Crap.. Tamashii really didn't give a f*** about his normal head. Official pics: Edit: image links aren't working. Anyway, there's a topic for him with the pics

I like that effect! Sadly, unless another picture proves me wrong it looks like it is only Super Saiyan and no base head. Yep. The effects do look nice, but only 2 faces appeared until now, and both SS ones. I really prefer a base head over the second effect they showed now.

I didn't see that coming.. What I can say is that I'm glad I don't collect every single release including repaints lol.
I'm curious about Goku.. He looks too slim. Will he be another exclusive or just the upcoming release? I just hope Bandai doesn't downgrade him from what we saw in promo pics

So... Not to change the subject about preorders being cancelled and figures being extremely hard to obtain now but is anyone in here excited about the lineup for the rest of the year? Which of the following are you most looking forward to? Frieza Majin Vegeta Goku (A Saiyan Raised on Earth) 2.0 Vegito Blue (Dragonball Tour Exclusive) Broly - Alternate Color (Dragonball Tour Exclusive) Roshi Majin Buu Bulma Gotenks Curious to see what everyone's favorites are. From this line up I'm most excited about getting Majin Vegeta. Majin Buu comes next.

Honsetly, it's apain in the ass to identify fake Pops from authentic ones. The simplicity of some of the figures makes it sometimes damn near impossible to see the differences if you don't have an original verision at hand. Sounds stupid, but it's really helpful to trust your gut feeling, especially if you have already handled some Pops. - Is the paint job clean or are there some imperfections?
- Does the figure feel "imbalanced"? Does it topple over easily?
- Does the print job of the box feel cheapish? (I know, the authentic boxes are already not a piece of art....but still)
- Does the figure smell like chemical warfare?
- Does it have an imprint on the feets?
- Did you buy a Pop that is considered a grail for cheap. E.g. Arlia Vegeta for $20?
If you are in doubt, you really need to invest some time researching the actual figure. You will find many posts in forums, youtube, instagram etc. So try to compare your figure as thoroughly as possible. Find out what the collectors valua of the figure is and what people recently paid for an original version. You often will be able to find pictures of respective fake Pops as well, so also try to look into them. For each figure you will find different details that give away a fake. Especially the rare ones tend to be really hard to identify.
Now, in case of your Vegeta, I would say that you got an authentic one. I base this on the fact that the scouter has some transparency, which the conterfeits usually don't.
Compare to this reddit post:
Thank you very much! It was really helpful. Considering the aspects you mentioned, it must be authentic. The only flaw that I saw was a scratch in the scouter, but it must be common, since POPs aren't perfect. Ps: I laughed in the "chemical warfare" part

It seems legit to me, but I'm no expert on Pops... I mean... I didn't even know there were bootleg Pops... Thanks, problably it's the real deal, just wanna be sure. In US maybe there isn't a market for Funko POP bootlegs imo - unless you consider the rarest ones, wich are really expensive - other than that they go for around US$10. Unfortunately in Brazil they are not this cheap. While the real deal goes for 80 to 200 BRL (without shipping), the bootlegs in aliexpress cost about 30-50 shipped from China. (Keep in mind that shipping costs in Brazil are usually 25-50 BRL)

Well it's been almost 2 years since people stopped posting in this thread, but I'll try it anyway. I won a Funko Pop! Vegeta a long time ago, but I never new for sure if was authentic or not. Unlike Bandai, there's no Toei Sticker there I could check. If somebody could help me out to find out.. Thanks in advance!

^ Exactly.
In fact, there's some sort of speculation going on imo. If I had invested all my money back then when SDCC Goku 2011 was released, or even when other characters were released after and soon skyrocketed in price, I would won much more than 90% of financial assets in the market, lol
People know that web exclusives are scarse - in fact, they are - but not enough to empty store's stocks in such a fast pace. Even before than it sells out, people start to inflate prices 'cause they know it'll sell. The dangerous part is: many collectors are starting to get annoyed about this. I've seen a good amount of people quit collecting the line 'cause it's getting more and more difficult to get the figures.
If only Bandai stopped releasing web exclusives...

Nippon Yasan only sell legit figures, so you can be cool about that. If you ever feel insecure about authenticity of bandai's product, check the Toei sticker. If you pull it off carefully and see a watermark behind, then it's legit. There're some fake products that come with no sticker or fake stickers, but the fake ones don't have the watermark behind. You can see below how the legit stickers backside look like: Thanks for the tips gokubr, especially regarding the watermark at the back of the Toei sticker. I think I can immediately put it to good use since I recently got a figuarts ex trunks that has the sticker placed beside the "bandai collectors shop" logo instead of being above it like what I usually see in unboxings. Now I just have to muster the courage to peel off the sticker from an otherwise prestine box LOL Anytime! I don't know if the sticker's place means something, but I hope it's legit lol. Let me know when you find out!

I personally don't care about this Broly. I got the OG release, and there's already a SDCC release, so those who didn't got him these 2 times have a new opportunity.
The sad part is that problably he'll already be scalped from the beggining, and the supposed "new chance" to get a limited character for a fair price falls apart.
In add to that, if it'll be hard/expensive even for US collectors to grab him, imagine for the many collectors who live outside US.
Maybe a PCE would be the best option to Tamashii.
