I don't wanna sound like an A-hole wich I proabably am gunna, but why are you even thinking about the thought of even buying it? Doesn't matter if you have incomplete collection or not - paying 500 dollars for a piece of plastic is insanely stupid in my opinion. I still don't have scouter vegeta, trunks, ssj vegeta, sddc vegeta, goku, and piccolo and I am fine.

People with a lot of passion and collection bias will spend their money on what matters to them most! I on the other hand am firmly in your court on this one. I'll pay upwards of 150 on a figure just to "Complete" a sort of collection. Meaning 1 of each character, but I'm not spending the 200+ on getting a SDCC SS3 Goku when I can pick up a DaTong version that looks AMAZINGLY similar for $30. The only figure I'm even considering dumping over $150 for is Perfect Cell, as he is the only figure that I need still to complete a 'Character Set' if you will.

Sorry, but that is the type of thought I will never understand... I won't come out here saying does people don't have lifes, but 150+ or 200 whatever is still not a reasonable REASON for you to buy it. And like I said I won't get the whole ''I am a mighty passionate collector and I will buy every single figure in my way!!!'' mentality.

Not to sound like a moderator or hard ass here, but why do you care? 75% of this thread has been people crying over this figure because of price/availability in some form. It's getting pretty draining having to sift through pages of people growing more and more disgruntled because they aren't getting their way. Can we get on topic? Hopefully this is a SDCC and we can all be happy.

What is expensive to some may seem cheap to others. Apply the same principle to collecting. Some may feel it's worth 150-200 for a particular figure when others can simply do without. $1 to one person may hold different value to another. Back on topic, I personally set my limit for this Goku at $200 shipped, some may think that's too high, some too low, I don't care. I'm just gonna wait until the SDCC is announced and pray that it's this figure. I planned on getting at least 3 of this Goku if he was decently priced (less than $100) but at the prices he's going for now, that's just not happening.

I can't even fathom where you would think that a figure limited to 500 pieces would be less than $100. Then again, if you also counting on it being a SDCC release, or counting non-limited edition box releases, that makes a lot more sense. I'm a little sad that I likely won't be able to get a hold of whatever exclusive face they got was ( I don't even know which one it is at this point ), but I've invested SO much time in investigating it already that I think I can get over it. ( That's a joke folks, I've obviously spent 0 time investigating if I don't even know what it is )

Its all because its not fair, as I know that maybe those in Mexico might felt the same way when we have SDCC, but they always have a chance to get the SDCC via ebay or a online site. But this time for us its basically impossible to get it and if not stuck paying already triple digits as theyre just pricing it by guess. Sorry if those who spoke that caused you feel "pretty draining" and having to sift through pages of people growing more and more disgruntled because they aren't getting their way, but thats just the simple reaction that happens in these type of situations.

Plus I swear why didn't they fix the knee gap thing! Again, they had a good chance to do it but nope! If they fixed the knees, then I can see it being more of a exclusive than just a repaint, tweek of the belt strap, and one extra face. But the knees, if they done it like Krillans or Trunks then it is a improvement and more of a exclusive as its more of a difference than its regular release or exclusive release. The guys at the event said the person in charge the one who confirmed they only had 500 gokus said for those who missed out they could buy them at sdcc. Thats still is not solid proof that the Mexico Goku will be the SDCC exclusive. Just because a worker there at the both said it, doesn't mean its actually true. Theyre just workers, maybe volunteers, unless Tamashii Nations/Bandai says it then its true without a doubt, but a guy in charge at the event is possible false as they are not all quite informed well and just say what they say to dodge questions and get it over with.

Figures are a luxury item, you aren't entitled to anything. That's what I think people aren't grasping here. So, yes, it is fair actually. A limited edition was limited.

Sometimes I look at an expensive figure and agree with the "collectors value" and why the peice is so high. Then I pull my self back to earth because I feel a toy with no high tech special features or doesnt do anything spectacular is not worth $100+ (unless I only have a short time left before I die). I'd rather do something with it that can change my life or someone else's for the better.

I wouldn't agree with the "collector's value" as some people try to sell their figure as the same price as if it was brand new in box and such while theirs that they are selling is in used condition, scuffs, loose joints, and no packaging. Those sellers I hate because they never understand it, they just see the figure and what the price is going for. They don't understand the collectors prespectrive in condition of the figure.

AndrewAnimeToys on Facebook was just griping about scalpers driving their scalp prices as high as $650. I don't blame him for being upset, but I told him that they probably wouldn't keep it that high because they'll realize that no one in the right mind will spend even near that amount.

This can all be settled IF someone would have solid proof that its going to be the SDCC exclusive. With actually proof from Tamashii Nations/Bandai, everyone (or at least on this forum reading this topic) would know about it and just not bother with the ones listed for the crazy amount and the price will drop like a rock to a snail running a lap. The prices will drop with them knowing that no one is interested as they rather wait for SDCC and get it for A LOT A LOT A LOT cheaper, and scalpers would drop the price trying to get as much as they can for it.

IF the SDCC is gonna be this Goku (most likely just without the face and with a regular box), then MexiGoku's price will dip and that's when I'll nab one within hopefully my budget of $200 max. I want at least one of these figures with that face and the rest of em, I can just buy the SDCC versions of. All of this is assuming the SDCC is this Goku. We'll find out later this week what it's gonna be and then we can stop speculation and actually use facts. Now we wait...
