Tried a few variants of this one, and personally, I'm most fond of the middle version. It's a nice compromise between the blue of Arlia Vegeta's outfit (which I've always felt clashed with the green and orange) and the Forest Green of Kid Trunks' normal outfit.
As for the armor, I'm partial to the Krillin style armor with the two leg guards. Unfortunately, the shaders for that top don't work well with bright colors in Xenoverse, so I used the Gohan one here instead. Realistically, if it were to be in the show, it'd be the same style as the one Bulma made for Vegeta (no shoulder pads) but I like the aesthetics here more, and he matches the Arlia design more like this.
Goku: Cell/Buu Saga clothing (no symbol and sash without the knot) Vegeta: Cell Saga / Battle of Gods Gohan: Tough decision, but even though he doesn't wear it for long, the purple training gi at the beginning of the Buu Saga is the one that always pops in my head when I think about Adult Gohan. When talking about Gohan in general, Cell Games outfit is the way to go though. Piccolo: Quite obvious. Krillin: Saiyan Saga (Turtle hermit gi, no undershirt) Yamcha: Saiyan Saga (Turtle hermit gi, long hair) Tien: Saiyan Saga (shirtless, green pants) Future Trunks: His original Capsule Corp outfit with the sword Master Roshi: The orange shirt with shorts and slippers.

So re-watching the Bardock TV special today, thought I'd cover the titular "Father of Goku." I apologize in advance for this, some of the images aren't great here, but it's a bit difficult to get my hands on decent renders for a few of these outfits.
Bardock: The Father of Goku
So let's be real: In terms of "Definitive" looks for this character, this is really the only option. Much like Goku in his orange Gi, it doesn't really matter what else you put the character in, THIS is the armor most fans associate with the character.
That being said... while I don't dislike the design by any means, a few things rub me the wrong way. Ironically, what tends to bug me most isn't even an issue in the original special, it's that a lot of modern animation makes the armor this puke green-gold color that just doesn't look very good. It also uses the borderless strap model later used by Vegeta, which A. I'm not that fond of and B. Doesn't match the rest of the series.
Bardock: Dragon Ball Minus
(Again, sorry about the choice of image, but I couldn't find a good shot of this design that was also colored)
Without going into the whole debate of Dragon Ball Minus, this design for Bardock is... eh. On the one hand, I like the shoulderpads on this, since it's more reminiscent of the other Saiyans/Freeza Forces. On the other, the boots clash with the aesthetic of the design and throw off the overall color balance, plus the lack of headband removes one of the most iconic and memorable aspects of Bardock's character.
Bardock: Dragon Ball Online
So I'm a bit torn on this one. On the one hand, I love the subtle updates to the wristbands and boots: they just look cool to me for some reason. On the other... I hate the gold armor for Bardock, even if it's a better shade then some interpretations of the original. That, and the neck thing just looks goofy as all heck. All in all, it's a decent design that's clearly Bardock, but is also it's own thing.
Bardock: Dragon Ball Heroes 2
Hrm. Like... I want to love this design, because it honestly does feel like a Bardock that survived to the modern era and is wearing some of Bulma's brand of armor. On the other, while it looks good in the introduction trailer, it doesn't really hold up on closer inspection. The greens really clash, particularly the light green of the armored sections. I'm also not sure I'm fond of Bardock's arms suddenly being covered: that strikes me as a characteristic of Vegeta rather than Bardock.
That said, with a few subtle changes (even just removing the under-armor on his upper half) I think this could be my favorite alt design for the character.
P.S. I almost included the "Multiverse" Bardock outfit as well, but ultimately I felt it was more of a take on a "Modern" Saiyan uniform than an outfit specifically for Bardock, which is a discussion for another time and thread.
I like Bardock's original armour a lot, because its really unique. I also think the red arm and leg warmers make a great highlight against the green and black. Not to mention the legendary bandanna.
The Dragon Ball Minus armour takes away all the fun stuff. One may argue it's more accurate for a lower class Saiyan to have generic armour, but I like the idea of Saiyan armour not really having any rules. I mean they got it from Frieza's troops, and this primitive warlike race probably wouldn't be bothered with establishing rules and regulations for their armour. Before this they literally had caveman clothes so they aren't exactly fashion-concious.
bartek , Goku in armour is cool, but I like this armour better:
But that is hardly appropriate for a "Definitive" outfit seeing as it was only in an imaginary sequence!
On instagram - @waveactionfigures. Just figuarts poses!

I agree and disagree with that. On the one hand, yeah, I totally agree that the saiyans shouldn't have a "uniform" armor in the same way that the Freeza forces do. On the other, we don't see any version of the chest piece without the wider shoulder pads outside of the Bardock movie and the later Bulma armor. Even the shoulder-less "Namek Vegeta" armor is said to be a fairly recent model. I just don't see them making off-brand armors.
That said, I could see it being an extension of what we already do see in the Minus chapter, where either the shoulderpads have been blown off, or Bardock/other Saiyans purposely ripped them off. It's the sort of thing I could see them doing, the equivalent of tee shirts with the sleeves torn off.
