At work so I can't post pictures, but... toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=395&itemid=27922Found this article today. Honestly... I'm not fond of them. There's tons of better lines out there, and while the character selection is reasonable (including representatives of each of the four main Z villains, something even Figuarts can't boast about yet.) there are better lines of miniature DBZ figures out there with a better character selection. That said, I AM interested in seeing what the BaF Shenron looks like before dismissing the line entirely.

No interest in this line at all, but I hadn't seen it before.

The article was just posted today, and I haven't seen them anywhere else yet. I was surprised not to see them here, which is why I posted it.
That said, I'm not enthusiastic either, but I do want to see Shenron before I write it off completely. If nothing else though, it's a decent first wave... It covers a good range of the more popular characters, but leaves room for later waves.

Oh yeah, ew. I was considering getting them for the Shenron, but at $14 a pop that's not really worth it.

So the Shenron turns out to be a Build-A-Figure ... any idea how the pieces will be distributed? I really don't want to get all 11 characters and end up with 11 Shenron legs.

Kinda cool.
Better than those stupid Pop figures. They look pretty cool. Something different.

Apparently the figures have been released these days at some selected Walmarts. MORE INFOIn addition to the regular 11 figures and the BAF Shenron, some exclusives have been added. What are the "random prototypes"? Does the "1/48" of the metallic SS Goku and the "1/96" of the metallic Trunks mean that there are only 48 and 96 pieces respectivley worldwide or does this imply that there is a 1:48 and 1:96 chance to get one? I hope someone's got some more details.

I saw some pics in DBZ Collectors United on Facebook, and someone bought about $150 of these blind box figures. They are $13 each, which is absolutely outrageous for what they are in my opinion. And they are blind box... you have no idea what you're buying. Not to be over dramatic (but I'm going to be over dramatic...) I feel sad for the current generation of DBZ figure collectors who are punished with Funko Pops and figures like these Loyal Subjects ones. I grew up being able to buy awesome 5 inch scale Irwin and Jakks figures at Walmart. And everybody now is stuck with figures like these that don't even attempt to look like the artwork of DB/Z/GT/S. Everything looks like South Park. It's sad that Figuarts and Banpresto Crane Prize figures are the only ones that look like the artwork and they are super expensive... WCF are big headed figures too, which kind of sucks, since there is such a huge lack of 5 inch scale decent looking figures in the market now, and it's been that way for about 10 years now. WCF are also ridiculously expensive. I really don't think it's fair to kids (or adults) that decent 5 inch scale figures can't be had anymore for under $10 each. For $50 I could buy the entire series of Irwin figures released in a month. That buys a lot less now.

That buys a lot less now. i hear you bran, growing up i remember going to places like walmart and eb games seeing shelves full of dbz irwin figures and loving it. my favorite figure i had was the gold hair i think irwin ssj teen gohan with the dark green capsulecorp motorcycle thing. i had sooooo many figures, so many of those little metal plates and the little dragonballs that came with the figures. i wish i could remember more exactly what figures i had. but my aunt who raised me threw them all away after i moved out. i went back a few years later to get them because i started collecting again and they were all gone. i lived right next to a burger king too and i remember not eating lunch in school and saving my lunch money to sneak over there every day when i got off the bus to buy a kids meal, i had to have like 20 of the burger king figures lol. one of my cousins sold jewlery from a catalog and i remember for christmas one year she gave me this awesome silver DBGT watch, i loved it, and that was gone too! i kick myself every day not going back to get my dbz stuff sooner! but i do feel bad for the kids nowadays, the selection sucks. i hate those big headed figures.

I hope someone's got some more details. It's the 2nd thing you listed with the ratios. As for the prototypes, I'm not sure about those but I believe they're probably like a one color version of a figure from the wave In my opinion I feel Loyal Subject figures are way too expensive for being blind boxes. I recently bought some of the TMNT ones at $4 each and luckily only got one double out of 9 figures. I just can't imagine spending $14 for blind boxes even if they're normally packed about 2 of each character per box :/

So, do I get this right? I could buy 4 boxes for $13 each and could end up with 4 of the shenron explosion effect pieces?
