How much for the kale pieces??

Ascat I'm keeping Kale. I want to sell the stuff I had to buy in order to build her.

Just got the rest of my wave in, figured I'd give my thoughts before I threw most of these in my figure bin.

Gohan: Despite my general apathy for this half of the wave, I still feel like Gohan was my biggest disappointment of the three. His head looks thinner and his eyes are too big making his head look out of proportion, especially compared to the solicits, and it left me bummed about what's otherwise a decent figure. The Goku body mold is fine, and with some minor fixes and a repaint it'd be a fine replacement for the fugly 1.0 figuarts Gohan.

Freeza: I... Actually kinda dig this figure for what it is. The paint is on point, with the entire thing being metallic (even the face, which I think figuarts just made shiny). I'd even maybe consider swapping out my figuarts one... If it weren't so grossly out of scale even against other Dragon Stars figures. If you took away their hair, he's the same height as Goku and Gohan.

Kaioken Blue Goku: for a figure I expected to HATE and that I will never EVER display... I think this is easily my favorite of the bunch. I've mentioned my distaste for the awful kaioken figuarts figure before, but this figure did a good job of balancing the colors. It also doesn't hurt that it looks NOTHING like the AWFUL solicitation photos, that made him look like a cherry with neon blue hair.

Made a custom head for Figuarts Goku, using the Dragon Stars head. Thought you guys may be interested in seeing it. Included what I did with Vegeta as well, despite him not having anything to do with Dragon Stars, mostly because they look good together.

I've had the idea for this for a while but was scared to pull the trigger on it. Decided to man up last night, and it turned out nearly perfect.


I had noticed the way that the Dragon Stars SSB Goku head was put together, was almost exactly the way a Figuarts head works. The front of the hair is a separate piece, glued into place, but if you were to pull that off and slice off the face, you could potentially make the hair compatible with Figuarts faces. Long story short, yes, all of those things work.

Here's the gutted head, that now functions like a Figuarts. It ain't pretty, but it works surprisingly well.



Cutting down the inner part of the head, so that the face's ears line up with the ear indentations, was the first part of the puzzle. The next was figuring out what to do with the front hair piece. The peg used to hold in in place originally, had to be cut off, as it was glued in place and there was no way of removing it intact. So I opted to make a new peg, using part of a sprew from the Figure Rise SSB Goku. After cutting it down to size, I drilled a hole into the front hair piece, and glued it in place.

Obviously, the Awakening Goku faces look great, but don't match color wise. For right now, it doesn't bother me too much, but what I may end up doing is buy the Demoniacal Fit heads, just for the faces. But that's basically it, time for pictures!

Alas, poor Dragon Stars Super Saiyan Blue Goku! I knew him...

Vegeta on the other hand, was so forehead smackingly simple, that I have no idea why I hadn't tried this before. Figuarts SSB Vegeta's head cannot fit onto 2.0 Vegeta's neck peg...so just switch the neck pegs, either SSB or Premium Color Vegeta's works. Granted, it's not a perfect fit, since the portion of the the peg that goes into the neck if much shorter on those two, but it does pop into place nicely.

Might be a state thing for Walmart here in Southern California I've never seen Walmart carry DBZ stuff just Toys R but when they were still around
