. A lot of the Amazon sellers are straight up scalpers on certain figures. Don't anyone mention Toywiz to me, by the way. I don't know if they are still around or not, but those guys short changed me on more than one occasion back in my Irwin collecting days, and I don't trust them.
