You pray to your lord and saviour Kami when you seek redemption? Sometimes I find myself feeling the pull of the black water mist. Only when I pray to Kami do I feel the sacred water purify me! Ok

Man... no offense to you but people like you just annoy me! Box collectors or whatever the proper way theyre called. Like I know theres collectors who want their item mint precise condition, but its like a waste to be honest. As theres other people who want the figure to open and enjoy it but you just have sitting there or in the closet and such. Its like if you want it to be always in a box then there should be a separate line (I know its never going to happen. lol) where the figure is like a substitute, like a statue or something, giving the look like is a articulated figure, as other collectors who actually get it for the figure open it and enjoy it. I forget where I heard it, but box collectors are just like scalpers in a way, as you purchase the figure, keep it mint in box as thats how they collect, but then when the figure value goes for this much or that they instinctively sell it! If its a statue mint in box its like not a waste as a statue just sits there, so the box its like a case to protect it, but a figure that designed to be posed, moved around, with interchangeable parts and accessories, and its still sealed in its box, I'm sorry but that's a waste in my opinion.
Yuh well im sure this comment is going to piss a lot of yall off but Idc. Im 25 and don't feel the need to play with toys. Hints why all my figures are sealed. Im not going to get into a whole discussion about this with you but thats the type of collector I am. If we're being blunt here, I don't come on here and bitch about how ppl like you make it hard for a collector like me to find the figure I need for my collection sealed, but cant because the only ones I come across on Ebay or here are all opened. No offense.... Lol I feel like I started this... It's really not that deep; I'm surprised people are getting so bent out of shape. When i first bought my first figuarts, i intended on keeping them sealed, but I had an extra Goku, so I decided to open one, then proceeded to pose him and took pictures of him, which lead me to open the other ones because of how great the articulation was. Also, I don't think people are "playing " with the figures as a child would play with them; I think its safe to say that people are using the articulation of the figures to create dynamic displays. Anyways, sealed or loose, keep collecting, bro; it all helps the line!

You people crack me up. Everyone's trying to be a saint here by putting that one person down just because he shared his opinion on MIB Box Collectors. I agree he was wrong in directly targeting one person without knowing any background history of his reasoning for boxed collection but that person has later admitted to only wanting his figures sealed. Heck he doesn't even want to touch a Dbz figure!? I have a friend who's crazy after collection like this and has his own collection where he keeps boasting about the value of his collection, I HATE IT! We went on various toy hunting trips in our city, he even travelled to other other cities to get better figures and honestly he fking annoyed irritated me to the core with his preaching and preaching on how valuable this GI Joe figure is and how valuable that MOTU He-man figure is when in my mind all i wanted was a dbz action figure irrespective of it's worth, box or no box it didn't matter as I deeply love Dbz and wanted figures to bring me closer to that wonderful feeling and will stand by it for long as I live. When you've got real love for something you've gotta feel that love in your hands, this is what I feel should be the thought of almost all you dbz figure collectors that take pride in doing so and to not be blinded or fooled with other emotions. Don't be a person running after gold just because the price will increase later on and then sell that piece of gold for profits. I personally feel that most or almost all of the MIB box(I'm strictly talking about dbz figuarts as i don't have any experience of other brands) collectors are people who in the end have the most chances of selling away their collection just to get that added jacked up price advantage in return for the Mint in box status, it's something like only investing in multiple property only to sell it later since property prices always rise. So when you move ahead with that mindset, you are most likely to keep the figures perpetually boxed and can sugar coat this thought to yourself self by saying i don't want to loose pieces and all when you can still open the box and still not loose the pieces. It's what I am doing and it's enjoyable. To put it in simple terms, would you purchase a brand new car and just park it in the garage without even driving it? Would you purchase a super sexy new sports bike(love them) and again just park it in the garage or your building's parking lot to catch dust? The answer is obviously NO. These things are meant to be felt and enjoyed with. If you people are so hell bent on justifying your Mint In Box collection status by saying you want to protect your figures then why don't you leave your mobiles boxed too and just admire them from there? They would be pretty safe in the box with zero scratches and accessories all. Sounds fun doesn't it? Even when you purchase a boxed chocolate, won't you later or maybe immediately open it(like me) and eat it? It's for the simple reason that chocolates are meant to be eaten, the same way Action figures are meant to be played with or at the very least felt. It's what they are made for and any one still justifying a Mint In Box collection method sounds utterly foolish to me. I don't consider them real Dbz fans. A thought for all your saints in here.... ever wonder what would happen if we all were the Mint in box collectors type and day by day we all keep selling of our collections to make profits and then we come to a day where almost all of us have sold away our collections to make profits?(I'm not taking into account the ones that are exceptions where they have genuine problems and need to sell their collections, I respect that). What would happen to Dragonballfigures? We would just have Dragonball (-) Figures = Emptyness, There would be no inspiration left with empty black and white posts on a blue background virtual page, people would just logg in here like grandpa's or grandma's talking about the time when they had a good dbz collection followed with some lol's here and there and then log out and go to live their other life. Dbz would die and fade away slowly and steady if the real love for it is not kept alive or tried to continue forward in a foolish way. In the end there is no good without bad so box collectors or not we all contribute in some way or the other to making Dbz popular and still alive figure wise with our purchases so let's have fun and keep the love shining bright always. I'll hit on all of your points, and then I won't perpetuate the argument anymore. People aren't wrong that we need to redirect this back to the topic on the forum, but I wasn't going to stand by while someone gets insulted. Not in my blood to do so. P1. That one person was putting someone else down, and being a bully, and telling them they were annoying. You agreed he was wrong. You just coincidentally also have a similar opinion to him, so you find more justification in arguing his point. Even in the story with your friend, it sounds like you're frustrated because your figures won't retain their value, and that's because you decide to open them. It's a catch 22 where you want your cake and eat it, too. (There's nothing wrong with feeling that way, but it's not your friends fault. He sounds like he was maybe being a bit annoying is all.) P2. MIB doesn't even really matter that much in the Figuarts line. As long as you take care of the box and accessories, the figures pretty much hold their value. The new ways of packaging figures with Figuarts and Figma are kind of breaking down the MIB argument. And you're not considering people have different mindsets in the way they collect their figures, because it's them that has an understanding of why they aren't opening the figures they purchased, not you. I'm genuinely glad it's enjoyable for you to open the box, but you're not acknowledging anxiety as being a real reason someone wouldn't open the box. If they're feeling anxious about opening the box because they don't want to lose accessories, they might get as much pleasure leaving it in the box as you do taking it out, because it helps calm their anxiety. Other people have different mindsets. P3. To put it into simple terms, "No" is your obvious answer, not other peoples. If someone bought a sexy new sports car, they bought their own sexy sports car and can do with it as they please. They bought it, not you. That legally means they can just wreck it if they want. Maybe that brings them satisfaction. Whatever. it's theirs. P4. Again, why does it matter to you? P5. Chocolates are consumables, so that's kind of applicable here? Though I find the concept of there being thousands of people keeping chocolates in the box for them to basically rot funny. And you can "Not consider them DBZ fans" but your being bigoted against an entire group of people for no reason other than you think they're collecting wrong. You wrote a lot of paragraphs. P6. You should probably take an economics course, because this directly correlates with supply and demand. If we all left figures in the box, that means the only demand would be for figures that are in the box. Due to those not being rare, and virtually everyone in the market having MIB figures, the price would likely remain the same as originally released, or directly correlate with the age/limited edition of it, ect. If anything, there would likely grow to be a subculture surrounding this where barely a few people open the box and sell the out of box figure. If that happened, the open box figures would be more valuable, as there would be far less of them on the market compared to the MIB. Regardless, DBZ would be fine in any case, as the love of figures doesn't dictate the series life. The forum would just be a forum directed at MIB collectors, which in your theory, would be everyone. P7. Mint in Box collecting isn't bad, it's just different than the way you collect. You're right that there should be a harmony, though! We should all be understanding of different collectors. There is literally nothing for me to say. You've said it all man. lol Honestly Im really not upset about it and couldn't care less about how ppl think I collect. Like you said there my figures and I will do with them what I please but for him to say im less of a fan of DBZ because I don't take my figures out of the box and touch them is just ridiculous. lol This was my childhood. So in all seriousness everyone who has a problem with that can F off. Idc your not hurting my feelings one bit nor am I losing sleep over it. Lets just all agree that MIB collectors are better and be done with it. Lmao jk Also JJ Pt 5 had me laughing. Anyways its not a big deal and lets just all move on from it.

