So for example if you were to get a Megaman X figure that the color blue tone is off and looks more of a purple blue tone than his signature blue tone, as long as eye decals are place evenly, no paint errors and such, as the box and the company who made the figure made X specifically to be in just in his normal form, no weapon form, nothing, just normal X but its in a purple blue tone than his signature blue tone, you'd be ok with it? Yes, if the alternative is inferior. But I don't even feel the premiums are doing anything wrong to be honest. I just appreciate well crafted collectibles and whether you are a fan of them or not, figuarts are 'the' action figure when it comes to DBZ. There are no alternatives that come close sadly. Edit: I'm holding off judgement of the Trunks until one is in my hands but I originally was worried about Premium Vegeta because of the review videos and pictures and honestly, people just need to learn to take better photographs. The face is way better than the original and the clean body job has me immensely excited for the Cell Saga Trunks. Finally!!! Someone who thinks the way I do. blank, as monolithic said, people dont have good lenses for their cameras, for example I have watched the premium color Vegeta review by the same guy who reviewed trunks (DareDevil19) and he looked very pale, but in hand it looked completeley different, that said Trunks will be different too, it will have a better skin tone. Just dont be too delicate about these figures, I guess you are really used to getting the best that you dont appreciate a decent figure.

Just dont be too delicate about these figures, I guess you are really used to getting the best that you dont appreciate a decent figure. I don't care about how it looks in the light or pictures and such as light always differs the figure, my main problem is how the figure looks in general, like from what the company is referencing the figure off of.
Like in my example of a Megaman X, I'm not going to purchase a X figure that is off colored to how he is supposed to be as. Its the same for PC Trunks. The original Trunks is the most anime accurate. PC Trunks is not. Bandai/Tamashii made Trunks based from the anime as that was supposed to be the one only Trunks figure to go with their line, hence how the hair color goes with the other SS figures.
Then the demand went up for Trunks as for those who missed out on it. Bandai/Tamashii made a new figure, that doesn't exist in the anime or manga, to satisfy the demand. Then those who got the new Trunks are saying that the new is better than the original, that the new is anime accurate. But how?? How is that possible if Bandai/Tamashii made original Trunks to be anime accurate in the first place!
Its really annoying seeing those comments and hearing them too as it makes no sense. As monolithic said, he cares about more about the quality, clean paint amps and such, but if the figure is inaccurate in colors to him its ok, or better? Which is fine as that's him, his preference to collecting his figures.
Mine is, the figure has to be to what the company is basing the figure off of? Megaman X in his normal form is in his iconic blue color, correct. Namek Saga Goku figure is like on the show, correct. Justice League Superman figure has the red and blue colors like in the show, correct. But PC Trunks, incorrect.
In my opinion Bandai/Tamashii should of just made a manga Trunks version. With the sword having gold here and there, jacket way more light blue and so on. Not this PC, as PC its more like a substitute version basically. At least a manga Trunks would fit in with the line, with the manga versions of Gohan, Goku, and Piccolo.

blank It IS anime accurate bro, Tamashii is basing their pc figures off of the moment when they turn super saiyan. When the saiyans turn onto a super saiyan and they have the aura around them, their clothes turn more vibrant and lighter as well, as you can see in the gif below. If you are referring to the jacket color that is. And as for the hair same concept, just adding that there are also inconsistencies in the show.

Of the various toylines I collect...this is the only one people debate hair color and skin tone more than anything else. The show and other media is very inconsistent when it comes to demonstrating character colors. And when it comes to 'lighting' from the character's auras, that's another field altogether. I feel as long as it's close enough, I'm content with it. There are some times when the discrepancies are a little more apparent (like SSGSS Goku's gi being a little too red...I still think it is) but as long as the colors are 'in the ballpark', I'm OK with it as well. If you don't like it, don't buy it and if you like the original, then save up and buy that one. We're lucky we have so many choices.

This figure line is practically flawless when compared to every other DB one out there. People just like to cry. The argument for accuracy when talking about Dragon Ball is laughable. Animation style, colors and scale changes so drastically between episodes and even scenes its hilarious that people try to make such a big deal out of it. People get almost violently upset over toys. Just enjoy the damn series for a change. Premium Vegeta was amazing and I fully expect Trunks to follow suit. I honestly think Trunks is my least favorite figure out of the line to begin with as the sculpt and paint job was pretty subpar compared to some of the other characters. But seeing how slick Vegeta looked got me excited again.

It's not that people like to cry like you say or perhaps many may think there's too much complaining going on. It's simply comparing one figure to another. Obviously this line is the greatest DB figure line to date, I don't think anyone's arguing that. When it comes to this specific topic of whether one figure is more or less accurate than the other, there's always room for healthy discussion. While people may come across as strongly opinionated one way or another, criticism is healthy so I see no problem with comparing one figure to another. If no one complained the company wouldn't have any reason to improve.
Or we could all just say wow this figure is so kewl, everything's great, all hail Tamashii. This is a forum meant for discussion. As long as people aren't rude, people can "cry" all they want.

It's first world problems. But the problem is, people do get rude because they feel oh so robbed as a 'consumer'. I haven't really seen any healthy criticism to be honest.

The only people mad about the PC's are the ones that own the first issue and are upset that their figure is now less valuable and widely available to others since it has been reissued

Well obviously these are first world problems but what does that have to do with anything? The point is that as collectors/consumers, we do have a right to demand better from a company. If we just took the problem figures as they were and never gave any feedback, we'd continue to get the same. I will agree that people can get very hostile over what is, in the grand scheme of things, a very trivial matter. Btw, a lot of the problems with this and other figures aren't invented, they're there or else why would anyone make it up? I personally wouldn't see any reason to make up a defect just for the sake of it since all that leads to is argument, unless trolling is the objective of course. Everyone can be free to love or hate a figure. Just don't be a dick about it (not you personally, just in general).

The only people mad about the PC's are the ones that own the first issue and are upset that their figure is now less valuable and widely available to others since it has been reissued Actually from what I've seen its those who only have the PC versions are the one causing all the ruckus and for sure knocking the originals. While those that have the originals are neutral, they have the original and can easily get the PCs, like why complain about the PC while you have both? It makes no sense. While those who don't have the original but have the PCs knock on the originals saying that its better, that those who spent in the hundreds are stupid and so on. It just comes off as jealousy or insecure about their PC figure. Which is just dumb as its just a toy.

The new vibrant blue jacket looks exactly like a bunch of screenshots of Trunks from the anime. If you don't like the hair, so be it, but trying to say the new jacket makes the figure inaccurate is just incorrect.
