BANDAI JAPAN "92" SUPER BATTLE COLLECTION
This guide covers only the Highly Coveted Bandai Japan "92" Super Battle Collection line. For the standard issue Bandai SBC's or the early 2000's repaint re-releases, please see the appropriate guides.
To get started , I would like to acknowledge a few misconceptions about these figures.
#1 Although they are commonly referred to as "92" SBC's , they actually span the years 1991-1993 , with Vol.1 and 2 being released in 91, volumes 3-9 being released in 1992, and Vol. 10 Broly being released in 1993. These are the years printed on each figures box, so the term "92's" isn't exactly accurate.
#2 They are also commonly referred to as the "Japan" SBC's, again, this is somewhat accurate but not entirely true. In late 1992, Bandai's production of the SBC figures Switched from actually being made in Japan, to being made in China (a common occurrence for almost all toy lines of the era.) While the first 8 volumes as well as the movie 3 pack saw their production carried out in japan, Vol.9 and 10 would see their fproduction begin in china. This is noted on their packages. When the switch occurred , the first 8 volumes also saw very short productions runs as "made in china" products. I have seen all 8 of the original Volumes , in this early style packaging with both "made in china" and "made in japan" markings, but have NEVER seen a volume 9 or 10 with a made In japan logo. If anyone has proof otherwise, please bring it to my attention immediately. Below is a comparison picture of a China Vs. Japan 92 Vol. 3 Piccolo , other than the place of manufacture, there are NO differences.
It should be noted that both the China and Japan versions include the 80's to Early 90's Silver Toei sticker on the packaging. The China Production run on these figures would be short, and give way to a (far less interesting and visually appealing) package redesign that would become the standard for the SBC line.

Lastly we come to what most consider the holy Grail of the SBC line, The Movie 7 3 Pack. This pack was the only way to obtain a Super Saiyajin Trunks in his first appearance outfit.
Movie 7 Promo Super Battle Collection 3 Pack 1992 Japan
Known Variants: None.
Note: While most sought this pack for the unique Trunks figure, it should also be noted that the Goku differs slightly from the standard release as this version wears the Cell saga style sash belt, where as the Vol.2 Super Saiyajin Son Goku has Freeza saga tied belt. All 3 Figures feature unique Orangish Yellow metallic hair.