To be truthful I got into the line late and would like to have a second set to pose in one big battle scene or multiples. Its just their way to expensive so my only set is sealed.

Your said I'm not being considerate, yet your not being considerate yourself, telling me to shut up. I never once told a member of the forum to shut up or anything of that matter. Listen to your own words that you preach. lol!
But whatevers, ANYWAYS moving forward! For the SDCC exclusive, if there is going to be any, any thoughts what it can actually be? Given that SDCCs are mostly just repaint versions. Anyone got leads even though we are a few months away? From what I heard from others at a con it might be Krillin, like without the blue undershirt and white in his eyes. And that it might be SSGSS Goku but with actual gloss-shiny hair. And some are hoping that's its the Trunks that we should of gotten instead of the PC, a actual manga Trunks, with lighter jacket, hair, different colors on the sword and so on. I know PC Trunks is still freshly out, but we have multiple versions of Goku, a third Trunks version would not be surprising.
You're right, you didn't tell anyone to shut up. you went on a gigantic tangent attempting to make someone feel bad for the way they like to collect, and told them that they were annoying, and anyone that's like them is annoying. You were being the definition of a bully, making someone feel bad for an innocent action that doesn't involve you just because you think your way is better, and you were happy to vocalize that. You owe them an apology, not just a dismissal of people telling you you're being hurtful to other human beings and then to just ramble about other figures. Dude it seems like you didn't read all my posts?! Me bully? No, just gave my opinion. A apology from me? LOL! Nope! Sorry! Not going to happen. I never "attempted" to make anyone feel bad, just gave my opinion, if he takes it wrong that's on him. Its vise versa, he basically said that he find collectors who open boxes annoying as he has a hard time finding them still sealed, basically saying I'm annoying to him. Which is fair. I never said my way is better? Where did you get that from?? Like I said it seems you didn't read all my posts as I said that he has his way of collecting and I have mine, as in accepting his way of collecting and never said he was wrong and like moving on with the topic of the thread that it was. You really need to calm down a read posts thoroughly and comprehend what your reading.

I see two possibilities here. A. You are completely unaware (certainly apathetic) of how others might react to what you had to say with your post (which I highly doubt since you started the post with "no offense to you"). B. You ARE aware and you're playing the fool, i.e. trolling...and if this is the case you really shouldn't be shocked when people respond accordingly. Honestly. You are bothered that the guy keeps his figures sealed (which somehow makes it your business) and you proceed to claim the guy is purely a scalper because of what he has chosen to do with what he has bought, under the guise of "giving your opinion". Either you are missing something or you are a very subtle troll.
